The Comeback of ‘Under God’ ~ The American Renewal Project

‌ ‌ ‌

In 2015, the American Renewal Project hosted pastors and pews events preparing for the first four presidential primaries in 2016: Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. Participants included Mike Huckabee, LA Governor Bobby Jindal, TX Governor Rick Perry, TX Senator Ted Cruz, KY Senator Rand Paul, and FL Senator Marco Rubio.

On May 3, 2016, Donald J. Trump clinched the Republican nomination with his victory in the Indiana primary. The race to become the next president was down to Hillary Rodham Clinton and Donald J. Trump.

Some Evangelical leaders got caught up in the ‘Never Trump’ movement. Russell Moore, the president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), declared in a Washington Post opinion piece of October 9, 2016, that “If Donald Trump has done anything, he has snuffed out the Religious Right.” The article seemed an effort to suppress Evangelical turnout on Election Day.  [Russell Moore is a wolf in sheepskin and he is bad for the SBC.  He promoted “Crooked Hillary” in 2016.  Why would anyone be surprised that he desires to enable LGBTQ?  Note Trump’s accomplishments below.  Moore totally lacked discernment of what Trump would do.  Pastor Steve  <><]

On May 10, 2016, we examined the ‘Never Trump’ movement in an editorial addressed to 100,000 American Renewal Project pastors:

“What and how will Mr. Trump do? I don’t have a clue.

“But with Hillary we do know. The progressives that she will stack on the Supreme Court alone will set back America for a century. Americans may well lose 1) their Second Amendment right to ‘keep and bear Arms’ and 2) their religious liberty (Kim Davis was just the warm-up act). Codifying transgender bathrooms rights will only be the beginning of nine unelected and unaccountable Justices imposing a godless agenda, tearing America apart brick-by-brick.” (read full story here: https://bit.ly/2wFciXj )

Fast-forwarding now to June 2018, a list of President Trump’s victories includes:
• Defending religious liberty.
• Standing up for the unborn.
• Defunding Planned Parenthood.
• Appointing conservative jurists to the Supreme Court and federal appeals courts.
• Reinstating the Mexico City Policy [policy blocking U.S. federal funding for non-governmental organizations that provide abortion counselling or referrals, advocate to decriminalize abortion or expand abortion services].
• Rescinding the Johnson Amendment by Executive Order.
• Commitment to sign the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
• Opening the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. “Today, we finally acknowledge the obvious: that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital,” Trump said. Many promised for nearly three decades, only Donald Trump kept his word.

A good explanation for the Trump phenomenon, aside from the Left’s narrative, would be “God helps those who cannot help themselves.”

Last week we discussed how Cardinal Karol Wojtyla – who later became Pope John Paul II – and Father Frank Blachnicki established a youth ministry in Poland to renew the Polish church. They did this through spiritual mobilization in the fight against communism. Their Oasis movement was created to counter Soviet ‘propagandizement’ of Polish youth by USSR Young Pioneer camps. An estimated ten million children had passed through 40,000 pioneer camps across the USSR during the 1960s and 1970s. (1) This was ‘evangelization’ and indoctrination by a pagan, communistic godless religion. Contrast this to the Oasis alumni, who took vows to live ethical lifestyles of spiritual dissent in the face of a hostile communistic system.

It is evidently high time for an ‘ Oasis movement ’ for America’s youth. We need a movement that will expel pagan Secularism, presently entrenched as gospel, from public education and America’s cultural mountains of influence. This would be a miracle of similar magnitude to Joshua commanding the sun to stand still.

In any case, let’s be clear: neither Wall Street, politicians, government, nor public education is going to save America. “They one and all fail, utterly fail, to meet the deep need of the soul. One and all they are unable to put away sin. And, yet, sad to say, they one and all supplant the Christ of God – He is not wanted; He passes by unnoticed.” (2)

The phrase “passes by unnoticed” leads us to Proverbs 8:10: “Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.” If riches are esteemed and desired over Wisdom, she quietly withdraws, without a commotion. Even a cursory glance at our culture will show that God has withdrawn His hand from secularized, public education. Wisdom’s absence is unmistakable.

As long as pagan Secularism controls America’s cultural mountains of influence – public education, academia, newsrooms, sports, the courts, big business, Hollywood, medicine – we are going downhill as a nation. Each passing day it becomes clearer that Christians have neglected their duty over the last three-quarters of a century. Christians have treated the conflict between the pagan religion of Secularism and the Biblical God Jehovah casually, as just another passing fancy. Yet, on the contrary, this is war.

