Joe Biden has now invoked a Higher Power in his battle with Pro-Life opponents as he continues to twist scripture so that evil is good and good is evil.
Nearly two years after launching a “whole-of-government approach” to support the abortion industry, President Joe Biden has now invoked a Higher Power. At a campaign stop in Florida on Tuesday, Biden made the sign of the Cross in an apparent attempt to ward off pro-life legislation, mocked the notion that miracles happen in politics, and wondered aloud about “what the Hell is in” the Bible.
During a pro-abortion speech in Tampa, the purportedly “devout Catholic” Biden lashed out at former President Donald Trump for allegedly being a pro-life extremist. The 46th president seemed incredulous that the 45th president “described the Dobbs decision as a ‘miracle.’ Maybe it’s coming from that Bible he’s trying to sell. Whoa. I almost wanted to buy one just to see what the hell is in it.”
It seems curious Joe Biden wouldn’t have picked up some of the fundamentals of the Bible from attending daily Mass before going to “the black church” every Sunday, between stops in the Greek Orthodox and Puerto Rican communities, all after attending synagogue on Shabbat.
That was but one facet of Biden’s inversion of Scripture. At a meeting with volunteers in Tampa, Biden invoked the power of our Lord’s precious and life-giving Cross as a guest speaker discussed abortion.
Biden made the holy gesture as Nikki Fried — the current chair of the Florida Democratic Party and former state commissioner of agriculture, who lost the 2022 Democratic gubernatorial primary to a former Republican by 14 points — belittled Governor Ron DeSantis (R) for signing a bill that halted abortion once babies have a detectable fetal heartbeat. “Ron DeSantis felt like he needed to run for president, and so [protecting unborn life at] 15 weeks wasn’t good enough. We had to go to six weeks,” inveighed Fried.
As Fried uttered those sentences, Joe Biden made the sign of the Cross, apparently trying to ward off the heartbeat bill from becoming law. But as it turns out, Jesus is pro-life, Ron DeSantis is a leader, and on May 1 the Heartbeat Protection Act will become the Heartbeat Protection law.
Making the sign of the Cross at an abortion rally would be entirely appropriate … for an exorcist. One of the foremost figures of the early Church wrote, “By the sign of the Cross all magic is stopped, and all witchcraft brought to nothing, and all the idols are being deserted and left, and every unruly pleasure is checked.” But for the nation’s second Catholic president to make a sacred gesture of his faith to mock the sanctity of life — a teaching of his church, the Bible, and his Savior — is sacrilegious.
The Bible — in any translation, with or without any individual’s endorsement — makes abundantly clear the Cross is the preeminent Christian sign, reconciling a holy God with sinful mankind. For that reason, Christians have always embraced, cherished, and clung to the Old Rugged Cross.
The sign of the Cross is an ancient Christian prayer. Scripturally, the Christian makes the sign of the Cross to show he plans to fulfill the Great Commandment to love God with all his mind (forehead), heart, and strength (shoulders). Early church writings seem to indicate that originally, it was traced on the forehead with the thumb, perhaps calling to mind Bible verses about God sealing the faithful by placing His mark on their foreheads. (See Exodus 13:16, Ezekiel 9:3-6, and Revelation 14:1 and 22:4.)
Over time, it became standard to make the sign of the Cross over the whole body. The exact method varied geographically, but eventually all traditional Christians — Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Copts, Armenians, Ethiopians, Anglicans, Lutherans, and others — came to begin all their prayers with this sign, asking the blessing of the Holy Trinity.
Early Christians took their role as the people of the Cross so seriously — and placed such trust in Christ crucified — that they used this holy sign to sanctify, and drive demons out of, everything. The early church leader Tertullian (160-240 A.D.) wrote, “At every step and movement, at every going in and out, when we put on our clothes and shoes, when we bathe, when we sit at table, when we light the lamps, on couch, on seat, in all the ordinary actions of daily life, we trace upon the forehead the sign [of the Cross].”
St. Cyril of Jerusalem (d. 386) told those preparing for baptism that making the sign of the Cross is how Christians “confess the Crucified.” It is “our seal, made with boldness by our fingers on our brow and in everything; over the bread we eat and the cups we drink, in our comings and in our goings out; before our sleep, when we lie down and when we awake; when we are traveling, and when we are at rest.”
