Hungary/Romania 2017

I am on the verge of embarking on a mission trip to Hungary and Romania in January-February 2017.  I had the opportunity to go to the same nations in 2005, and it was the best mission trip I have ever been on.  (That previous trip is summarized on this blog site in the category Hungary/Romania 2005).  I request your prayers.  Romania is still very receptive to the Gospel and recent mission trips were blessed with hundreds of converts.

The beauty of the trip is that I will travel with the same mission organization as before – Partners In Missions International (PIMI).  Their website is http://www.PIMI.org

This trip will feature a crusade/evangelistic atmosphere, and it will consist of about fifteen pastors preaching the Gospel.  We will be preaching crusade evangelism based in Oradea and the surrounding towns.  We will also attend and contribute to a pastor’s conference in Satu Mare.

Bob Ward was the president and founder of this wonderful ministry of nearly twenty years.  He has gone on to be with the Lord.  The president is now Elijah Morar, from Romania, who works very hard in both Romania and in the United States of America.  The Romanians are one of the finest people groups I have ever met, and they are very receptive to the Gospel.  They are kind and respectful to their guests.

I covet your prayers for the following:

1)Logistics- airplane flights and tickets, hotel accommodations, luggage and connections.  I pray not to be rushed.

2)Health- I pray for good health throughout the trip.  The weather is very cold this time of year.  Their latitude is the same as Minnesota.  I just heard prior to departure that there is lots of snow right now!  I pray to be well rested with a minimum of jet lag.

3)For the Great Commission to be accomplished in a powerful way.  For folks to be gloriously saved.  We pray for professions of faith, baptisms and rededications.  We pray for our preaching to be anointed and for souls to be touched for eternity.  We pray for excellent interpreters who accurately convey the original meaning of our words.

4)For love, harmony and unity with our mission team.  For doors to open up through new relationships and new Christian friends.

5)I pray for conditions at church and home to enable the entire trip to go smoothly.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

A complete narrative of this trip will be provided on this blog site at the conclusion of this trip.

In Christ, Pastor Steve

2016 Elections / Interesting Facts About Who Won What And The Electoral College

This article conveys the brilliance of our Founding Fathers when they established the Electoral College –

MORE ACCURATE PERSPECTIVE

Here are the facts:

Trump won the popular vote in 31 states to her

19 and DC.  62% to her 38%.

Trump led in the total popular vote for all states except California.

Hillary won California 8,753,788 to Trump’s 4,483,810.  61.6% to

33.1% exclusive of the other candidates.  Thus California gave Hillary the

popular vote for all states as claimed

by the Democrats and their media stooges.

But deduct her California vote from her national vote leaving her with 54,978,783,

and deduct Trump’s California vote from his national total, leaving him with 57,113.976, he wins in a landslide in the other 49 states, 51.3% to her 48.7%.

So, in effect, Hillary was elected president of California and Trump was elected

president of the rest of the country by a substantial margin.

This exemplifies the wisdom of the Electoral College, to prevent the vote

of any one populace state from overriding the vote of the others.  Trump’s Campaign Manager, Kellyanne Conway, whose expertise is polling, saw this early on and devised

her strategy of “6 pathways to the White House”.

This meant ignoring California with its huge Democrat majority and going after the states that would give him the necessary electoral votes to win, FL, NC, MI, PA, OH, and WI.

At its lowest point since the civil war!  Could this mean the end of the Democrat Party?  When the afternoon of January 20, 2017 arrives, the Republican Party will have:

1)  The Presidency.

2)  A majority of the House of Representatives.

3)  A majority of the Senate.

4)  Almost two-thirds of all the governorships.

5)  Total control of the statehouses in almost two-thirds of all the states.  And in the near future, Republicans will be able to add:

6)  A majority of the Supreme Court.  The above has never happened  before in American history.

Think about that and let it sink in for a moment.  And it’s all because  of one reason:  Barack

Obama’s forcing his extreme far-left agenda on an unwilling country by executive orders, left wing judges, and obsequious bureaucrats.  It’s important to pass this on.  With the demand that we do away with the Electoral College and take the popular vote being pushed by the media, etc, all Americans need to know that the Electoral College is working exactly as our Founding Fathers intended.

