Facebook has reportedly been in contact with both the Coinbase and Gemini cryptocurrency exchanges, looking to strike a deal with a third-party, regulated platform in which users could store and exchange the coin.
Mark Zuckerberg’s social media giant Facebook reportedly plans to release its own cryptocurrency in 2020 called “GlobalCoin.”
BBC News reports that social media giant Facebook has plans to launch a new digital cryptocurrency called “GlobalCoin” as early as 2020. The Silicon Valley tech giant reportedly plans to launch the cryptocurrency payment system in “a dozen countries” by the first quarter of 2020 and will begin trials of the coin by the end of 2019.
Facebook has reportedly reached out to a number of individuals and groups for advice, including the U.S. Treasury and Bank of England governor Mark Carney. Internally, the cryptocurrency project is being referred to as “Project Libra.” Facebook has reportedly been in contact with both the Coinbase and Gemini cryptocurrency exchanges, looking to strike a deal with a third-party, regulated platform in which users could store and exchange the coin.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has a personal history with the owners of the Gemini exchange, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. In a situation that was dramatized in the 2010 David Fincher film The Social Network, Mark Zuckerberg was accused of stealing the idea for Facebook from the Winklevoss twins while they studied at Harvard University. Now, the Winklevoss twins have become billionaires via investment into bitcoin and founding the Gemini digital currency exchange, with plans to launch a Gemini dollar cryptocurrency in the future.

Facebook reportedly plans to use GlobalCoin to help Facebook users transfer money online and make purchases easily. Facebook registered a new entity called “Libra Networks” on May 2nd, this will apparently “provide financial and technology services and develop related hardware and software.” Facebook will reportedly be aiming to raise as much as $1 billion to fund the cryptocurrency project.

The Secular Supreme Court’s Relentless Attack Upon The Judeo-Christian Ethic And The Foundation Of America

What is the “official religion of America.”

In a democratic republic, the citizens get the leadership they deserve. And rightly so. America’s ‘original’ 17th-century Founders placed God at the center of government and culture, thus establishing Christianity in a way as the “official religion of America.” Reading the thirteen Original Colonies State Charters and Constitutions, or the synopsis by William J. Federer will demonstrate the truth and correctness of this statement.1

Yet, contemporary America has grievously dishonored God. Eight secular U.S. Supreme Court Justices in 1963 replaced His worship with the new, false religion of Secularism in a nation “founded for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith.”2

The decision initiated the plunge toward an increasingly profane, irreverent culture, whose 21st-century youth is completely caught up in self-absorbed sensuality, indulgence and promiscuity. The edicts of purported reform by the liberal Warren Supreme Court (1953-1969) turned out to be nothing else than a crusade against standards.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s unholy crusade carries on unchanged:
– Removal of prayer from public education (1962).
– Removal of the Bible from public education (1963).
– Discovery of a constitutional right to kill babies (1973).
– Removal of the Ten Commandments from pubic school buildings (1980).
– Discovery of an occult, all-new constitutional right to homosexual intercourse
and marriage (2015).

One of the major sources of last century’s cultural friction in America would appear to be the judicial elites’ blatant ill-will towards God. All cloaked and concealed with serpentine skill, secularists have arrogated the culture laid down as Biblically-based by America’s Founders 400 years before.

Inverse to the Founders’ model, unhallowed decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court have somehow come to be accepted as ‘supreme’ mandates superordinate to the collective will of a ‘free people’. Where are the limits imposed in the Constitution on all branches of government by vesting in each branch the right to amend or void those acts of another that fall within its purview?

The job description of justices includes calling ‘balls and strikes’ but not ‘pitch or bat’. Court umpires don’t make the rules, they apply them. Yet, modern superior and inferior courts have randomly generated laws out of thin air, positioning themselves as America’s lordship.