The one thing early Christians did not do is use the sign of the Cross as a joke, much less to bless demonic activity. Joe Biden has a strange history of using Christ’s Cross as a punchline. In a 2019 campaign speech, then-candidate Biden responded to claims that he was too friendly to Republicans by crossing himself while mouthing the first words a Catholic says in confession: “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.”
Biden bizarrely also made the sign of the Cross during a joint press conference last September with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, when Netanyahu mentioned the two had been “friends” for “over 40 years” — an apparently playful reference to the octogenarian’s longevity.
Some have indicated that Biden intended his latest mockery of Christ’s Cross as a requiem for the DeSantis presidential campaign. Or he could have indicated that he intends for his Justice Department to challenge one or both of the pro-life protections. Others may say Biden’s continual invocation of this faithful sign shows his desire to sanctify even banal statements of politics.
But perpetually making the sign of the Cross does not indicate piety. Our soul inclines toward the actions our bodies commit and the words our mouths speak. To use holy things flippantly falls under the category of taking the Lord’s Name in vain.
When the president — during a visit to secure his position as the leader of the nation — applies this classical mark of the Christian to abortion, which Christianity has taught for 2,000 years is murder, it rises to the level of calling “evil good and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20). That notion is heightened by Nikki Fried who, one day after her joint appearance with Biden, declared Republicans who passed pro-life laws protecting babies from abortion “have blood on their hands.”
Politicians who support dismembering innocent children in the womb have blood on their hands — the same hands they use to make the sign of the Cross over the abortion industry. Joe Biden has repeatedly said he believes he is fighting “a battle for the soul of this nation.”
He has repeatedly invoked spiritual powers while promoting immoral policies and jailing pro-life advocates. In his 2023 State of the Union address, he called on Congress to “restore the soul of this nation” by expanding abortion. And Biden has declared, “Transgender Americans shape our nation’s soul.”
With each day, the spiritual warfare lurking below the surface of our political discourse manifests itself more fiercely. Christians must remember “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).
Therefore, “we do not war after the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (II Corinthians 10:3-4). But the president making the sign of the Cross over the blood-drenched abortion industry should serve as a wake-up call that the spiritual combat is all-too real. And the spiritual battle must be joined with the spiritual weapons of prayer, fasting, and complete faith that “the battle is the Lord’s.”
As Biden blesses the unthinkable, Christians must pray, vote, and stand.
I’m reminded of that time when David Platt told his church that if any conservatives thought they couldn’t be in the same church as someone who voted for Joe Biden, then they were in the wrong church and needed to be elsewhere. Since that time in 2020, Platt and his “third way” peers haven’t relented and continue to push the notion that one can be in right standing with God while holding hands with the party of Satan—the party that wants to sexually mutilate your children.
As the year 2023 draws to a close, the clarion calls of progressive Evangelical bridge-builders like Platt, JD Greear, and many others continue to echo in the public square, advocating for a middle ground between political progressives and conservatives. However, the truth remains—such compromise is no longer tenable for those adhering to a biblical worldview, especially in light of the Democrat Party’s latest affront: the aggressive promotion of transgender surgeries for children.
This new agenda goes beyond mere political opposition. It represents a direct and existential threat, if that were possible, not only to the Church but to the very fabric of God’s creation. The Democrat Party’s agenda is not just in opposition to biblical values—they are a frontal assault on the sanctity of human life as ordained by God.
Let us be clear: while the gates of Hell shall not prevail against the Church (Matthew 16:17-19), this does not shield us from the harm and wounds inflicted by such godless ideologies. The Democrat Party, in its current form, embodies these “gates of Hell,” with its endorsement of practices that defy God’s design for humanity.
From Queer Theory to Critical Race Theory, these ideologies are now rampant, infiltrating schools, institutions, and even churches, leading a once seemingly moral nation down a path of chaos and destruction. Denominations that once stood firm in conservative values, like the Southern Baptist Convention and the Presbyterian Church (PCA), are now succumbing to this destructive ideology. Yet, prominent Evangelical voices call for “civility,” “understanding,” and “dialogue” in the face of this onslaught.
Just think, the vocal pro-Democrat Southern Baptist pastors, like Dwight McKissic and Thabiti Anyabwile, who vehemently oppose “white Evangelicalism,” as they’ve termed it, because conservative, Bible-believing Christianity refuses to bow the knee to the modern Ba’al of political debauchery—besides the usual pro-abortion antics and social welfare activism, what you see below is the Democrat party these men support.
