Peter Wehner: ” Why I Can No Longer Call Myself an Evangelical Republican .”

Peter Wehner, former President George W. Bush’s speech writer and senior adviser to Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, opined in the New York Times on Sunday, ” Why I Can No Longer Call Myself an Evangelical Republican.”

I don’t know Peter Wehner.

But it’s strange; I would have thought that the final straw for evangelical Wehner might have been his boss, President George W. Bush in England in 2003, equating Jehovah and false god Allah as the same God:

EXHIBIT A

Q Thank you, Mr. President, Mr. Prime Minister. Mr. President, when you talk about peace in the Middle East, you’ve often said that freedom is granted by the Almighty. Some people who share your beliefs don’t believe that Muslims worship the same Almighty. I wonder about your views on that.

And, Mr. Prime Minister, as a man also of faith, I’d like to get your reaction to that.

PRESIDENT BUSH: I do say that freedom is the Almighty’s gift to every person. I also condition it by saying freedom is not America’s gift to the world. It’s much greater than that, of course. And I believe we worship the same God . (11/20/03)

EXHIBIT B

Or as if that weren’t enough, Laura Bush’s deceit and hypocrisy from 2000-2008 — keeping quiet through two presidential campaigns so her husband could be elected and reelected; and misrepresenting her position on same-sex marriage and abortion:

First Lady Supportive of Gay Rights and Abortion Rights — not Michelle Obama, but Laura Bush!

EXHIBIT C

Or Ken Mehlman — former White House Political Director, former Bush/Cheney 2004 Campaign Manager, and former RNC Chairman 2005-2007 — who paraded himself (once he left Washington, DC) as homosexual and led the amicus brief advocating homosexual marriage, in the Obergefell vs. Hodges case, before the Supreme Court in 2015.

Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman framed the BUSH/CHENEY 2004 reelect on “Family Values” as they placed same-sex marriage bans on the ballots in AR, GA, KY, MI, MS, MT, ND, OH, OK, OR, and UT.

Following the Bush 43′ reelection victory we learned that the showcasing of “moral virtue” by the BUSH/CHENEY 04′ campaign was a ruse. Machiavellian to the core, “Political expediency placed above morality and the use of craft and deceit to maintain the authority and carry out the policies of a ruler.”

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee led the Arkansas initiative. He emailed me following the 2004 charade:

“Looking back, we all now know we were played for chumps as we led sincere efforts to pass Constitutional amendments in our states (I led one in 2004 that won by 70%), only to now realize that those running the White House didn’t respect or even agree with the principles involved – just knew it would drive voters to the polls and help turnout and win.”

EXHIBIT D

Or Cindy McCain advocating for homosexual marriage in 2010, after her husband was the Republican presidential nominee in 2008. Why didn’t she say this when her husband was campaigning for President in 2007-2008?

You see the pattern here, one thing they all have in common — like candidate Barack Hussein Obama at the Saddleback Presidential Debate in 2008 — deceit, so as to be elected:

Obama: “I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian-for me-for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.”

Warren: “Forty million abortions, at what point does a baby get human rights, in your view?”

Obama: “Well, you know, I think that whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade.”

It speaks to character: veracity — “habitual truthfulness”.

As to Peter Wehner, a “NeverTrumper”, he has become so obsessed with Donald Trump that, like a drunk, it has impaired his vision. Wehner cannot see the real crisis, which would be there even if Trump wasn’t, and that’s the reason the New York Times accords him that perch, as a ” dupe of Secularism.”

There is good news; Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to stand.

Rev. Graham: Trump Has Done More for Christianity Than Any Recent President

In a Facebook post praising President Donald Trump for his remarks at the lighting of the national Christmas tree last week, Rev. Franklin Graham said that Trump had gone above and beyond the call of duty in being a voice and a warrior for people of faith.
“Never in my lifetime have we had a president willing to take a strong, outspoken stand for the Christian faith like President Donald J. Trump has,” Graham wrote. “Whether you are Protestant, evangelical, Orthodox, Catholic – all Christians need to get behind him with our prayers.”
Trump raised eyebrows with an unapologetically Christian-themed speech at the tree lighting – a marked change from the irreligious themes that were a favorite of former President Barack Obama. “For Christians this is a holy season, the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” Trump said. “The Christmas story begins 2,000 years ago with a mother, a father, their baby son, and the most extraordinary gift of all – the gift of God’s love for all of humanity.
“Whatever our beliefs we know that the birth of Jesus Christ and the story of this incredible life forever changed the course of human history,” he continued. “There’s hardly an aspect of our lives today that His life has not touched – art, music, culture, law and our respect for the sacred dignity of every person, everywhere in the world.”

To American Christians who have watched their faith in Jesus turn into a near-anachronism in today’s increasingly-multicultural liberal landscape, it is unimaginably refreshing to hear a U.S. president forgo the niceties and get right to the meat of the matter. A blatantly religious speech at the start of a religious holiday doesn’t necessarily change the culture overnight, but it does bring the power of the bully pulpit back where it belongs. Instead of constantly criticizing and apologizing for Christianity, the way Obama did, Trump has dispensed with the political correctness in his recognition of this country’s founding faith.
Donald Trump is hardly an icon for the “Christian life,” but there’s a reason why so many evangelicals – both prominent and rank-and-file – see him as their last, best hope to turn America around. His steadfast unwillingness to buckle under the pressure of the mainstream, liberal culture makes him impervious to the crashing waves of multiculturalism that felled so many previous conservatives. He doesn’t pretend to be holier than thou, and it is in his willingness to get down and dirty – to fight it out to the death – that he has become one of American Christianity’s greatest modern champions.

