The Washington Post ~ Quotable Quotation

“The traditionalists are in the saddle.  U.S. policy has been normalized.  The world is on notice:  Eight years of sleepwalking is over.  America is back.”

“…the very swiftness of the response carried a message to the wider world.  Obama is gone.  No more elaborate forensic investigations.  No agonized presidential handwringing over the moral dilemmas of a fallen world.  It took Obama 10 months to decide what to do in Afghanistan.  It took Trump 63 hours to make Assad pay for his chemical-weapons duplicity.  America demonstrated its capacity for swift, decisive action.”

“Populist isolationism is not a governing foreign policy for U.S.”

“It is not so much that there is a new sheriff in town.  There IS a sheriff in town.”

Charles Krauthammer  ~  April 13

There Is A New Sheriff In Town

Leading From The Front

Last night, sixty Tomahawk Missiles were delivered to the Syrian Shayrat Air Base used by both Russia and Syria.  This is the air base that only a couple of days ago sent out chemicals that killed infants, children and innocent civilians.  Fifty nine missiles reached their exact targets and one dud fell into the Mediterranean Sea.  This technology is unbelievable, as it took one half hour to launch them all from two destroyers, yet they all hung in the air and struck simultaneously within a couple of minutes.  What a breath of fresh air, after eight years of leading from behind and the thin red line.  What euphoria after eight years of “Our allies no longer trust us and our enemies no longer fear us.”  What a unique set of circumstances when the extremely liberal Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry agree with Donald Trump that this was the right thing to do!  Praise the Lord for a president who does not vacillate or equivocate – and steps up and does the right thing!  While the missiles were striking the air base, Donald Trump was dining with the president from China.  It sounds like a Hollywood staged set.  This missile strike was a clear signal to China, North Korea and to ISIS if they were listening.  Donald Trump told the Chinese that if they do not stand up to North Korea that he will.  Make no mistake, the only thing that Vladimir Putin and Russia, the Chinese, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, and ISIS respect is strength.  Praise God for a president who acts decisively and does the right thing.  What a wonderful relief after eight years of the worst feckless foreign policy imaginable.  Blessings, Pastor Steve

Indian Summer / A Very Temporary Respite From The March Towards The New World Order

“Christians with discernment feel the political winds shifting towards the New World Order (NWO).  Politics, culture, the economy and the world’s religions are all converging for unity, and the Bible tells us that this will happen towards the end of the church age.  In the mean time, we seem to have a miraculous respite from this.  As a baby boomer, I am ever so thankful.  Two monkey wrenches that have hindered the advance of the NWO agenda are 1)Brexit and 2)Donald Trump.  Brexit, of course, was the national vote whereby England opted out of the European Union.  That was a kick in the teeth to global unification.  I perceive that Donald Trump will give us an Indian Summer prior to the introduction of the Antichrist and his global domination.  Judging from the atmosphere of all things in our fallen world, and everything falling into place as we come closer to end time events, I do not expect this Indian Summer to last very long.  I honestly hope I am wrong.  I perceive Donald Trump to represent the proverbial Dutch Boy who placed  his finger in the hole in the dike so that it would hold a little longer before the explosion, carrying the flood waters downstream.  This current era in our nation is analogous to King Josiah’s revival late in the history of Judah, lasting only until his death.  After King Josiah died, the revival was over because it was not in the hearts of the people, and the Israelites were quickly taken into captivity in Babylon.  Pray for our sin sick nation, our president, and all of our national political leaders.  Having just returned from Europe, I have come to realize that the liberal European nations, a well as the leftists in America, Republicans, Democrats and 99% of the media all despise our president.”

Hungary/Romania 2017 Mission Trip ~ Part 2

Budapest   –   Day 2

Our mission team noted that the sun came out only one time during the entire trip, and that was for an hour or two prior to sunset one evening.  Some of the sights we saw as we braved the frigid temperatures in Budapest were the Danube River, St. Stephens Basilica, St. Matthias Church, the Hungarian Parliament Building, the State Opera House, Hero’s Square, the Slzechenyil Spa, the outdoor winter ice skating rink (largest in all of Europe), the Vajdahunyad Castle and the Great Synagogue.

I learned that Hungary was once five times its’ present size, when it was part of the famous Hapsburg Dynasty along with Austria.  A gentleman who later translated for me (Chip), explained that Saxons were hired to ward off the Islamic invasion from the east (Istanbul), and they settled east of Romania.  After living there for some time, they eventually formed a powerful nation.