Over the last century a pattern is beginning to emerge of Judges dabbling in religion, ethics, philosophy and psychology. Devising decrees and writs on who to worship (Abington School District v. Schempp), how to worship (Stone v. Graham) and defining moral law (Obergefell vs. Hodges), all fettered in conformity to their ‘nature’ instead of the spirit of God Jehovah. Only God determines good and evil, whereas the U.S. Supreme Court’s unholy crusade determines the nature of the transgression. Like Eve, Supreme Court Justices have eaten of the forbidden fruit, with the false demonic promise “You will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

In the American Founders’ model of government God was the well-spring of rights. The crux of the problem of squandering the Judeo-Christian culture is as Solomon points out in Proverbs 24:7: “Wisdom is beyond the fool’s reach.” The Founders, on the other hand, “were wise to not separate God from state. The placement of Judeo-Christian values and biblical morality into our founding documents and laws was clearly intentional.”3

Founder Benjamin Rush put the right words to it: “The only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty; and liberty is the object and life of all republican governments. … We waste so much time and money in punishing crimes and take so little pains to prevent them. We profess to be republicans and yet we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government, that is, the universal education of our youth in the principles of Christianity, by means of the Bible; for this divine book, above all others favors that equality among mankind, that respect for just laws.”

With this in mind, is it any surprise that modern America lost the culture?

Today’s ludicrous heathen gentry’s mantra that “Religion doesn’t belong in government; just ask the Founding Fathers” sets in a shrill light the abject failure of secular education. Those that buy into the pagan falsehood that “The First Amendment has made it clear that there can be no teaching of religion, including the Bible, in public education” are historically illiterate, having been sold a heap of secular moonshine.

Solomon expounds on the problem facing America that wisdom is beyond the fool’s reach. Wisdom’s currency cannot be acquired through secular education, inasmuch as the fool has no heart for understanding spiritual issues. The reason why spiritual wisdom and understanding, as it says in Proverbs 3:15, is “more precious than rubies; no valuables can match her” is that “money can put food on the table, but not fellowship around it, a house but not a home, and can give a woman jewelry but not the love she really wants.”4

God’s admonishment of “getting wisdom (whatever you do),” is to be taken with the understanding that the Hebrew word for ‘get’ is ‘buy’ or ‘purchase’. So whatever you do, obtain wisdom. For all seeking His wisdom, God has wisely placed His cookies on the bottom shelf. “What wisdom takes is not brains or opportunity, but decision. Do you want it? Come and get it.”5

Contemporary American politics has been sadly reduced to the lowest common denominator, i.e. Republicans versus Democrats.6

God be praised that Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to stand.

Why Are So Many People Dying As They Attempt To Climb Mount Everest? Answer: Pride And Greed

Another Everest death
Another person has died trying to climb the world’s tallest mountain.
Climbing expert Alan Arnette says on today’s podcast that a phenomenon called “summit fever” may be a contributing factor.

****************************

The above picture of folks climbing Mount Everest looks downright comical to me.  Mentally I have always seen the lone carefully prepared professional climbing team venturing out into the elements to perform such a feat.  Sir Edmund Hillary made headlines a generation ago, as his team performed this daring venture.  Now, adventure seekers are just adding another item to their bucket list.  The above photo looks like Grand Central Station.  One can see everything except a hot chocolate stand.  There are many reasons given for the eleven deaths (and counting) that have occurred while climbing the mountain this spring, including but not limited to inexperience, overcrowding, exhaustion, and the unpredictable bad weather.  The best reason may be the aforementioned “summit fever,” which may be better translated as the Devil’s sin that caused his ejection from heaven: PRIDE.  Eleven people found out that pride precedes a downfall.  I always hear foolhardy people say that they climb the mountain or go over Niagara Falls simply because “it is there.”  That is a very poor reason.  Hey, we have a septic tank that is emptied every five to six years, and when the cleaning company opens up the lid, I never feel like jumping in for a dip because “it is there.”  We live near the everglades, yet I do not feel led to tramp through this python and alligator infested real estate  because “it is there.”  Some things are best off to be observed and not experienced.  Another deadly sin for the many deaths on the mountain is GREED.  Three hundred and eighty one permits were given this year by the country of Nepal at $11,000 each!  Enough said.  When God judges our world and eternity becomes real for all of us, there will be absolutely no memory of those who scaled the summit of this 29,000+ foot mountain.  A door keeper in the house of the Lord will receive more of a reward than the scalers of this enormous rock.  Amen and amen.  Blessings, Pastor Steve  <><

It Does Not Matter How Awful Things Seem To Be / God Is ALWAYS In Charge

Habakkuk 2:20 King James Version (KJV)
“But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.”

Habakkuk lived during a time of rampant wickedness, failing morals and injustice: much like our day.  As he looked out over all of this he did not understand what God was doing or why He was doing it.  But he was willing to trust.  It is as if Habakkuk puts his finger to his lips and whispers, “Be quiet” – “Let all the earth keep silence before him.”  We may be perplexed today as to what God is doing globally and also in our own lives.  But He is still on the throne and quietly whispers to our hearts, Be still, and know that I am God”  (Psalms 46:10).   -Jim Comte

What Mean These Stones?