Quotable Quotations

Newt Gingrich Former Speaker Of The House On President Donald Trump:

“Donald Trump is a unique person.  There are very few people who could carry the system the way he does.  He campaigned with six or seven speeches a day in different states, and has boundless energy.  You must think of him as one third Andrew Jackson for disruption, one third Theodore Roosevelt for just sheer human energy, and one third P. T. Barnum for selling all the time.  When you put that together, you have a guy that knows where he wants to go, he doesn’t know how he is going to get there, and every day he pushes the system and pushes the system.  By June or July his impact will be very profound on moving the system.  His day starts at 6 AM, and he Twitters nonstop.

Trump is like this flat table top.  One leg is anti left, one leg is anti stupidity, one leg is anti political correctness, and one leg is passionately deep pro American, and he can go anywhere on the table top any minute within those four boundaries, and he is not sure where he is going to go this afternoon at five P. M.

He has got great courage and is willing to take huge responsibility.  He gets things done.  He thinks big.  He is not afraid to think big.”

Russ Breault    ~    The Day The Shroud Foiled Hitler

Russ is from Atlanta, Georgia.

There is a tremendous mystery about this cloth in Turin, Italy.  People have made pilgrimages there, to the Church of St. John the Baptist’s, in order to get a glimpse of the burial cloth that wrapped Jesus when He was in the tomb 2,000 years ago.  It is a fabulous mystery.  It is one single 14 foot linen cloth.  It carries both the front and back images of a man.  It has burns from a 1532 fire, patches sewn on in 1534, scorch marks and water stains.  The dorsal image reveals marks from a possible crown of thorns, scourge marks on the body going in two directions, blood from a side wound, and blood near the feet at the bottom.  Could this be the image of Jesus?  The investigation started over 100 years ago when it was photographed for the very first time.  A Three D picture of Jesus was made, based on the shroud, and it is quite amazing.

STURP Conclusions after three years analyzing the data:

“We can conclude for now that the Shroud image is that of a real human form of a scourged, crucified man.  It is not the product of an artist.  The blood stains are composed of hemoglobin and give a positive test for serum albumin.”  It is blood, not paint, with human DNA.  The image is very superficial on the cloth.

Characteristics of the Image:

  • Superficial- penetrates only top 2 micro-fibers
  • No directionality such as brush strokes
  • No outline to image
  • No cementing of fibers as with paint
  • Uniform intensity
  • No variations in density as with known art works
  • No particles between the threads (dust rubbing)
  • No capillary action (except for blood)
  • No paint binder present
  • Negative image with distance info encoded
  • Blood from actual wounds
  • AB blood type, human DNA
  • No image under the blood

How do you know it is Jesus?  Thousands of people have been crucified.  The head is punctured by thorns.  The body was scourged severely.

Identification of the Body

  • Crown of thorns
  • Severe scourging
  • Nails in the wrists
  • Nails in the feet
  • Legs not broken
  • Wounds in the side
  • Rich man’s shroud

If it is not authentic then what is it?

If it is not Jesus then who is it?

The Day The Shroud Foiled Hitler

Hitler becomes Chancellor in 1933.  The war machine will soon be in top shape.  Germany, Italy and Japan formed the Axis Powers in 1936.  September 1, 1939- World War II begins.  Hitler visited Turin, Italy in 1938.

In 1450 the Shroud became a possession of the House of Savoy.

The Shroud was taken out of Turin after Hitler inquired about it,  and placed in the Monastery at Montevergine.  They kept this secret.  The shroud was moved in September, 1939, for fear that Hitler would steal it as a religious artifact.  Pope Pius XII wanted to take the shroud to the Abby at Monte Cassino in Restored Condition.  They decided against taking it there.  The Germans surrendered in May, 1945.  Mussolini and his mistress attempted to escape to Switzerland.  They were caught, shot by firing squad and hung upside down in the public square.

Hitler was fascinated by religious artifacts such as the Spear of Longinus.  Hitler saw this spear in 1912, and was told that the spear had secret occult powers.  Hitler became mesmerized by the spear.  In March 12, 1938, Hitler rolled into Austria with no resistance, where the spear was kept.  Heinrich Himmler was the most prominent occultist in World War II.  Himmler the Monster was placed in charge of Hitler’s final solution against all Jews.  Hitler and Himmler pursued artifacts of Christ for personal power.  Hitler convinced himself that Jesus was of an Arian bloodline.