And it’s the David Platts and the JD Greears who tolerate and give approval to this pernicious Jezebel marching her minions into the pits of sexual anarchy. The Democrat Party, under the guise of “progress,” believes they have the surgical tools and hormone pills to correct the “mistakes” God made in creating your children and their anatomies.
Here is a thought: Open borders leading to an attack on our country, and changing the culture is the ultimate desire of Joe Biden’s administration because they are globalists and elitists. Our left wing government, intelligensia and colleges have no problem with radical Islam and are antisemitic. Border Patrol agents have found an improvised explosive device (IED) at the U.S. border with Mexico, as security experts warn lax enforcement of immigration laws will invite terrorist attacks on American soil in the near future.
Border Patrol uncovered an IED in Texas in September and another at a port of entry in Arizona in May. Officials have found homemade explosives, similar to the kind terrorists used to maim U.S. soldiers in Iraq, since at least 2018. The discovery comes as officers encountered 736 people on the U.S. terror watchlist this year, and 286 people on the terror watch list between ports of entry over the last three years — compared to 11 during the last three years of the Trump administration.
“What’s coming across the southern border is not just Central Americans, Mexicans, South Americans. It is individuals from states that are bases for known terrorist entities, like Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Lebanon. The San Diego Border Patrol issued a warning bulletin about a week and a half ago, and it said, we need to be on the watch for Hamas terrorists coming across the southern border,” said Senator Steve Daines (R-Mont.) on “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins” Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Daines warned that more than 500 people had illegally crossed the U.S. border who hail from such hostile states as Afghanistan and Somalia. “We should be prepared that they could attack us from within,” he warned in a press conference, standing alongside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
“I’m very worried” that the “horrible attacks from Hamas will inspire lone wolves in our country — like we saw happen in Belgium when those two Swedes lost their lives, murdered by an Islamic terrorist,” Daines told Perkins. “It also could release terrorist cells that are going to have premeditated attacks here.” Some worry the United States is for importing Mexico’s drug wars, which have claimed the lives of 61,637 Mexicans since 1964 — the vast majority since 2006, according to Karla Quintana, head of Mexico’s National Search Commission.
On Thursday, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) asked Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to brief Congress on the number of known or suspected terrorists encountered at the southern border since Biden took office, as well as “their countries of origin, their terrorist group affiliations, any documented criminal or terrorist activity they may have engaged in.”
The numbers of illegal immigration under President Joe Biden have shattered records. Border Patrol agents have encountered at least 10 million illegal immigrants during the Biden administration. Biden and “Border Czar” Kamala Harris presided over three record-breaking years of illegal immigration in a row.
U.S. officials encountered a total of 8,396,199 illegal immigrants during the Biden-Harris administration, according to official figures from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including:
3,201,144 apprehensions in fiscal year 2023;
2,766,582 in fiscal year 2022;
1,956,519 in fiscal year 2021; and
471,954 in the nine months Biden held office in fiscal year 2020.
The 8.4 million does not include the known gotaways who crossed the southern border but escaped. DHS Secretary Mayorkas testified under oath that the number of known gotaways was “over 600,000” — but Border Patrol agents and whistleblowers (who remained anonymous for fear of retaliation) told The Center Square the number is actually 1.7 million at the southern border alone. Former U.S. Customs and Border Protection Chief Mark Morgan placed the number of known gotaways at one million in 2023 alone.
That brings the total of illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. during the Biden administration to 10 million — but it does not include unknown gotaways. Border Patrol figures told Senator Daines, “By definition we don’t know, but we think it’s another 50% … so, another 800,000 to 900,000” additional illegal immigrants who entirely evaded detection, Daines told Perkins. “We have no idea who these people are.”
While the southern border captured headlines, the number of illegal crossings at America’s northern border with Canada exploded by 237% over the last year — more than the previous 11 years combined. The number of unaccompanied minors has also increased by 792% between fiscal year 2020 (944) and fiscal year 2023 (7,482).
If the illegal immigrants encountered at the border during the Biden administration were a state, they would be the 10th largest state in America, after California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Georgia, and North Carolina.