What Mean These Stones
BY HENRY M. MORRIS III, D.MIN. | MONDAY, MAY 27, 2019

“When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? Then ye shall let your children know.” (Joshua 4:21-22)

The poet George Santayana once said, “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” In the life of every nation, there are “memories” that must be preserved if that nation is to retain an awareness of its unique role among the nations of the world—indeed, among the long list of nations throughout history.

Long ago, God Himself instituted “memorials” so that the key events of history might be remembered. The rainbow was to remind God of His covenant to preserve life on the earth after the awful destruction of the Flood (Genesis 9:8-17). Jacob set up a stone after he had seen the ladder and spoken with the angel of the Lord (Genesis 28:12-22). Joseph insisted that the children of Israel take his bones with them into the land of promise (Genesis 50:25).

In our text, Joshua is told by the Lord to take 12 stones out of Jordan and make a monument to commemorate the beginning fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham centuries earlier. That day, Israel was to enter the “promised land” and start its conquest of Canaan.

The Memorial Day that we celebrate in the United States began with the ending of the Civil War. Since then, our country has added many memorials. Each of them, whether a mere plaque, a lone statue to a notable person, or a vast and sweeping edifice, are all intended to remember some significant event and the people who made history during that time. Typically, we honor the dead who paid the ultimate price that we might live on—and we should. There are others, though, whose sacrifices in time and treasure were enormous. May our thanks this day “remember” all of them. HMM III

Honoring Those Who Sacrificed Their All

Honoring Those Who Sacrifice Their All

Today we remember the men and women who gave their lives in military service. We thank God for their example of courage and selflessness that beautifully reflects John 15:13: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Let’s take a moment today to pray for their families, as well as for those currently serving in our Armed Forces.

**************************

Our Loving Father,
God of comfort and unfailing grace,
we pray for those who mourn loved ones today.
Surround them with your peace, strength, and provision.
Lord, protect those who continue to serve our country.
May your faithful promises be their shield.

Have a blessed Memorial Day.

DAYS OF PRAISE DAYS OF PRAISE
What God Requires
BY HENRY M. MORRIS, PH.D. | SUNDAY, MAY 26, 2019

“And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?” (Deuteronomy 10:12-13)

This sounds simple enough, and the people of Israel readily agreed with Moses to do these things. Modern religious liberals cite such a lifestyle as all that is necessary to satisfy God. But the rub is this: Who dares claim to “walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD [his] God with all [his] heart”? Anyone who makes such a claim would be breaking God’s commandment against lying.

Solomon reached a conclusion of like kind: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Indeed so, but who can “keep his commandments”? “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10).

Another favorite verse of the liberals is Micah 6:8: “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Yes, but the problem is that “there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Ecclesiastes 7:20).

There was one such man, of course! The Lord Jesus Christ “did no sin,” yet was willing to “bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness” (1 Peter 2:22-24). What we could never do, He has done for us. Now, through faith in the finished work of Christ, we have been set free from the bondage of sin and can indeed “have [our] fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life” (Romans 6:22). HMM

Why Does The Bible Mention Unicorns?

By Eric Hovind|Articles, Beginner

Mythical Unicorns In The Bible

Unicorns in the Bible—Mythical, Fairy Tale Creatures?
Unicorns are mentioned in the Bible nine times in the books of Numbers, Deuteronomy, Job, Psalms, and Isaiah and have become one of the “problematic” creatures referred to in Scripture. From our 21st-century understanding as presented in books and movies, we have come to think of this creature as a beautiful, magical, mythical horse. Thus, it has become an excuse for scoffers to dismiss the Bible as a book of fairy tales. However, a closer examination of the word’s origin and original English definition may give us a different picture.