Hitler searched for the Holy Grail in order to achieve racial supremacy.  Hitler was the new King Arthur, leading his knights at the round table.  Himmler had a Grail castle.  Hitler also desired the Ark of the Covenant, as well as the shroud, and the Spear of Longinus.  Hitler had the spear and could track down the shroud.  The Nazis never found the shroud at Montevergine.  The praying monks diverted the Nazis from the shroud which was only twenty feet away from them!  The shroud was later returned to Turin on October 29, 1946.  Did Divine intervention protect the shroud?

Obedience

Obedience to the commandments of God, is the pathway to happiness, joy and peace…

Impressions Of The Inauguration Of Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address was seventeen minutes, shorter than most folks thought it would be.  The speech was not meant to please politicians and the movers and shakers on Capitol Hill.  It was a talk, that challenged the Clinton and Bush dynasties as weak and anemic.  It was a speech that pleased his supporters and constituents.  Ironically three former presidents from these administrations, as well as former president Jimmy Carter, were seated next to Trump as he spoke.  His speech sounded similar to his campaigning, as he spoke to the people, as a Populist, caring NOT to appease the parties on either side of the aisle.  His bluntness and lack of a desire to appease the leaders of the political parties, are drawing many comparisons to “Old Hickory,” Andrew Jackson.  Like Jackson, Trump speaks from the heart, and never worries about fallout.  My prayer is that Donald Trump NEVER becomes an appeaser, people pleaser or compromiser.  In regards to Andrew Jackson, John Quincy Adams thought that Jackson’s term would lead to the dissolution of our nation and anarchy.  Sound familiar?  Andrew Jackson turned out to be a great president.  Donald Trump is his own man, and has fooled the political prognosticators and Hollywood “elite,” who laughed at his candidacy a year and one half ago.

*************************************

What Will Be The Outcome Of This Presidency?

Christian Prophecy Teacher Jonathan Cahn calls the new administration a “window.”  I would agree.  It is indeed miraculous that Donald Trump won the election, and the election shows the brilliance of our Founding Fathers when they established the electoral college.  The popular vote would have nominated Hillary Clinton, but her base would have been limited to California, Chicago, New York, and other liberally minded municipalities.  Donald Trump won thirty one states and an electoral landslide.  We are blessed to have a president who advocates the Judaeo Christian ethic, and he will once again, promote the faith that this nation was founded on.  The working man, the rust belt, the south, and evangelicals placed Donald Trump into office.  I agree with Jonathan Cahn, and believe this is a political “Indian Summer,” with winter coming later on.  The next time that ultra liberals take over this nation, I do not believe we may ever get it back.  Globalism and the One World Government will one day raise its ugly head again – the Bible tells us this.  Most   Christians who I know, are grateful for the outcome of the election.  May we pray for this presidency, and for the great principles of our faith in this nation to be espoused.

Suffering / Part 3

Our trials, tribulations and suffering build us up.  Who has not heard of the common story of the overly protected child who later has trouble functioning in school and everyday life?  The devotional below reveals how trees placed in a protective space, collapsed under their own weight.  Why?  Because they were never exposed to the winds of adversity.  They never had a chance to develop strong roots and a solid trunk!  God grows us, and in order to grow us, He allows us to suffer and be tested.  Without a Goliath in his life, the strength of David’s character would have been dormant and not seen by man.  Goliath did not make David a heroic man of faith.  Goliath simply revealed what was already in David.  Trials do NOT make or break us, they reveal what is in us.

Following the devotionals from Our Daily Bread, the topic of suffering will be further expounded upon.  In Christ, Pastor Steve

 Growing in the Wind

Growing in the Wind

Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him! Mark 4:41

Imagine a world without wind. Lakes would be calm. Falling leaves wouldn’t blow in the streets. But in still air, who would expect trees to suddenly fall over? That’s what happened in a three-acre glass dome built in the Arizona desert. Trees growing inside a huge windless bubble called Biosphere 2 grew faster than normal until suddenly collapsing under their own weight. Project researchers eventually came up with an explanation. These trees needed wind stress to grow strong.