The city displayed Jewish artifacts that spotlighted the World War II holocaust.  There were old suitcases making a monument of sorts, rocks that represented those who died, and innumerable personal effects that were shown at scenes, in order to remember their tragic years in Europe in the 1930’s and 1940’s.  The history of Budapest goes back to ancient times.  There are buildings, archeology, and history commemorating the following:  The Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, The Hapsburg Dynasty With Austria, The Ottoman Turk Invasion (The Turks allowed Christianity), The Mongol Invasion, Genghis Khan, The Nazi Occupation, The Jewish Holocaust, The Soviet Communist Occupation, And The Insurrection / Rebellion Of 1956.  There Is A Statue Of Ronald Reagan The Liberator.  There are many Catholic Churches in Budapest, and the local kings were esteemed and magnified in the Catholic Churches in Hungary.  The history is voluminous, profoundly interesting, overwhelming and very detailed.

Later on, the British evening news and CNN called Donald Trump the greatest threat facing Europe.  They speak incessantly about Trump.  I have not heard English Prime Minister Theresa May even mentioned.  These liberal European news stations spoke a lot about Brexit as well.

Hungary/Romania 2017 Mission Trip ~ Part 1

There were nine people on our mission team, and all were native Texans except for myself.  Seven of us preached the Gospel all week.  The Romanians are not a people who respond to altar calls.  Their emotion and response is demonstrated by saying “amen,” pronounced “ameen.”  When under conviction, they will raise their hands and their pastor will follow up after the service.  The Romanians are easy to preach to however, and they love revivals and the Word of God the way we enjoy Christian music concerts.  Oh that the fires of revival would once again touch our sin sick nation!

The Lord prepared me for the coldness gradually.  We had a “cold snap” in south Florida whereby the temperature hung in the 50 degree range prior to our departure.  Our connecting flight was in London, England, and the temperature was about 46 degrees.  When we exited the airplane in Budapest, Hungary, the weather was in the teens.  The beginning of our mission trip featured sight seeing in Budapest, which is a great way to unwind after our long journey to Eastern Europe.  I was part of another mission team to Romania in 2005, and touring Budapest was scheduled at the end of our trip.  I was taken ill and never able to see the city, hence I was very glad to have this opportunity now.

Budapest yokes together two formerly separate cities: Buda and Pest, on opposite sides of the Danube River.  Buda, on the West side of the river is hilly and semi-suburban, and has winding, narrow streets wending their way up into the hills.  Pest, on the East side of the river is typical flat Hungarian real estate.  We will tour the city tomorrow, and observe the Stephen Church Basilica, the Parliament Building, the Court Building and much more.  We will learn of the Nazi occupation, the Soviet occupation, and their freedom which came under the presidency of Ronald Reagan.

You can stay at an ornate hotel for about one hundred dollars a night in Budapest.  I took advantage of a huge bathtub that had a rail to hold reading material, and piped in television for the evening news.  The people we met were all very gracious and more than hospitable.  If my wife and I decide on a trip to Europe, a stopover in England for a few days and Budapest, Hungary would work for me.  It is a beautiful and historic city.

On my first evening in Budapest, I ordered Hungarian Goolash.  Original, eh?  It was very good, and it is basically the same as our beef stew, except pepper is used in place of tomato.

Donald Trump’s immigration ban is the talk of Europe.  Europe is very liberal and reminds me of the evening news back home.  CNN in Europe is mesmerized by Donald Trump, and BBC covers Donald Trump much more than Britain’s own Prime Minister, Theresa May.  It struck me on this trip that the British accent is found everywhere.  I experienced it in England of course, and even one of my translators (Chip) in Romania had one.  My wife and I were on a cruise to the Western Caribbean four months ago and it seemed like every other person had one!  For a relatively small island nation, The British have sure had a global impact.

At the end of the day (literally), it struck me that I would much rather go on a mission trip where it is fifteen degrees, than go to Tahiti.  This is very true with me.  I would much rather go on a series of mission trips than have an outdoor swimming pool, and am grateful for the choices the good Lord has given us, and the responses He has led my wife and me to make.

2016 Elections / Interesting Facts About Who Won What And The Electoral College

This article conveys the brilliance of our Founding Fathers when they established the Electoral College –

MORE ACCURATE PERSPECTIVE

Here are the facts:

Trump won the popular vote in 31 states to her

19 and DC.  62% to her 38%.

Trump led in the total popular vote for all states except California.

Hillary won California 8,753,788 to Trump’s 4,483,810.  61.6% to

33.1% exclusive of the other candidates.  Thus California gave Hillary the

popular vote for all states as claimed

by the Democrats and their media stooges.

But deduct her California vote from her national vote leaving her with 54,978,783,

and deduct Trump’s California vote from his national total, leaving him with 57,113.976, he wins in a landslide in the other 49 states, 51.3% to her 48.7%.