The crush of humanity crowding across the southern border has imposed a high cost on the communities where they have settled — or been placed by the Biden administration. In states from Alaska to Texas “shelters are full, food pantries empty, law enforcement strained, and aid workers exhausted,” a coalition of 24 Republican governors wrote the Biden administration in September.
“States are forced to provide financial, educational, and medical support to migrants entering our country illegally — support that is skyrocketing in cost due to record inflation and the unprecedented influx of migrants into our states.”
The governors called on Biden — who has commissioned an endless string of secret charter planes and buses to settle illegal immigrants throughout the country — “to provide honest, accurate, detailed information on where the migrants admitted at the southern border are being relocated in the United States.”
Illegal immigrants cost the American taxpayer between $84 billion and $94 billion a year, Robert Rector, a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, told the Senate Budget Committee on September 13. Another estimate, from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), put the figure at $150.7 billion, subtracting the $32 billion illegal immigrants pay in taxes from the more than $182 billion illegal immigrants cost U.S. taxpayers. “Each illegal alien or U.S.-born child of illegal aliens costs the U.S. $8,776 annually,” said a report from FAIR.
The Biden administration’s porous border has made the president an object of derision for South American nations, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and illegal immigrants themselves. “I believe the Biden administration has dropped the ball on immigration,” said Irineo Mujica, who is leading a caravan of thousands of illegal immigrants into the U.S. “Mexico is … ganging up with all the countries to make sure that all of this immigration goes straight into the United States.”
“This is being used by the countries to make sure they get what they want from the United States. And Joe Biden has lost,” said Mujica. Former President Donald “Trump at least knew what to say to make sure he doesn’t fuel immigration.”
The Biden administration’s response to state efforts at curtailing illegal immigration has been to cut the wire Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) placed across the border near the well-trafficked corridor at Eagle Pass and sue to have barriers removed from the Rio Grande. U.S. District Court Judge Alia Moses, a George W. Bush appointee, issued a temporary restraining order demanding the Biden administration stop destroying the Texas border wire.
As chaos increases, Congressional Republicans have tried to bring ailing states much-needed relief — and American citizens greater security. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) has said he will not approve President Biden’s request for additional foreign aid to Ukraine unless it contains funding for U.S. border security and enforcement. Biden has requested additional funding to speed up the processing and release of illegal immigrants into the United States.
Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) has introduced the Terrorist Inadmissibility Codification Act to prohibit entry to any immigrant who has publicly supported al-Qaeda, the Islamic State (ISIS), Hezbollah, Hamas, or the Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ). “It’s in our national security interest to ensure foreign nationals seeking to harm our nation are prohibited entry. Those that are already here must be removed,” said Rubio.
But that will deal with only a fraction of the 10 million illegal immigrants the Democratic administration in Washington has released onto American streets in less than three years.
“This is a very, very dangerous time for our country,” Daines told Perkins. “And I hold Joe Biden and the Senate Democrats accountable for this, because it’s their policies that put us in this mess.”
Disclaimer: This is not a political article nor is it meant to make a political point. I do that from time to time, and seek to engage politics through a decidedly biblical worldview. That being said, politics can’t be completely avoided here, but this article is about the dishonesty of former Southern Baptist leader, Russell Moore.
A few days ago, Russell Moore joined Mike Cosper on the podcast at Christianity Today to praise Joe Biden for handling questions regarding his son, Hunter Biden’s drug and money laundering scandals. As you’re probably well aware by now, the evidence of the Biden family’s Burisma/Ukraine money laundering scandal has piled up to the point where it is undeniable and the extent of Hunter’s drug problem is well known. During the 2020 election cycle, Biden did everything he could to sweep both of these issues under the rug, especially the drug problem, as though it was a relic of a bygone era. But we now know that the drugs, the sex videos, and the money laundering scandals—the ones including Joe Biden himself, who completely lied about having any knowledge of the situation at all—were all interconnected. Still, Russell Moore, just a few days ago, praised him for it.