We Christians must now make the fullest possible use of all means at our disposal to dislodge Secularism from the public square and the culture if America is to survive. This spiritual war calls for persistent vigilance together with action.

Currently, Donald Trump looks to be our best ally. God has raised a Samson “willing to do what God’s people are not.” ( goo.gl/2p6TXE)

Christians must take their civic government skills to the next level. A great tutor for developing such skills is former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Newt’s new book is titled Trump’s America. ( goo.gl/YrH8pM)

In Chapter 3 – The Comeback of ‘Under God’ – it reads: “Essentially, the anti-Trump coalition has twisted freedom of religion into freedom from religion by casting faith as a source of oppression that should be removed from public life. … This is why freedom of religion is an essential pillar of America – and a key to the American comeback.”

Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to stand.

Quotable Quotation ~ Lindsey Graham (Republican) South Carolina Senator

Lindsey Graham Stated On Fox News, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, About President Donald J. Trump And His Summit In North Korea…

“They (North Korea) wouldn’t be talking to Trump unless they believed he was serious about using military force.  President Trump has done more in five hundred days to deal with North Korea than every president in the last thirty years.”

Is America A Christian Nation?

Is America a Christian Nation?
May 26 2018
Written by: Prophecy in the News

Many of our political leaders over the years, not only believed that America was founded on Christian values, but were also devout Christians.
In 1787, twelve of the original 13 States sent delegates to meet together at the Philadelphia Convention, where they drafted the U.S. Constitution (Rhode Island boycotted the Convention.)
The 55 delegates who wrote the U.S. Constitution belonged to the following denominations:
-26 Episcopalian
-11 Presbyterian
-7 Congregationalist
-2 Lutheran
-2 Dutch Reformed
-2 Methodist
-2 Quaker
-2 Roman Catholic
Benjamin Franklin, who called for prayer at the Constitutional Convention on June 28, 1787, stated:
“In the beginning of the contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection.
Our prayers, Sir, were heard and they were graciously answered.
All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending providence in our favor. ..”
Franklin continued:
“I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth — that God Governs in the affairs of men.
And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? …”

New Hampshire Governor John Langdon called for a Day of Fasting, February 21, 1786, to pray for the new government:
“That He would be pleased to bless the great Council of the United States of America and direct their deliberations …that he would rain down righteousness upon the earth, revive religion, and spread abroad the knowledge of the true God, the Savior of man.”
New Hampshire’s annual Fasting Day, a date fixed by the Governor, was observed April 10, 1788:
“to be observed and kept as a day of fasting of humiliation and prayer.”

Our 2nd U.S. President, John Adams once said, “Without religion, this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company — I mean hell.”

Our 6th U.S President, John Quincy Adams, chastised “the liberal class who consider religion as merely a system of morals.” He celebrated the Bible because “when duly read and meditated on, it is of all books in the world, that which contributes most to making men good, wise, and happy.”

Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President, was raised in his parents’ Baptist faith. The toll of the Civil War led Lincoln to undergo a profound spiritual journey; before the war, Lincoln had imagined Providence, the power sustaining and guiding human destiny, as a remote and mechanistic force. When he was president, however, Providence began to emerge in his mind as an active and more personal God, a mysterious presence whose purpose eluded human understanding. Lincoln received the casualty lists and toured military hospitals. In February 1862, his son Willie died of typhoid fever.
In September 1862, one of the darkest moments of the conflict, Lincoln committed his thoughts about God on a small piece of paper that his secretary later titled “Meditation on the Divine Will”:
“The will of God prevails. In great contests, each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be wrong. God cannot be for and against the same thing at the same time. … I am almost ready to say this is probably true — that God wills this contest, and wills that it shall not end yet — By his mere quiet power, on the minds of the now contestants, He could have either saved or destroyed the Union without a human contest — Yet the contest began — And having begun He could give the final victory to either side any day — Yet the contest proceeds.”

The 20th president, James Garfield, was known as the “preacher president.” He converted to Christianity at a camp meeting in 1850. The next day he was baptized in the Disciples of Christ Church. “Today I was buried with Christ in baptism and arose to walk in the newness of life,” he wrote.

The son of a Presbyterian minister, Stephen Grover Cleveland, our 22nd and 24th president, attended Sunday school and multiple services in his father’s church each Sunday. He would remain a member of the Presbyterian Church his entire life.
In a letter accepting his nomination to run for president in 1884, Cleveland promised to rely “upon the favor and support of the Supreme Being Who, I believe, will always bless honest human endeavor in the conscientious discharge of public duty.” He became more visibly religious while in the White House and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., throughout his time as president.