Jesus let His disciples experience gale-force winds to strengthen their faith (Mark 4:36–41). During a night crossing of familiar waters, a sudden storm proved too much even for these seasoned fishermen. Wind and waves were swamping their boat while an exhausted Jesus slept in the stern. In a panic they woke Him. Didn’t it bother their Teacher that they were about to die? What was He thinking? Then they began to find out. Jesus told the wind and waves to be quiet—and asked His friends why they still had no faith in Him.

If the wind had not blown, these disciples would never have asked, “Who is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” (Mark 4:41).

Today, life in a protective bubble might sound good. But how strong would our faith be if we couldn’t discover for ourselves His reassuring “be still” when the winds of circumstance howl?

Father in heaven, please help us to remember that anything that frightens us comes with an invitation to find the strength of knowing and trusting You.

God never sleeps.

INSIGHT:In Mark 4:35–5:43 the gospel writer tells of four miracles to prove that Jesus is “the Messiah, the Son of God” and therefore has absolute authority over the forces of this physical world (4:35–41), over the powers of the spiritual world (5:1–20), over physical illnesses (5:24–34), and over death (5:35–43). These miracles were designed to answer the question, “Who is this?” (4:41). The first miracle was Jesus calming the storm on Galilee. Because the Sea of Galilee is in a basin about 700 feet below sea level and is surrounded by mountains, sudden and violent storms are common (v. 37). That Jesus was tired and soundly asleep showed that He was fully human (v. 38); that the storm instantly obeyed Him showed He was divine (v. 39).

Thank you Mart DeHaan, I’ve always been intrigued by this passage, I agree with what you point out that Jesus was fully human and divine.

But when he was awaken by his disciples, and he questions their faith. Now this is before we read that they ask “who is this?”. With all that Jesus had taught them already, should they have had enough faith to have commanded the wind and the sea to calm down?

I know personally, my faith has grown and I have learned through my personal trials and losses, but the bible teaches us to seek understanding like we’re seeking fine jewels, I must tell you, that since I have been seeking to understand what God requires of me, my knowledge and understanding of our relationship has caused my faith to grow more than any trial or loss has ever made it grow.

Although, I do believe that my trials, losses, & understanding of who God is and what He requires of me all work together.

Rocky, I noticed that the Disciples questioned who Jesus is after all the miracles that He has performed with them , around them and before their very eyes. This is the revelation I got when I read this….. God does wondrous things in our Lives. H

    2. Rocky

servant50, I have to respectfully disagree when you say “God is still in control” the bible teaches us that God is in control of the atmosphere, but we are to be of self control.

If God was in control of everything, we would be like robots, we would not even have to worry about combing our hair, because He would be in control.

The bible teaches, the day will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine, but only what their itchy ears want to hear.

If the word of God is so powerful, why aren’t our little one liners actual bible quotes? Instead they are cute little sayings that man has made up. I’m reminded of the one little almost chant that I often hear when I walk into many churches. When the person behind the pulpit says “God is good all the time” and the audience response with “all the time, God is good” yes it’s true, and it sounds good, but it’s not scripture. I believe that if we’re going to chant something it should be scripture and sound something like “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

      Just my personal thoughts.

      1. servant50

Rocky, thank you for your thoughts! And my saying of God is still in control meaning is that he’s in controls of the atmosphere (wind, waves, healing, saving and peace that surpasses all understanding). Therefore, however you word your saying or I wo

ead: Matthew 10:37–42
Bible in a Year: Genesis 36–38; Matthew 10:21–42

Whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.—Matthew 10:39

When I married my English fiancé and moved to the United Kingdom, I thought it would be a five-year adventure in a foreign land. I never dreamed I’d still be living here nearly twenty years later, or that at times I’d feel like I was losing my life as I said goodbye to family and friends, work, and all that was familiar. But in losing my old way of life, I’ve found a better one.

The upside-down gift of finding life when we lose it is what Jesus promised to His apostles. When He sent out the twelve disciples to share His good news, He asked them to love Him more than their mothers or fathers, sons or daughters (Matt. 10:37). His words came in a culture where families were the cornerstone of the society and highly valued. But He promised that if they would lose their life for His sake, they would find it (v. 39).