********************************************

The aforementioned article by Franklin Graham is profoundly true.  All Christians are amazed at Trump’s boldly proponing the Christian faith, and his support of the nation of Israel.  I consider it to be a miracle that he was elected in the first place, and am truly humbled by what he has accomplished in his first ten months in office.  His policies seem very pro American, so I am very surprised how much the mainstream media, Democrats, many Republicans, and many other people groups truly despise everything he stands for!  Given the bizarre world view of so many liberals and millennials, I do not expect this window to be open very long, whereas we are blessed with a president who holds the Judeo Christian ethic in high regard.  I honestly hope that I am wrong.  Pray for President Donald Trump and for those who will succeed him as president.  I fear if extreme liberals become elected one more time, we will never get our nation back.  Praise the Lord for this president and pray fervently for him and for all that he stands for.  In Christ, Pastor Steve  <><

The Story Behind the Christmas Carol… “Go Tell It On The Mountain”

The Story Behind the Christmas Carol… “Go Tell It On The Mountain”
December 09 2017
Written by: Prophecy in the News

songmusic

When something really fantastic happens, what is the first thing you want to do?
Tell someone, of course!
The spiritual, “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” does just that.

The Negro spiritual was created out of need for expression and communication. It was used by slaves to relay coded messages concerning directions for escapes without the knowledge of plantation masters. Many times these coded messages used biblical names and terms to relate their meaning. Harriet Tubman, the great conductor of the Underground Railroad, was known as General Moses. The words “seeker” and “watchman” in “Go Tell It on the Mountain” most likely refer to an escaping slave seeking freedom and the plantation overseer respectively. Another spiritual “Follow the Drinking Gourd” refers to the north star of the constellation Big Dipper as the direction to follow to find freedom in the North. The slaves could sing these songs without notice from the white plantation owners and overseers.

slaves-on-plantation

The spiritual was also a means of expression. The bondage of slavery was hard to bear. Some of the spiritual songs of the black man were centered on the biblical stories of the Hebrews (who were in slavery in Egypt) and Moses (their Deliverer). Death was viewed as an escape from this bondage, so likewise should be taken that there are few spirituals about the nativity or the birth of Jesus. It is suggested that this may be a result of the slaves’ hope in an Almighty God, a Deliverer, and an all-powerful Deity who could lead them to the promised land of freedom rather than a vulnerable infant.
Spirituals were first noted in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. During this time, white evangelists introduced to the imported slaves the concept of Christianity using many of the songs of the white church to teach biblical stories. The slaves, with their African roots, tempered the songs to create a new genre. The African influence of syncopation and pentatonic melodies were matched with white harmonies and lyrics to create a new and distinct concept. The songs were passed orally by generations, with each generation modifying the songs. There appears to be little written documentation of the music of the Negro until the late nineteenth century.

fisk-university

Fisk University, created after the Civil War in 1866 in Nashville, Tennessee, in a former Union fort, was established for the education of emancipated slaves.

In October of 1871, the Fisk Singers were organized in an effort to raise funds for the new school, which was quickly falling into disrepair on limited funds. At first, the singers sang standard and classical selections, without much success. As former slaves or children of slaves, they were well acquainted with spirituals, cabin songs, plantation songs and Jubilee songs, which were composed for religious reasons. These songs were sung among the Singers themselves but were not shared in their concerts. After mediocre acceptance and likewise monetary offerings, the group began to include a few of these songs in their repertoire.   the-fisk-jubilee-singers

Ella Shepherd, a member of the Singers, was a group’s assistant director and a great resource for these songs of the slaves, which had been passed to her by her mother.

ella-shepherd

George Leonard White, the group’s director, took note of the response of the audience whenever a spiritual was sung. The quietness of the audience, the tears that appeared, and the applause that followed convinced him that the Negro spiritual was the Singers vehicle to fame and acceptance. At first, the members were reluctant to perform what were considered personal and intimate songs of george-leonard-whitetheir faith and their people, learned behind closed doors of slavery from parents and grandparents. At a concert held at Oberlin College in Ohio, the group included the spiritual “Steal Away.” All talking ceased and soft weeping could be heard as the ensemble, being moved to tears themselves, voiced the musical renderings of their hearts. The audience was amazed. Word spread from the congregation. Letters and telegrams were sent out from the listeners urging churches and other towns to invite the singers.

This musical triumph encouraged White to add more spirituals to the performances. He also named the singers the “Jubilee” Singers. After prayer and inspiration, he felt the singers should take their name from the Bible. In Jewish custom, in the fiftieth year, slaves were set free and debts were forgiven as documented in Leviticus 25. From then on, the group was known as the Fisk Jubilee Singers.  the-fisk-jubilee-singers

In December 1871, the group sang for the weekly prayer meeting at the Plymouth Church of Brooklyn, which included some of the most influential families in henry-ward-beecherAmerica and was pastured by the famous Henry Ward Beecher. The new repertoire was on the line. It was make or break time, both musically and financially, for the weary group. Unless a substantial offering was received here, the group would not have funds to return home to Nashville. As the rich dark tones of the students’ voices sang out, the congregation grew still. At the concert’s conclusion, Beecher jumped to his feet with $5 in his hand. He encouraged all his members to follow suit and support these students. After that night, everyone wanted to have the Jubilee Singers to perform for them.
The Fisk Jubilee Singers toured the world, singing at such venues as the White House for President Ulysses S. Grant and for Queen Victoria in England. They continued across Europe singing in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In Scotland and Ireland, their individual and collective tales of rising from slavery were written in books that sold out to adoring fans. They found themselves performing for heads of state and dignitaries in some of the world’s most famous concert halls. However, their fame was marred with incidents of hostility against their race, especially in their own country. After performing for the President at the White House, they were thrown out of their hotel because of their race. The group raised over $150,000 for Fisk University and introduced to the world the sacred hymns and songs of their ancestors.