Harry S. Truman, our 33rd president, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grandview, Mo. As president, Truman made frequent references to religion and Christianity in his public speeches. On April 16, 1945, in a statement before a joint session of Congress, Truman asked God for guidance, saying, “I ask only to be a good and faithful servant of my Lord and my people.” Truman repeatedly referred to America as a “Christian nation” and declared that it “was established by men who believed in God. You will see that our Founding Fathers believed that God created this nation. And I believe it, too.”

Our 35th president, John F. Kennedy, wrote to Brazil’s President, Janio da Silva Quadros, on January 31, 1961:
“Once in every 20 years presidential inaugurations in your country and mine occur within days of each other. This year of 1961 is signalized by the happy coincidence… To each of us is entrusted the heavy responsibility of guiding the affairs of a democratic nation founded on Christian ideals.”
On October 28, 1961, Kennedy proclaimed the National Thanksgiving Day these words, “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.”
Let us go forth to lead this land that we love, joining in the prayer of General George Washington in 1783:
‘that God would have you in His holy protection, that He would incline the hearts of the citizens…to entertain a brotherly love and affection one for another…
And finally that He would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with…the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, without an humble imitation of whose example we can never hope to be a happy nation.”

Ronald Reagan, our 40th president, was raised and baptized in the Disciples of Christ Church, Reagan did not shy away from encouraging Christianity as president. Early in his presidency, he wrote a letter saying: “My daily prayer is that God will help me to use this position so as to serve Him. Teddy Roosevelt once called the presidency a bully pulpit. I intend to use it to the best of my ability to serve the Lord.”

Quotable Quotation ~ President Donald Trump On Former Federal Bureau Of Investigation Director James Comey

“How is he going to explain to his grandchildren all of the lies and deceit; all of the problems he has caused for this country.  I think the thing that I’ve done for this country, the firing of James Comey is going to go down as a very good thing.  The F.B.I. is great, I know so many people in the F.B.I.  The F.B.I. is a fantastic institution, but some of the people at the top were rotten apples, and James Comey was one of them.  I have done a great service for this country by getting rid of him and firing him.”

Donald Trump interviewed by Brian Kilmeade of Fox News, on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

As a former employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for twenty years, I could not agree more with our president’s assessment and firing of this former F.B.I. director.  Rank and file F.B.I. employees are both embarrassed and ashamed of Comey’s lies, politicism, favoritism and deceit.  James Comey’s actions of writing books, grandstanding, and his seeking of attention since his firing, goes directly against the protocol of F.B.I. employees.  He truly exhibits prominent traits of narcissism, and his removal is the first step in restoring integrity to this great organization.  Blessings, Pastor Steve  <><

May 14, 2018: A HISTORIC DAY For Israel

May 14, 2018, is a special day in the life of Israel.
And it’s a proud day to be an
American friend of Israel.

May 14, 2018: A HISTORIC DAY

May 14 loomed large in 1948.
It was the date, according to the secular calendar, when the modern state of Israel was born. It was a time of ecstasy. Nearly 19 centuries had passed since the last chance for Jewish sovereignty was destroyed, but the prayers for a return to the ancestral land – and to Jerusalem, the heartbeat of the Jewish people – had never stopped through all the years of wandering, exile, and persecution.
Fast forward 70 years to May 14, 2018.