“The way that he [Joe Biden] responded to Hunter Biden during the 2020 election,” Moore said, “that people thought would hurt him in the debate, for instance, when Hunter Biden comes up and he says, look, he’s been an addict. He’s had some trouble with drugs like a lot of kids in this country and a lot of families in this country. And I’m not ashamed of him and I love him and he’s my son. That actually resonated with a lot of people because a lot of people have that situation. Almost all of us have that situation somewhere in our families. I do think that that’s genuine and authentic.“
The issue here isn’t that Joe Biden is a terrible person, unfit for public office of any sort, especially the presidency. Anyone with a modicum of sanity already knows this and you do not need to be convinced of that. The issue here, however, is that Russell Moore, one of the most well-known longest-running leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention’s public policy arm, the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), is a blatantly dishonest man with an agenda to push.
Russell Moore, nor is Cosper or anyone else at Christianity Today uninformed on the truth of these scandals. He pulled the same thing with the vaccines, border security, women preachers and sex abuse, racism, and every other hot-button issue we faced over the last decade that he was in office. Russell Moore is also not stupid enough to believe that Joe Biden has been “genuine and authentic” in dealing with questions surrounding these scandals. But it demonstrates that Russell Moore has been willing to sacrifice, time and time again, inconvenient truth in favor of dismantling the former stronghold of conservatism within the Southern Baptist Convention—which he has accomplished very well.

If you were the leader of China and you needed to prepare your nation for the war to come… what steps would you take? The Hudson Institute recently gave a presentation showing the detailed steps Xi would need to take for war and how he is already doing most of them.
I watched a chilling presentation by the Hudson Institute recently by someone who is much smarter than Joe Biden or anyone in his administration.
His name is Kyle Bass, the founder and chief investment officer of Hayman Capital Center Advisory Board. He’s a very serious man – and I suspect a very rich man.
His topic: “China Prepares for War: A Timeline – Xi’s Inexorable March Toward War.”
He started with three slides, which incorporated three observations of Chinese President Xi Jinping:
– He’s fond of discussing, and he’s not shy about it, “The rejuvenation of the great Chinese race,” which he likens it to his life’s singular goal.
– In October 2022, he mentioned his “laser-like focus on reacquiring the Taiwanese separatists.” He says that if he cannot achieve it, his entire set of lifetime achievements would amount to failure.
– In his last six major speeches, Xi has stressed the need to prepare for war and for the 90 million members of the Communist Party of China to get ready for the “Great Struggle.”
OK, now that you know what he wants more than anything else, here’s where Xi stands on the way to achieving his goal.
As part of his aggression toward Taiwan, he completed Operation Joint Fire-Strike in August 2022. He completed Operation Joint Sword this year. And he has not named the last operation – an amphibious assault on a to-be-announced basis. Don’t expect his next move to be telegraphed as Vladimir Putin’s all-out-invasion was.
Notably, Xi says, Operation Joint Sword stressed speed and agility but not control of data. Prior to Joint Sword, the Chinese severed the undersea fiber-optic cables between Taiwan and Matsu Island. They understand the need for data flows between Taiwan and the rest of the world must be maintained scrupulously.
Li Yi, a professor at Being’s Communist Party School, gave a speech in April 2022 where he said: “We need to reunify with Taiwan province as soon as possible with our overwhelming troops and firepower. Simultaneously, it demands cutting off water, electricity and mobile phones throughout the island. Electricity, water and mobile phones can all be reconnected in liberated areas, but they must remain disconnected in area the PLA has not liberated, particularly mobile phones.”
The focus on phone service is because the Chinese had trouble seizing Hong Kong. There was so much connectivity that the world could see the disaster that was taking place.
For the last piece in the puzzle, the amphibian assault, Bass notes that there have been three calendar months a year that work – April, May and August. The Taiwan Strait is 110 miles wide and has 20-foot tidal surges, aggressive currents and miles of mud bogs when troops land. Navy forces need specific dates and times of landing to achieve success.
Once an amphibious assault is achieved, Xi will be ready to roll at any time.
China has already taken care to act on most new laws that need to be enacted prior to an attack on Taiwan. Look for the last one to be submitted and approved this month. China is building air raid shelters, combat hospitals and announcing blood donations. In May, Xi ordered Chinese banks to risk-assess and insulate against “severe” U.S. sanctions.
“What would precipitate severe U.S. sanctions?” Bass asked his audience. “We are sending our policy staff there with knee pads begging for meetings.”
This only gives you the “flavor” of this presentation. Bass is not some paranoid. He has all his faculties. He’s a serious man. He seems certain that Xi is as serious as a heart attack about annexing Taiwan – soon.