In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, John W. Work, Jr. and his brother Frederick J. Work, began collecting and promoting the spirituals of slavery. The song, “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” was published in the Brothers’ book Folk Songs of the American Negro. In this publication, the song was arranged in anthem style with verses and refrain, making it more easily accessible to the average singer. The song gained popularity because of its energetic and enthusiastic message. It had been popularized by the Fisk Singers but was not written and arranged until it appeared in this book.

religious-folk-songsIt also appeared in Thomas Fenner’s book, Religious Folk Songs of the Negro, As Sung on the Plantations, in 1909. The song was also published in a sequel collection by the Work brothers in 1915. Son John W. Work III continued the legacy started by his father and uncle by uncovering the saving spirituals and publishing them in his book American Negro Songs and Spirituals in 1940. He traveled hundreds of miles collecting songs from former slaves, transcribing them and preserving them for future generation.

mahalia-jackson

Noted vocalist Mahalia Jackson was one of the first to record the song. She made the song famous with her rendition. Jackson was the bridge from slavery to recognition with what was termed as an African-American voice as supposed to the voice of a slave. The song, deeply rooted in the black church, is now popular in all religious venues. The song is one of proclamation, excitingly declaring the glorious Christmas story from the mountain top and even further, “over the hills and everywhere.” It is a song of hope revealed. It is a declaration prompted by the arrival of the “Deliverer” who came from heaven’s lofty realms to a lowly manger to provide redemption for a needy and desperate people. What other motivation is needed to sing from the mountains than “Jesus Christ is born!”?
In 2004, William Studwell, noted musicologist and one of the world’s foremost experts on Christmas carols, named the spiritual “Carol of the Year” for 2004.

Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere;
Go tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born!
When I was a seeker
I sought both night and day;
I ask the Lord to help me
And He show me the way.
Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere;
Go tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born!
He made me a watchman
Upon a city wall,
And if I am a Christian
I am the least of all.
Go tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere;
Go tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born!

Advent: Jesus Is Coming, and This Time It’s Different

News Image

TV commercials, radio stations, and shopping malls are all proclaiming that it’s the Christmas season! But actually, it isn’t.

Last Sunday, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, in churches all around the world, the Gospel reading was Matthew 25:31-46.

The passage opens with words that should make our hearts soar, or, perhaps, shiver with dread: “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”

As the passage makes clear, Christ’s second coming will be very different from his first. He will return in glory, not obscurity. He will return as the King of the Universe, not as a nobody in an obscure corner of the Roman Empire. And this time, He will do the judging.

This, and not shopping, or who saw whom kissing Santa Claus underneath the mistletoe, is what we’re supposed to be thinking about these next four weeks, the season known as Advent.

Now if you’re wondering, “Wait, isn’t this the Christmas season?” the answer is, well, “no.” Of course, we wouldn’t know that from watching television, where some networks have been running “Christmas” movies–none of which ever mention Jesus–since late October.

Beginning Sunday, December 3rd through Christmas Eve, many Christian traditions celebrate the season of Advent. The word “Advent” comes from the Latin word adventus meaning “come to.” Thus, Advent is the season Christians anticipate the celebration of God’s coming to live and die as one of us. And to better appreciate the immensity of that gift, we are to put ourselves in the place of ancient Israel which yearned for the promised Messiah who would set things right.

One of the ways to do this is through hymns. The ancient Advent carol “Creator of the Stars of Night,” which dates from the 7th century, expresses this Old Testament yearning in a way that has literally stood the test of time.

“Thou, grieving that the ancient curse/ Should doom to death a universe/ Hast found the medicine, full of grace/ To save and heal a ruined race,” the hymn reads.

The “medicine” required to “save and heal a ruined race” was Jesus, as Paul told the Philippians, emptying himself and becoming obedient to death.

But that’s not the entire story. We also sing “At Whose dread Name, majestic now/ All knees must bend, all hearts must bow/ And things celestial Thee shall own/ And things terrestrial, Lord alone.”

That’s because Advent is not only a time of anticipating Christ’s first coming but also anticipating the next and final time Jesus comes to Earth. And, I repeat, this coming will be very different from the first: The same Jesus who was born in Bethlehem during the reign of Caesar Augustus will return as the “judge of the living and the dead,” and “his kingdom will have no end.”

This makes Advent not only a time of reflection, but also a time of repentance. This season is a time to examine our lives and ask ourselves whether we are sheep or goats. Are we living, as Paul wrote to the Corinthians, for ourselves or for Him who died for us and rose again?