This day will be remembered, above all, for another celebration…the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to its rightful place in Jerusalem.
I am in Israel’s capital city to join in the festivities and express appreciation, on behalf of the nonpartisan American Jewish Committee (AJC), to the Trump administration for its bold decision.
It shouldn’t have had to be so bold. Every country ought to have the right to choose its own capital. But that basic political rule applies to each nation on earth, save one.
Think about it. The other 192 United Nations member states pick the site for their capital and it’s no one else’s business.
No doubt, diplomats assigned to Australia would prefer to be situated in Melbourne or Sydney, but the political choice was Canberra and that was that.
Nor did anyone utter a peep when Germany, following reunification, moved its capital from Bonn to Berlin, compelling governments around the world to spend a fortune to find new premises in Berlin.
The same goes for Kazakhstan, which decided to move its capital from Almaty to Astana in 1998, again disrupting the lives of every country that had a diplomatic post in the Central Asian nation.
Or take Nigeria, which chose to leave Lagos and create a new capital city, in distant Abudja, in 1991.
But Israel, and Israel alone, has found itself in the unique position of having its self-declared capital in Jerusalem, while other nations insist it’s in Tel Aviv, where they locate their embassies and residences.
Why? Well, we’re told, it’s because the original UN resolution recommending a two-state solution, adopted in November 1947, designated Jerusalem as a corpus separatum, or a city with no sovereign affiliation to the proposed Arab and Jewish states.
But the Arab world rejected the resolution in its entirety and declared war on Israel. Fortunately, Israel, though heavily outgunned and outmanned, prevailed. The western part of Jerusalem came under Israeli control. The offices of the president and prime minister, the Knesset, the Supreme Court, and the Foreign Affairs Ministry were all established there.
For nearly seven decades, we have witnessed the anomaly of world leaders, whose countries reject Jerusalem as the capital, traveling precisely to that city to meet with Israeli presidents and prime ministers, to see Knesset members, and to hold dialogues in the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
How patently absurd! We have also been treated to the assertion that Jerusalem’s status should not be determined until there is a final peace agreement. But that gives the Palestinians veto power over the process, even as they have rejected one proposal after another, including those that would have essentially divided Jerusalem into two parts.
Why should Israel’s capital be spurned by the international community ad infinitum because the Palestinian leadership refuses to make a deal? In the case of the US, the situation was a bit different. The rhetoric was often right, and there was even congressional legislation (Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995) to back it up, but the results never matched the words.
In 2000, for example, George W. Bush said: “Something will happen when I’m president. As soon as I take office, I will begin the process of moving the US embassy to the city Israel has chosen as its capital.”
For eight years, Bush had the chance to do just that. For eight years, however, he balked.
In 2008, Barack Obama declared that “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”
In the ensuing eight years, not only did Obama not move to fulfill his commitment, but he actually took a big step back.
When the White House Office of the Press Secretary released the full text of the president’s eulogy at the 2016 funeral of Shimon Peres, the words “Mount Herzl, Jerusalem, Israel” were included to indicate the location.
Shortly afterward, the White House pointedly deleted the word “Israel” from the text, in effect orphaning Jerusalem. It was no longer located in any country, even as Peres, with Obama present, was being buried in Jerusalem as an Israeli statesman.
In September 2016, Donald Trump pledged to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem.
Some observers understandably thought he was simply parroting his predecessors by making a campaign promise he had no intention of fulfilling.
But he meant what he said, which is why we are all gathering in Jerusalem to mark this historic occasion, to be followed two days later, it should be noted, by the Guatemalan decision to do the same.
In today’s hyper-partisan world, many who oppose the president on other issues are unlikely to give him any credit for this move. But we remain fiercely nonpartisan and call them as we see them.
Trump, as he said, simply recognized reality. Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. Period.
Does this move preclude a peace deal with the Palestinians? Absolutely not. In fact, perhaps in the long haul it accelerates the chances by signaling to their leadership that they don’t necessarily have the continued luxury of avoiding the peace table and rejecting one peace deal after another.
And does it prevent the possibility of a Palestinian state that includes part of Jerusalem within its borders, allowing the Palestinians to declare their own capital? Again, absolutely not.

May 14, 2018, is a special day in the life of Israel. And it’s a proud day to be an American friend of Israel.

American Christian Leaders Praise Jerusalem Embassy Opening

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Remember this moment, this is history. President Trump, by recognizing history, you have made history.”

American Christian Leaders Praise Jerusalem Embassy Opening

American Evangelical Christian leaders praised the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem on Monday and the American leader for keeping his promise to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Christians United for Israel’s founder and chairman Pastor John Hagee, who gave the benediction at the embassy ceremony, told JNS that he is “deeply proud” of his country and its president.

“I was deeply honored to participate in this historic moment. Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel, and I am very proud of my country and my president for recognizing that fact,” said Hagee. “This moment would not have been possible were it not for President Trump’s courage and the unwavering commitment of CUFI’s 4.1 million members.”

The embassy ceremony in Jerusalem was attended by some 800 guests from the United States and Israel.

“Israel is a sovereign nation with the right like any other nation to determine its own capital,” Trump said in a video greeting at the embassy ceremony.”Today we follow through on this recognition and open our embassy in the historic and sacred land of Jerusalem.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “Remember this moment, this is history. President Trump, by recognizing history, you have made history.”

Pastor Mario Bramnick, president of the Latino Coalition for Israel, told JNS that he was “amazed” by the embassy move.

“We are in amazement with today’s movement of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. We are so proud of President Trump’s historic actions today.”

David Parsons, vice president of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, told JNS that “The ICEJ joins with the people and government of Israel in rejoicing over the historic events of this day, as the United States brings its Embassy up to Jerusalem.”

“We are praying and working towards the goal of many more nations taking their rightful place in this city in due recognition of its status as the capital of Israel. Jerusalem has to be shared as a ‘house of prayer’ for all peoples, but the proper sovereign and custodian of the city is the Jewish people.