So, in effect, Hillary was elected president of California and Trump was elected

president of the rest of the country by a substantial margin.

This exemplifies the wisdom of the Electoral College, to prevent the vote

of any one populace state from overriding the vote of the others.  Trump’s Campaign Manager, Kellyanne Conway, whose expertise is polling, saw this early on and devised

her strategy of “6 pathways to the White House”.

This meant ignoring California with its huge Democrat majority and going after the states that would give him the necessary electoral votes to win, FL, NC, MI, PA, OH, and WI.

At its lowest point since the civil war!  Could this mean the end of the Democrat Party?  When the afternoon of January 20, 2017 arrives, the Republican Party will have:

1)  The Presidency.

2)  A majority of the House of Representatives.

3)  A majority of the Senate.

4)  Almost two-thirds of all the governorships.

5)  Total control of the statehouses in almost two-thirds of all the states.  And in the near future, Republicans will be able to add:

6)  A majority of the Supreme Court.  The above has never happened  before in American history.

Think about that and let it sink in for a moment.  And it’s all because  of one reason:  Barack

Obama’s forcing his extreme far-left agenda on an unwilling country by executive orders, left wing judges, and obsequious bureaucrats.  It’s important to pass this on.  With the demand that we do away with the Electoral College and take the popular vote being pushed by the media, etc, all Americans need to know that the Electoral College is working exactly as our Founding Fathers intended.

Quotable Quotations

Newt Gingrich Former Speaker Of The House On President Donald Trump:

“Donald Trump is a unique person.  There are very few people who could carry the system the way he does.  He campaigned with six or seven speeches a day in different states, and has boundless energy.  You must think of him as one third Andrew Jackson for disruption, one third Theodore Roosevelt for just sheer human energy, and one third P. T. Barnum for selling all the time.  When you put that together, you have a guy that knows where he wants to go, he doesn’t know how he is going to get there, and every day he pushes the system and pushes the system.  By June or July his impact will be very profound on moving the system.  His day starts at 6 AM, and he Twitters nonstop.

Trump is like this flat table top.  One leg is anti left, one leg is anti stupidity, one leg is anti political correctness, and one leg is passionately deep pro American, and he can go anywhere on the table top any minute within those four boundaries, and he is not sure where he is going to go this afternoon at five P. M.

He has got great courage and is willing to take huge responsibility.  He gets things done.  He thinks big.  He is not afraid to think big.”

Impressions Of The Inauguration Of Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address was seventeen minutes, shorter than most folks thought it would be.  The speech was not meant to please politicians and the movers and shakers on Capitol Hill.  It was a talk, that challenged the Clinton and Bush dynasties as weak and anemic.  It was a speech that pleased his supporters and constituents.  Ironically three former presidents from these administrations, as well as former president Jimmy Carter, were seated next to Trump as he spoke.  His speech sounded similar to his campaigning, as he spoke to the people, as a Populist, caring NOT to appease the parties on either side of the aisle.  His bluntness and lack of a desire to appease the leaders of the political parties, are drawing many comparisons to “Old Hickory,” Andrew Jackson.  Like Jackson, Trump speaks from the heart, and never worries about fallout.  My prayer is that Donald Trump NEVER becomes an appeaser, people pleaser or compromiser.  In regards to Andrew Jackson, John Quincy Adams thought that Jackson’s term would lead to the dissolution of our nation and anarchy.  Sound familiar?  Andrew Jackson turned out to be a great president.  Donald Trump is his own man, and has fooled the political prognosticators and Hollywood “elite,” who laughed at his candidacy a year and one half ago.

What Will Be The Outcome Of This Presidency?

Christian Prophecy Teacher Jonathan Cahn calls the new administration a “window.”  I would agree.  It is indeed miraculous that Donald Trump won the election, and the election shows the brilliance of our Founding Fathers when they established the electoral college.  The popular vote would have nominated Hillary Clinton, but her base would have been limited to California, Chicago, New York, and other liberally minded municipalities.  Donald Trump won thirty one states and an electoral landslide.  We are blessed to have a president who advocates the Judaeo Christian ethic, and he will once again, promote the faith that this nation was founded on.  The working man, the rust belt, the south, and evangelicals placed Donald Trump into office.  I agree with Jonathan Cahn, and believe this is a political “Indian Summer,” with winter coming later on.  The next time that ultra liberals take over this nation, I do not believe we may ever get it back.  Globalism and the One World Government will one day raise its ugly head again – the Bible tells us this.  Most   Christians who I know, are grateful for the outcome of the election.  May we pray for this presidency, and for the great principles of our faith in this nation to be espoused.

In Christ, Pastor Steve