WAITING For Christmas ~ WAITING For Christ’s First Coming ~ WAITING For His Second Coming

Our Daily Bread

Read: Micah 5:2–4
Bible in a Year: Ezekiel 45–46; 1 John 2

Bethlehem . . . out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel.—Micah 5:2
“How much longer until it’s Christmas?” When my children were little, they asked this question repeatedly. Although we used a daily Advent calendar to count down the days to Christmas, they still found the waiting excruciating.
We can easily recognize a child’s struggle with waiting, but we might underestimate the challenge it can involve for all of God’s people. Consider, for instance, those who received the message of the prophet Micah, who promised that out of Bethlehem would come a “ruler over Israel” (5:2) who would “stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord” (v. 4). The initial fulfillment of this prophecy came when Jesus was born in Bethlehem (Matt. 2:1) —after the people had waited some 700 years. But some of the prophecy’s fulfillment is yet to come. For we wait in hope for the return of Jesus, when all of God’s people will “live securely” and “his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth” (Mic. 5:4). Then we will rejoice greatly, for our long wait will be over.
Most of us don’t find waiting easy, but we can trust that God will honor His promises to be with us as we wait (Matt. 28:20). For when Jesus was born in little Bethlehem, He ushered in life in all its fullness (see John 10:10)—life without condemnation. We enjoy His presence with us today while we eagerly wait for His return. —Amy Boucher Pye

We wait, Father God, and we hope. We wait, dear Jesus, as we long for peace to break out. We wait, comforting Spirit, for all the world to experience Your love.
We wait for God’s promises, believing they will come true.

INSIGHT: Christ’s second coming is also the theme of several New Testament passages. As Christ ascended into heaven, the angels told His disciples that Christ “will come back in the same way” they saw Him go (Acts 1:11). Jesus said His return would be unannounced and could occur at any moment; therefore, we are to “Be on guard! Be alert!” (Mark 13:33-37). The early Christians believed that Jesus’s return was “almost here” (Rom. 13:11-14). The apostle James encouraged believers to “be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near” (James 5:8; see also Rev. 1:3). The anticipation that Jesus could come any moment led some Christians in Thessalonica to become idle, quitting their jobs and waiting for Him to return. But Paul told them to get back to work and live meaningful lives (2 Thess. 3:11-13).
“While we [patiently] wait for the blessed hope” (Titus 2:13)—that wonderful day of Jesus’s return—we can ask the Spirit to help us to live “holy and godly lives . . . spotless, blameless and at peace with him” (2 Peter 3:11, 14).
In what ways can you enjoy God’s presence today as you wait for Jesus’s return?    Sim Kay Tee

Rick Warren’s Heresy And Lies Are Further Unveiled ~ Compiled By James Sundquist

III. 2017 UPDATE ON RICK WARREN’S GLOBAL PEACE PLAN
RICK WARREN/KAGAME GLOBAL PEACE PLAN ALLIANCE

Now there are 196 countries in the world. Rick Warren identified Purpose Driven Countries, based on his list of even potential Purpose Driven Countries from above list, is twelve nations. 12 divided by 196 = .06 or 6% of the world’s countries that would be in Rick Warren’s matrix. Again this is assuming that every single country on his Global Peace Plan is, or has gone Purpose Driven Country. The only country that is in reality listed as an official PDC Country is Rwanda, which has now rejected him, and the Rwandan Embassy in Washington D.C. Confirmed on March 16, 2017, said there is no official connection to Rick Warren’s regarding calling Rwanda a Purpose Driven Country. Also see:

“according to AfroAmerican Network sources in Kinshasa. … We praise God for the fact that Rick Warren has not been in Rwanda for a while,”

https://www.afroamerica.net/index.php/world/598-american-pastor-rick-warren-no-longer-wanted-by-god-and-by-general-paul-kagame-in-rwanda-says-rwandan-inter-faith-head

http://glpost.com/kagame-is-left-with-four-godfathers-preacher-rick-warren-jumped-ship/

SUMMARY OF PURPOSE DRIVEN COUNTRY CALCULATIONS:

Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Countries Percentage of earth by square miles = 8%

Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Countries Percentage of earth by population = 14%

Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Countries (12) Percentage of total number of countries on the earth (196) = 6%

Do these figures constitute a Global Peace Plan to you?

And, like Warren’s boast about his PDL book sales being the best-selling hardback book in history, which raises the obvious question, who was second in sales, likewise, which country is the Second Purpose Driven Country, if Rwanda is First? Fifth? 54Th? Where is there a list? If there is such a list, it would be a list of one, at one point, but now would be zero. The fact is that the truth and the true number of Rick Warren Purpose Driven Countries percentage is closer to zero percent. Now one of my close friends once told me many years ago when I was touring the country in concert ministry when I was discouraged about concert attendance. He had both the wisdom of being a Christian songwriter and concert minister himself, but grew up in a legendary Gospel music singing family. I will never forget what he said to me: “Which is better, ten thousand screaming fans, or one whole person from your music ministry?” This edifying word of exhortation is something I will never forget. The point here is that the Great Commission and ministry is not a contest. The Apostle Paul rebuked Christians in Colossians for doing this. But it is Rick Warren that has turned this into a contest in his so-called God’s dream for him and God’s dream for you, with his Global Peace Plan. So where in Scripture does it tell us that God dreams? Is this God’s Dream, or God’s Nightmare? Rick Warren compares his Global Peace Plan to Nehemiah’s Wall. But Nehemiah succeeded in his righteous act of building the wall around Jerusalem. Warren tries to call Nehemiah’s building of the wall a “vision”. Really? Who’s vision? There is nothing in the Book of Nehemiah about a vision. The Prophets Moses, Ezekiel, Micah and Daniel had visions, clearly recorded in Scripture as such. Nehemiah did not! Then Warren would have us believe that God gave Nehemiah a dream (to build the wall). I challenge everyone out there to do your own search in the Book of Nehemiah, and show me one verse where the word “dream” even occurs, let alone that God gave Nehemiah a dream. So not only did Rick Warren get the facts wrong about the Book of Nehemiah, he has misappropriated what applied only to Nehemiah for himself and applied it to the Church today! This is also highly presumptuous that his Global Peace Plan is for the the entire church, not just his church or Purpose Driven Network. Read the entire book for yourself. Rick Warren wrongly presumes that his Global Peace Plan is from God. It should be obvious at this point that it could not have been from the Lord. Warren’s wall has collapsed…total failure! Warren’s wall more closely resembles the Walls of Jericho, than it does the Nehemiah’s Wall. Rick Warren is no Nehemiah. Numbers, Numbers, Numbers as he boasts with both his book sales and number of countries he as recruited or hopes to integrate into his Global Peace Plan! And it has been more than a decade since he launched this Global Peace Plan, and this is all he has to show for it? (Using his argument, not mine!) What a track record! And what a contrast what the Macedonia’s would have had in their report on the Apostle Paul vs. Rwanda’s report on Rick Warren! And what a model for Rick Warren to call RWANDA the “NATIONAL MODEL” for his entire GLOBAL PEACE PLAN? (This is nothing against the nation of RWANDA or its people, but Warren’s own catastrophic failure of his own Global Peace Plan blueprints for the total of 196 nations on the earth (the Globe)). In fact, let’s look more closely at what Rwanda really thinks about Rick Warren:
Rick Warren’s first Purpose Driven Country, Rwanda, has virtually rejected him. See:
http://www.holybibleprophecy.org/?s=Rwanda
and
There was a story that just ran in Rwanda in September 2016, documenting that his program there has completely collapsed.
Here is the story:

SOURCES (COMPILATION): PREPARED 2017

Zondervan (Harper/Collins) and Rick Warren would have us believe that 32 million sales of his PDL book make his the “bestselling nonfiction hardback book in history” when is takes hundreds of millions of sales to even make the top ten in history, and billions of sales to be #1 or #2. Furthermore, George Slowick, the President of Publishers Weekly totally disavows the claim that Warren and Zondervan attribute to PW.

Rick Warren’s (and Zondervan’s) Public Relations firm issued this false advertising press release which you likely also received, believing it to be true:

“After 10 unprecedented years as the best-selling non-fiction hardback in history, Rick Warren’s The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For? is being re-tooled and re-released by Zondervan”

What this statement means is that you are claiming that the PDL book was also the bestselling book in history in 2002, as the above PR was in 2012, and continued to hold that ranking every year since through 2012. They posted that this book had sold 30 million by 2007. This is an average of 6 million books per year, or approximately 6 million in the first year (2002). So by whose authority renders 6 million as bestseller in history in 2002, and which author was eclipsed, and where is the ranking list which would show that author now #2?

But his PDL book had not even sold 6 million in the first year. Proof:

“By January, 2003 The Purpose Driven Life had sold 500,000 copies and was awarded the Gold Book Award. Just two months later it had crossed the 1 million threshold and was awarded the Platinum Book Award.”

Purpose Driven Life was award the Gold Book Award for having sold 500,000 copies by January 2003, and had sold 1 million by March 2003, by Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA). But this total pitifully short of being the bestselling nonfiction hardback book in its first year, or any year since. I don’t have an issue with the number of books Warren sold, but not telling the truth about the book sales.

At first I was willing to give Larry Ross Communications the benefit of the doubt, and that they were simply passing on and promoting what Rick Warren and Zondervan were feeding them. But now they know with certainly that this claim is fraudulent and farcical! But the fact is Warren’s book was NEVER the bestselling nonfiction hardback book in history in any year or any of the combined total for all of these years. You must certainly know this claim is fraudulent and farcical! But the fact is Warren’s book was NEVER the bestselling nonfiction hardback book in history in any year or any of the combined total for all of these years.

In this regard, we are both aware of the following Scriptures (that I am confident you agree with):

“…we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:” Isaiah 28:15
“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” 2 John 9-11
Finally, Christianity is about TRUTH and the the Way the TRUTH, and the Life, which is Jesus Christ himself. So to promote falsehood to tens of millions, and training them in it, is the antithesis of Christianity and brings shame upon the Name of Jesus Christ.

This proves with certainty that Warren/Zondervan and PR Firm A. Larry Ross have committed fraud and false advertising, and fake endorsement (attribution).

Sincerely in Christ

I. 2017 RICK WARREN UPDATE ON PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE SALES CLAIM

For your reference here is what Rick Warren posted this on his Purpose Driven website for his Global Peace Plan website:

Purpose Driven Life is “the bestselling nonfiction hardback book in history” (attributed to Publishers Weekly…meaning number 1):

BESTSELLING NONFICTION HARDCOVER (BACK) BOOKS IN HISTORY RANKING LIST:

*****
I recently received an email from Os Guinness (Guinness Book of Records). He spoke at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church. He said he teased Rick Warren that the Guinness Book of Records sold more books than Warren’s PDL Book. He would know. But Guinness own site states 138 million sold. They sell 2.5 million per year. So in 2012 that figure would have been about 123 million, when Warren had sold 32 million, when they made their claim they attributed to PW. That is about 7 times Warren’s sales (both are nonfiction). But even 123 million does not make the top ten.
Now for anyone to name their book as number one, it always comes from a list. Where is the list? All other books in top twenty, 50, or 100, lists the book and the number as well as the ranking of everyone who is NOT number one.