They were the first and only nation in history to truly honor and select Jerusalem as their capital and the focal point of their national identity, and it is most fitting that they be the ones to see this special city through to its glorious destiny.”

Similarly, Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel and president of Christians in Defense of Israel, noted that the embassy opening was a “historic” day for America and Israel.

“Today is a historic moment when on the 70th anniversary of the re-establishment of Israel, the U.S. embassy opens in Jerusalem,” said Staver. “The timing could not be more appropriate to open the embassy at the 70th anniversary of the founding of the modern state of Israel. We celebrate with the Jewish people for this long-awaited event.”

For many evangelical Christians, the issues of recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocating the U.S. embassy to that city have been top priority for years. Evangelical Christian groups, who have been strong supporters of Trump, strongly lobbied the American leader to keep his campaign promise of moving the embassy during his first year in office.

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, who heads the Jerusalem-based International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, credited the Christian community for playing a “critical” part in ensuring the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

“U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital and the decision to move the U.S. embassy to the Holy City on the Jewish state’s 70th anniversary could not have happened without critical U.S. Christian support,” said Eckstein.

He added that “Israel’s future rests on continuing and strengthening the Christian bond with Israel.”

One such effort includes a new comprehensive building in Jerusalem about a mile from the embassy to accommodate Christian visitors to Israel.

Remembering Barbara Bush…

Sorry folks, I do not have the warm fuzzies when I ponder upon the Bush family, legacy and Christian faith.  The only words I heard about Barbara Bush in the spiritual realm were that “she had a strong belief in the afterlife.”  I have never heard anyone in the extended Bush household refer to THE Author of salvation, Jesus Christ.  Read James 2:19 New King James Version (NKJV):
“You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!”

The eulogy for this First Lady was dotted with words like iconic, public servant, matriarch and patriotic.  Conspicuously absent was any reference to a Christian woman.  In my opinion, the highest praise that can be lauded on any woman is the following:  Proverbs 31:30 English Standard Version (ESV)
“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

Barbara Bush was given the familiar accolades that we have grown accustomed to, after her passing, but the fact of the matter is that “good people never go to heaven.”  Why is this?  Because we are all sinners:  Romans 3:23 King James Version (KJV)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…”  Romans 3:10 New King James Version (NKJV)
“As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one…”

Here is the key to salvation:  Hebrews 9:22 King James Version (KJV)
“And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission (of sins).”

Prescott Bush, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush, are all globalists who seek the New World Order (NWO), and the so called Two State Solution, whereas Israel would forfeit the little land she has.  Christians would never do such a thing because we believe Genesis 12:3-

Genesis 12:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

“I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Amazingly, the crude and sometimes bombastic Donald Trump seems to understand the need to support Israel better than the “refined” Bush family.  Trump’s support of Israel may prolong the longevity of the United States of America!  This gives real meaning to the old adage:  “We will be surprised by who we do see in heaven and by who we do not see in heaven.”  Amen and amen.

If you do some research, you will find that Prescott Bush supported the Nazi Party in Germany, prior to the United States entering World War II, and George H. W. Bush, and George W. Bush were members of the Skull and Bones Society at Yale University.  George H.W. Bush’s nickname was “Magog.”  Enough said…

We Christians should never judge another, as far as where one spends eternity.  But given the lack of evidence of understanding that salvation is “by grace through faith,” and the lack of even the mere mention of the name of Jesus Christ, does not give us a good feeling about where one will spend eternity.  Patriotism and love of country will not enable one to go to heaven.  One must be born from above and place their faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Acts 4:12 King James Version (KJV)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Salvation Comes Solely through the blood of Christ, Do Not Leave Earth Without It!

Donald J. Trump’s Latest Tweet @realDonaldTrump:

Trump On Syria: Missiles Will Be Coming

The liberal press has been lambasting Donald Trump since his inaugural, accusing him of being close friends with Vladimir Putin and Russia.  My, oh my, if that is the case, he has a very strange way of showing it:

April 11, 2018 –

“Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria.  Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!”  You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills people and enjoys it!”

…former President Barack Obama drew a thin red line in Syria.  Nothing more than empty rhetoric.  Current President Donald Trump takes action when needed.

I agree.  Trump loves striving against the Deep State / Shadow Government, and His Tweeting drives them up the wall.  The corrupt establishment cannot handle him because he publically connects well with traditional conservative Americans on a daily basis.  Trump continually exposes the cesspool in Washington, D.C.