We don’t have to move abroad to find ourselves in Christ. Through service and commitment—such as the disciples going out to share the good news of the kingdom of God—we find ourselves receiving more than we give through the lavish love the Lord showers on us. Of course He loves us no matter how much we serve, but we find contentment, meaning, and fulfillment when we pour ourselves out for the well-being of others. —Amy Boucher Pye

When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of glory died, my richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride. Isaac Watts

Every loss leaves a space that can be filled with God’s presence.

INSIGHT: When we choose to follow Christ, we won’t necessarily be popular. Our highest calling is not self-promotion or self-preservation. A hero jumps into deep water to save someone who is drowning, but that same person could well lose his or her life (to quote Jesus) in the process of seeking to save someone else. Jesus indicated that even family members (normally our closest natural connection) may be squared off against us. While others may become our obstinate opponents because of Christ, we are obligated to show unselfishness because of Him (Phil. 2:3-5). “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (1:21). It’s a profound paradox. To lose our life for Him means to find it. Has there been a time when the choice to follow Christ has cost you? Jim Townsend

Born on July 5th 2015

Our family

Music is no stranger to this family band that hails from the beautiful Upstate New York countryside, where makin’ music is a way of life. Armed with a banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, bass, the spoons, eight kids, Mom, Dad, and Gramma, The Band Anastazja travels here, there and everywhere to entertain folks with their unique style of music and their genuineness in the real life stories that they tell and the songs to accompany them. Mom, Stacey, says that, “We need to keep the old music alive, because if we don’t, it will be gone and forgotten.” It’s not uncommon for you to hear the band playing songs that Grandma played on the radio with a new sound…songs that paved the way in country music. You’ll hear songs from Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams and the Carter Family as well as some gospel and originals, including the band’s latest, “Hard Times We Never Had” telling of how good they have it today.
This family of eleven will knock your socks off with the children playing well beyond their years. From the oldest just turning eighteen, and the youngest, just a baby…they all have something to give. Lea, 18, says that “Music is my life. Well…God and music. Without those two things, I wouldn’t be who I am today.” Mom will charm you with her openness and real life stories of what it’s like in the trenches of raising a large family with humorous little stories of everyday life. “People often ask my husband and I if we’re “done” yet. We always say “no” because the look of shock and awe on their face is worth a million bucks. The funny thing is, is that they don’t even know what they’re missing. Someday I will write a song about it.”
The Band Anastazja is planning a winter tour down the lower East Coast and throughout Florida again in January and February, sharing their music with the world. “We play anywhere from churches, rv parks, festivals, and theaters and love every moment of it.” (Well…almost every moment.) Having small children brings character and challenge to the mix. “I’m still mom…even when I’m on stage. Every so often, I’ll see the little boys start to fight or Elizabeth will be trying to get away with something and I’ll have to handle it from the stage and bring them up front to sit. It’s hard at times, but it’s worth every ounce of effort. We’ve really been given so much.”

People often ask why we’ve chosen the name “Anastazja” (anna-sta-zha) as our mantra. The name comes from the Greek, meaning “Resurrection” or “Reborn.” We loved this because with so many young children and the fact that every day the Good Lord has given all of us the chance to start again, to start fresh, to leave our mistakes behind…the name just seemed captivating. We chose the Polish spelling because that is part of our heritage and we’re proud of it!

What these folks do not know, is that a giant alligator IS a dinosaur.  Dinosaur means “terrible lizard.”  I would suggest the aforementioned “You Tube” qualifies.  And so does the following, featuring the Komodo Dragons, the largest lizards on earth.  The folks in Indonesia who live near these reptiles, leave their lights on at night because there is no end to what they will try to eat – including the poor soul whose turn it is to take out the trash.

Dinosaurs coexisted with man.  Science, history, paleontology, archaeology, and anthropology all prove this to be true.  The best proof to the born again Christian is found in the book of Job.  Read Job 40:15-24 and all of chapter 41.  In these pages you will find a reference to a giant land dinosaur, a plesiosaur, and a fire breathing dragon.  Every continent and every major ancient culture refers to dinosaurs.  A dragon is featured on the national flag of Wales, one was carved on the ancient Ishtar Gates of Babylon, they are carved on the Ica stones in Peru, and they were observed by Marco Polo during his explorations throughout the Far East.  They are represented in the parades in China when they celebrate the new year.  They are replete throughout history.