The very first edition of Noah Webster’s dictionary in 1828 lists Websters First Dictionary clarifying unicorns in the bible“unicorn” with the following definition: “an animal with one horn, the monoceros. This name is often applied to the rhinoceros.” Notice that this definition says absolutely nothing about a horse, or a horse-like animal, or Greek mythology, or a mythical or fictitious creature. This definition simply states that this is a name that is often applied to the rhinoceros.
Yet, our present-day understanding of a rhinoceros is that of a two-horned animal. If we look up the word “rhinoceros” in the same 1828 dictionary, it defines rhinoceros as: “A genus of quadrupeds of two species, one of which, the unicorn, has a single horn growing almost erect from the nose. This animal when full grown is said to be 12 feet in length. There is another species with two horns, the bicornis. They are natives of Asia and of Africa.” According to Noah Webster, back in the early 1800s, it was understood that there were two species of the rhinoceros. The one-horned species was called unicorn and the two-horned species was called bicornis.

Rinos and Unicorns in the bible

Still today, the scientific name of the Asian one-horned rhinoceros is rhinoceros unicornis, and the scientific name for a two-horned rhinoceros is diceros bicornis.

Asian one-horned rhinoceros is rhinoceros unicornis, and the scientific name for a two-horned rhinoceros is diceros bicornis.

Both unicornis and bicornis are Latin words. Let’s look at these two words as found in the Latin Bible in two different Bible passages.
In Psalm 92:10, the psalmist is praying and says, “But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn.” Looking at this verse in a Latin Bible, the word “unicorn” is unicornis, the same scientific Latin name of the present-day Asian one-horned rhinoceros. The King James Bible translators transliterated this word “unicornis” as “unicorn.”
Looking at Deuteronomy 33:17 in a Latin Bible, this verse uses the Latin word rinocerotis, referring to a two-horned rhinoceros.
“His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.”
The King James translators transliterated this word, “rinocerotis” as “unicorn;” exactly the same as they transliterated unicornis as “unicorn.” We must be careful when referring to transliterated words in the text, as in this case two different words were transliterated as the same word.
In this Deuteronomy passage which uses the word rinocerotis, Moses is giving a blessing to each of the 12 sons of Jacob. When he gives a blessing to Joseph, he declares that Joseph’s sons would be like the horns of the rinocerotis. Joseph’s two sons did become as the two horns of a rhinoceros with one big horn and one little horn. Moses prophecies that Manasseh, the elder son, would become the father of thousands, and Ephraim, the younger son, would become the father of tens of thousands. The use of this particular word actually clarifies the passage, because the two-horned rhinoceros has a larger horn and a smaller horn. This prophecy seems backwards, giving the greater blessing to the younger son rather than to the elder son, the first-born. Let’s investigate further.
The King James Bible translators used “unicorns,” (plural with an “s”) in this Deuteronomy passage where a marginal note appears. It reveals that in the Hebrew text, the word is actually a singular word, “unicorn.” However, while the word being translated “unicorn” is singular, the word being translated “horns” is a plural possessive. It’s saying that these plural horns are possessed by the singular unicorn, which would mean that in the Latin, it’s not actually an unicornis, but a rinocerotis. In the English, it’s not actually a unicorn (one animal with one horn), but a rhinoceros (one animal—Joseph, with two horns—two sons.)
Back in Genesis 48:19, Jacob prophesied that Ephraim (the younger) would be greater than Manasseh (the elder, the first-born.) He said that Manasseh “shall be great,” but that Ephraim “shall be greater.” He said that Manasseh “shall become a people,” but that Ephraim “shall become a multitude of nations.” That is exactly what happened, and the prophecy was fulfilled, exactly as the Bible predicted, exactly as the picture the rinocerotis, transliterated as unicorn, visualized.

rinocerotis, transliterated as unicorn, visualized.

With this knowledge of the meaning of the biblical unicorn, each of the nine passages in which we find an animal called a “unicorn” or “unicorns” may be studied with a far greater understanding of the text’s meaning. Each passage hones in on how powerful God, the creator of the universe, truly is.
While the perfect identity of the creatures called “unicorn” and “unicorns” in the English King James Bible may be explored even further, far more important is the reality that the creatures existed. The Bible clearly describes real animals—not fantasy animals as have been popularized by many books and movies—and uses these strong creatures to further demonstrate the power of God.
When we read the word “unicorn” in the Bible with its original meaning and intent, it presents the biblical unicorn as a powerful animal possessing one or two strong horns. Rather than making the Bible seem unworthy of trust due to referencing some mythical, fairy tale creatures, the biblical unicorn authenticates the reality that this miraculous book accurately records prophecies which are meticulously fulfilled in every detail! Thus, the biblical unicorn yet further demonstrates the Bible as the trusted, ultimate source of truth and authority.