Rick Warren’s book is not even in the top ten Christian bestsellers list (a few of these are fiction, so this would bring Warren within the top ten…but his claim is ALL nonfiction hardback books):

“Other than the Bible, which is the far and away the best-
selling Christian book of all time with sales in the billions,
here is my list for your consideration:
The Imitation of Christby Thomas à Kempis (1418) – Sales Unknown, but widely regarded as the best-selling Christian title after the Bible.
Book of Common Prayer (various editions starting in mid 16th Century) – 300 million (estimated)
Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan (1678) – 250 million
Foxe’s Book of Martyrs by John Foxe (1563) – 150 million

Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien (1954) – 150 million
The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien (1937) – 142 million
The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis (1950) – 85 million
Steps to Christ by Ellen White (1892) – 60 million (estimated)
Ben Hur by Lew Wallace (1880) – 50 million
The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey (1970) – 35 million
In His Steps by Charles Sheldon (1896) – 30 million
The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren (2002) – 30 million
The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale (1952) – 20 million
The Shack by William Paul Young (2007) – 20 million
The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri (1320) – 12 million (in last 150+ years)
The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman (1995) – 10 million+
Jesus Calling by Sarah Young (2004) – 10 million+
Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo (2010) – 10 million+
More Than A Carpenter by Josh McDowell (1977) – 10 million+
The Prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkinson (2000) – 10 million+
The Total Woman by Marabel Morgan (1974) – 10 million
The Gospel According to Peanuts, Robert Short (1965) – 10 million”

Rick Warren and his publisher Zondervan (now Harper-Collins) claim that Publishers Weekly stated that Rick Warren’s is “the bestselling non-fiction hardback book in history.” If this were true, Warren’s book would appear on PW’s own website list of best selling non-fiction books in history. PW does have such a top 25 list, here it is, and Rick Warren is not on it!:
https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/nielsen/HardcoverNonfiction.html

Note in the link that Publishers Weekly uses Nielsen tracking, one of the most reputable bookselling sales tracking and ranking companies in the world. PW can supply you with sales figures for EVERY year since 1998. Secondly, note that on that link PW and the industry at large does not use the term “hardback”, rather they use the term “hardcover”.

For example, you can type in Publishers Weekly site search engine any book such as Purpose Driven Life, or Southern Baptist author Daniel Darling’s IFAITH book:
https://www.publishersweekly.com/978-1-59669-294-7

The printed version of the review in Publishers Weekly shows the page number. In the case of Darling’s book, page 54, and date of the PW Issue: December 13, 2010. Furthermore, you can see that every book review on PW shows the author of the review.

Go to Publishers Weekly search engine to verify anything Publishers Weekly ever said about any book. In other words, if a statement is made by Publishers Weekly about a book, it is in Publishers Weekly.

One more thing here is a statement by George Slowik, President of Publishers Weekly regarding Rick Warren’s statement about his PDL book:

George W. Slowik, President of Publishers Weekly:
“I’ve checked our site which includes all of our content from about 1995.
Also touched base with our religion editors and there is no finding of a
quote like that…We don’t generally use the term hardback.” September 30, 2013 11:33:08 PM EDT

If people don’t believe my report, call Publishers Weekly yourself and ask to speak their President George Slowik or their chief religion editor, Lynn Garrett. Did you ever verify this claim yourself. If not, you should verify this. But I am surprised no one at your church, Warren’s Church, or Zondervan editors never questioned the validity of this claim. Here is PW’s tel. #: 212-377-5705 or 212-377-5703

‘Ignorant Infidels’ In U.S. May Have To Be ‘Forced’ To Accept Islam

 News Image

Radical imams from Virginia, Maryland and Texas recently attended a fund-raising event organized by an Islamist charity in which they were treated to a smorgasbord of teachings from foreign-based Islamic thinkers.

“The word ‘stick’ in Urdu is a common term used in south Asia to reference the use of force,” Rehan told WND in an email.

Rehan said he went undercover into Islamist meetings in his native Pakistan before he was forced to flee the country.

“Due to threats from these organizations I had to flee the country twice, once in 2009 and then the last time in 2012,” Rehan said. He now works out of Washington, D.C.

Even other Muslims who eschew jihad are under threat from mainstream Sunni Islam in America.

It’s no coincidence that Muslim leaders are talking about using the “stick” to whip American infidels into shape, says Rehman, the journalist who went undercover at the day-long event in Springfield, Virginia.

Among the “infidels” named at the Springfield conference was the moderate Shia sect of Ahmadiyya, who believe in a prophet who came after Muhammad and are therefore considered heretical by the majority of mainstream Muslims.

Here is one of the tweets from journalist Rehan that includes video from the conference:

Radical Islamists hold gathering and fundraiser in the U.S. state of #Virginia, urge use of force against minority #Ahmadiyya Muslims, say one of the biggest threat the Muslim community is facing today is how women are being “urged to go outside of their homes” #Springfield pic.twitter.com/kdpQmVAMmB

Commenting on the dangers faced by Islam, Ludhianvi said:

“The biggest threat that Islam is facing today is the disruption of the family system, for which they [west] are urging women to go out of their homes.”

Last year in his magazine, Ludhainvi issued a fatwa (decree) stating that the “use of cellphone by women in public places was against Islam” and so was wearing “high heel shoes.”

The event in Springfield was organized by two U.S. registered charities, Idara Dawat-O-Irshad and Khatme Nubuwwat Center, both of which enjoy IRS tax-exempt status.

The registration desk in the hotel was manned by teenagers who displayed flyers and posters denouncing the founder of the moderate Ahmadiyya sect. An exhibition booth lined with posters urged Muslims to not vote for “non-Muslim candidates.”

The event particularly targeted the Ahmadis, about 15,000 to 20,000 of whom reside in the United States, many of them refugees from Muslim-majority countries where they are persecuted. Many of the conference speakers accused the Ahmadis of being “infidels” and criticized them for having “abolished jihad,” according to Rehan’s undercover report.

During a question-and-answer session, Ludhianvi warned the U.S. government to “stop giving refuge to the adherents of the Qadiani faith [Ahmadis],” who he claimed were worse than Jews and Christians.

The conference ended with organizers urging the attendees to donate $100 each to pay for the expenses of the “cause,” Rehan noted. The organizers also thanked the “Karahi Kabob” restaurant owner for providing free food to the conference attendees.

The prime delicacy was offered up by keynote speaker Habib-ur-Rehman Ludhianvi, a visiting Islamic cleric from Pakistan.  Ludhiavi believes America is a “land of infidels,” whom he described as “ignorant.” His comments are a ringing example of what Muslim leaders say when they are behind closed doors and in the company of other Muslims, as opposed to the public comments meant for gullible infidel ears, security experts tell WND.

Ehsan Rehan fled his native Pakistan and works as a journalist in Washington, D.C.

The only reason the public knows what was said inside the Nov. 18 conference at a Holiday Inn in Springfield, Virginia, is because the gathering was infiltrated by Ehsan Rehan, the brave Pakistani-born journalist and editor of Rabwah Times who went undercover and captured video and audio.

The keynote speaker, Ludhianavi, is leader of the Islamic seminary Dar-ul-Uloom, which is based in Pakistan but operates branches in the United States, Canada and the U.K., including one in St. Paul, Minnesota, that opened in a former Catholic church in 2014. There’s another in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and others in Warren, Michigan, and San Bernardino, California.

On 12 Mile Road in Warren, the Darul Uloom Islamic Center and School is one of many Dar ul-Uloom madrassas that former Homeland Security officer and whistleblower Philip Haney has tracked and described as radical. Haney said San Bernardino terrorist Syed Farooq attended a Dar ul-Uloom mosque in that city and exchanged repeated text messages with the mosque’s imam in the months leading up to his attack on an office Christmas party that killed 14 Americans in December 2015.

What do YOU think? Is Islam a threat to Christianity in America? Sound off in the WND Poll!

Darul ul-Uloom mosque on 12 Mile Road in Warren, Michigan
The Dar ul-Uloom mosque in San Bernardino is a haven for activists involved with Tablighi Jamaat – a fundamentalist, proselytizing Islamic sect known in some circles as the “Army of Darkness.”
“Dar ul-Uloom are the evangelists of the Islamic world,” Haney told WND. “They emphasize children memorizing the Quran.”

According to its website, “Darul Uloom Michigan has been sincerely serving the Muslim community since its inception, and by the grace of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), it is now a notable Islamic seminary with students of all ages from across North America.”

At the Virginia conference, Ludhianvi advised a sort of carrot and stick approach to conquering American minds for Islam, starting with heretical Muslims who don’t believe in jihad. He said:
They are ignorant and there is no need for dialogue with them, God has given them two options, one is the holy book and one is the stick and if one does not accept the holy book they have to be forced.
The imam’s use of the word “stick” should not be overlooked.

On the same day Ludhianavi was speaking at the conference in Virginia, another U.S. Muslim leader, Jaylani Hussein, was speaking at a symposium in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where he told a group gathered at the public library:
I understand that our organization [CAIR] comes under threat. I know why we come under attack. It’s not because of our silence. It’s because we carry a big stick.

Scary Video Of The Future – AI & Autonomous Weapons Will Change Everything

Watch The Mind Boggling Video Below.  Are These Potential Tools For The Coming New World Order?

News Image

Imagine a world in which people who hold a certain political ideology could be sought out and summarily executed with surgical precision using autonomous microdrones and with no collateral damage. While this may seem like a great way to eliminate terrorist organizations like ISIS or Al-Qaeda, it could also be used by them to wipe you out.

As the Future of Life Institute points out, autonomous weapons can select and engage targets without human intervention.

They might include, for example, armed quadcopters that can search for and eliminate people meeting certain pre-defined target criteria such as age, sex, ethnicity or even use big data to incorporate a profile that shows religious affiliation, groups you have liked on Facebook, websites you have visited, places you have been or even items you have purchased.

Nothing is truly private and creating a target profile is quite easy – just ask any major advertiser. Thanks to facial recognition technology and the prevalence of surveillance technology there is no place to hide.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has reached a point where the deployment of such systems is — practically if not legally — feasible within years, not decades, and the stakes are high: autonomous weapons have been described as the third revolution in warfare, after gunpowder and nuclear arms.

All the technology to assemble these machines which would carry out autonomous assassination exists right now. However, as far as the public is concerned, it has not yet been implemented to the point we see in the ominous video below which was created by the Future of Life Institute to raise awareness to this encroaching dystopian reality.

We encourage you to watch it to the end for the full impact of what is being presented as a potential future scenario if left unchecked:

Read the following commentary about the demonic locusts mentioned in Revelation 9.  The above video reminds me of this chapter:

The Locusts and Their King
Visitors to a recent exhibit at the Museum of Science in Boston viewed huge models of a number of common garden insects, enlarged hundreds of times over. Such a visit makes us all grateful that God created the world and its creatures on the scale he did! John, building on the prophet Joel’s comparisons of locusts to lions (Joel 1:6) or to horses galloping into battle (Joel 2:4), affords us a terrifying glimpse of what a different scale might look like. Such comparisons also occur in Middle Eastern poetry and folklore, both ancient and modern (see Beasley-Murray 1974:162). John’s vivid description (vv. 7-10) serves to underscore and heighten the horror of the preceding account of the demonic invasion. We learn, for example, that the scorpion like authority (v. 3) of the locusts was no abstraction, but that John perceived them with actual tails and stings like scorpions (v. 10), with the power to inflict intense physical pain. Small wonder that in those days people will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them (v. 6).
The awful description ends by introducing the locusts’ king, the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon (v. 11). The Hebrew Abaddon is commonly translated “Destruction,” and it is closely associated with “death” or “the grave” (see Job 26:6; 28:22; Ps 88:11; Prov 15:11). But instead of the word normally found in ancient Greek translations of these passages (Apoleia, “Destruction”), John uses the personalized Apollyon (“Destroyer”), in keeping with his point that this destructive power is personal–both a king and an angel. John Bunyan, in The Pilgrim’s Progress, transformed Apollyon into an almost human adversary. Even though he had “scales like a fish . . . wings like a dragon, feet like a bear, and out of his belly came fire and smoke, and his mouth was as the mouth of a lion,” Apollyon reasoned with Christian like any human enemy to turn him from the path to which he was called, and finally engaged him in single combat (Sharrock 1987:102-5). “In all but the name,” wrote H. B. Swete (1908:120), this Apollyon was “a creation of Bunyan.”
In the book of Revelation, Apollyon is personal but far from human. Some interpreters (for example, Caird 1966:120) identify this king, or angel of the Abyss, with the fallen star that first released the terrible locusts from the shaft of the Abyss (v. 1). Although stars can sometimes represent angels in John’s visions (as in 1:20), this angel is more likely one of the locusts from the Abyss. He is named in connection with John’s description of them, and like them belongs to the Abyss itself, just as the angels of the seven congregations belong to their respective congregations (1:20; chaps. 2-3) or “the angel of the waters” (NRSV) in a later vision belongs to the “rivers and springs of water” that are turned to blood (16:4-5).
The point of the naming is to call attention to the destructive effects of the locust invasion (Beckwith 1922:563), in much the same manner that the name “Wormwood” calls attention to the bitter effects of that figure. If the result of the third trumpet (8:11) was “bitterness,” the result of the fifth trumpet is “destruction.” A still further possibility is that the name “Apollyon” was intended also to suggest the Greek god Apollo, who in John’s time was widely associated with prophecy, and therefore in the minds of early Christians with false prophecy (see 6:1; Kerkeslager 1993:119). Just as “Wormwood” recalled biblical denunciation of false prophets (see Jer 23:15), so “Apollyon” calls to mind false prophecy in the Graeco-Roman world.
“Destruction” (whether in Hebrew or Greek) is more terrible than “bitterness,” yet a voice now breaks in to remind us that even this is not the end: The first woe is past; two other woes are yet to come (v. 12). Whether these are John’s words or words that he hears, they recall the threefold “woe” of the eagle flying overhead in 8:13 and are to be understood as a continuation or resumption of that announcement. The same will be true in 11:14. John does not reintroduce the vulture or eagle here, but its presence is implied.

Incredible 1,500-year-old Christian mosaic uncovered in Israel ~ November 27, 2017

Archaeologists in Israel have uncovered a stunning 1,500-year-old Christian mosaic that was once the floor of a church or monastery.
Experts found the mosaic during an excavation in the ancient Mediterranean coastal city of Ashdod-Yam, now part of the modern city of Ashdod. The discovery, which was made in August, was announced Thursday by the Israel Antiquities Authority.
An inscription in Greek dedicated to the structure’s builders offered archaeologists a vital clue. The inscription mentions a date on the ancient Georgian calendar, enabling experts to date the building.

“[By the grace of God (or Christ)], this work was done from the foundation under Procopius, our most saintly and most holy bishop, in the month Dios of the 3rd indiction, year 292” it reads. The year 292 corresponds to 539 A.D. “This is the earliest appearance of the use of the Georgian calendar in the Land of Israel, many years before it was used in Georgia itself,” explained Dr. Leah Di Segni of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, who deciphered the inscription, in a statement.
Experts from the Israel Antiquities Authority, Tel Aviv University, and the University of Gottingen and Leipzig University in Germany also participated in the project.
Ashdod-Yam was an important city during the Byzantine period. Long hidden under sand dunes, the city is now revealing its secrets. “As far as we know, Ashdod is now home to the largest community of Jews of Georgian origin in the world,” said Dr. Alexander Fantalkin of Tel Aviv University, Dr. Balbina Bäbler of the University of Göttingen, and Sa’ar Ganor of the Israel Antiquities Authority, in the statement. “Testimony to the presence of the actual Georgians in the Land of Israel as far back as the Byzantine period has been found dozens of kilometers from Ashdod – in Jerusalem and its surroundings. But this is the first time that a Georgian church or monastery has been discovered on the Israeli coast.”

The archaeologists note that, according to historical sources, the fifth-century Georgian Prince and Bishop Peter the Iberian lived in Ashdod-Yam.
Archaeologists are now working to raise additional funds to continue their excavation of the site.
The Ashdod-Yam mosaic floor is just the latest fascinating Christian archaeological find in Israel. An ancient Greek inscription, for example, was recently found on a 1,500-year-old mosaic floor near the Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem. The inscription mentions the Byzantine emperor Justinian, who ruled in the 6th century A.D., and commemorates the building’s founding by a priest called Constantine.
In 2015 a 1,500-year-old church was discovered at a Byzantine-era rest stop between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In 2014 the remains of another church from the same period were uncovered in southern Israel.
Experts also believe they have found the lost Roman city of Julias, formerly the village of Bethsaida, which was the home of Jesus’ apostles Peter, Andrew and Philip.
