The Global Police State Is Swiftly Rising
Just as in the early part of the 20th century, we have a socialist/communist uprising as well as global pandemic that the public is growing increasingly frustrated with no matter the response. How the government treats each problem will determine our long term future.
There is always an excuse for the enforcement of totalitarian restrictions on the public. There is always a reason.  And, often these reasons are engineered to sound logical and practical at the time.
In Germany after WWI and into the early 1930s Bolshevik activists and the German Communist Party (KPD) engaged in aggressive economic sabotage, street violence and even assassinations. This along with the Great Depression led to German middle class support for the National Socialist Party and the Third Reich (fascism).
Much of history’s focus is on the horrors of the Nazis, but many people are unaware of the extreme threat of communist revolution in Europe during this era, a threat which was used by the Nazis as a perfect rationale for constructing a police state. Arguably, without the existence of hardline communism, the fascists never would have had the public support needed to rise to power.

In Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution, the Cheka secret police were established in the name of preventing “counter-revolution”. This is an interesting aspect common to communism in particular; they desperately cling to the narrative that THEY are the “revolutionaries”, even when they have all the power.

Thus, the revolution never ends because there are always people who disagree with communism. Anyone who refuses to comply with Marxist mandates becomes an imperialist enemy and bogeyman, and is held up as an example of why the revolution must perpetually continue. The police state must exist forever to root out the evil classists lurking in the shadows.
During the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak, a virus with a much higher death rate among younger Americans compared to today’s coronavirus, major US cities such as New Orleans instituted martial law measures and lockdowns on the economy; closing schools, churches, public transportation, and places of leisure.
Of course these measures did little to nothing to stop the spread of the virus and the public became frustrated with their inability to function in the day-to-day economy (sound familiar). The population began to rebel against restrictions that were leading to financial decay, and there was little governments could do about it.
I’ve noticed that the mainstream media has attempted in the past six months to rewrite the history of the Spanish Flu as if martial law measures were a success, even though ultimately the flu ran its natural course in the majority of US cities. Infections and deaths continued unabated until the virus burned itself out and disappeared (no working vaccine was ever produced though there were many failed attempts based on the assumption that the disease was bacterial). Martial law actions only served to drag out the timeline of the virus.
One could argue that a hundred years ago governments did not have the same tools at their disposal as they do now. But are we really that much further ahead? Virologists have been working on an effective SARS vaccine for almost two decades with little success; the idea that they could come up with a working vaccine for Covid in the span of a year (as many governments are suggesting) seems absurd. History shows us that when vaccines are rushed into production by authorities, very bad things happen.
Regardless of lockdown measures, infection rates continue to climb in many nations, thereby justifying even longer or more frequent lockdowns. This creates an endless cycle of economic instability which the public cannot endure, and many people are beginning to wonder what purpose of the pandemic restrictions serve?
It’s obviously not to slow the virus and save lives as an effective vaccine is unlikely to be developed in time for the lockdowns to matter. But, if you wanted to quickly implement a totalitarian system, then using a global health threat as justification might be the ticket.
The problem for the establishment will be this: How can they keep the tyranny going once they have it? Ultimately, for a totalitarian system to work it needs a large portion of the public to support it on principle. The public has to believe that the loss of their liberties is necessary to their survival for the long term.
What I find most interesting is the disparity in response to the two sides of the crisis today. Just as in the early part of the 20th century, we have a communist uprising as well as global pandemic that the public is growing increasingly suspicious of. How the government treats each problem is obviously different.
For example, the law enforcement response to the BLM and ANTIFA riots has been rather subdued and passive. I was in Pittsburgh for the G20 event in 2009 and I can tell you from experience that the police response was vicious and highly coordinated, and this was against groups that were doing nothing more that chanting slogans in the street without a permit from the city (the city government only gave out one protest permit while the G20 were present in Pittsburgh).
There was no rioting and minimal damage to private property, yet law enforcement deployed full force measures including Spartan formations, sound cannons, rubber bullets and armored vehicles. Watch video footage of the G20 in Pittsburgh and then compare it to the riots in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, New York, etc. It should become clear to you that for some reason police are being ordered to hold back the majority of the time.
Another glaring issue is the media response to the riots. They refer to the protests as exclusively peaceful despite mass looting, destruction of private property and violence. They treat BLM as sacrosanct and untouchable and act as an attack dog against anyone criticizing the actions of the organization. The issue of social distancing and virus spread is dismissed or ignored when it comes to BLM.
By extension, examine the mainstream media response to the protests against coronavirus lockdown restrictions. No riots, no looting, no violence on the part of conservative and moderate protesters, yet the media demonizes them as if they are a threat to the very fabric of our society.
Look at how quick authorities have been to arrest people who refuse to follow lockdown restrictions, and take into account how aggressive arrests have been in other countries like Australia, Spain or the UK for doing nothing more than posting messages on Facebook or not wearing a mask on the street.
I think my point here is clear: The establishment supports social justice violence and unrest, and is cracking down hard on any resistance to medical tyranny. The hypocrisy is evident.
But this brings up some questions; such as why they are so keen to allow the BLM riots to continue? As noted at the beginning of this article, I think the strategy is evident – It’s a two pronged attempt, a bait and switch: If the Marxists are successful and meet little resistance from the public then they will tear down the current system, and the elitists institutions that fund them like George Soros’s Open Society Foundation and the Ford Foundation will use the opportunity to build an Orwellian collectivist society from the ashes.
On the other hand, as in Germany in the 1930s, the civil unrest caused by hard left groups could also convince the general public that martial law measures are an acceptable solution and make them willing to sacrifice constitutional protections in order to rid themselves of the threat.
There have been examples of this recently when federal agents initiated black bagging of protester in Portland using unmarked vans; all I saw from most conservatives was cheering. This would undoubtedly lead to a long term totalitarian structure that, once again, benefits the elites that inhabit every aspect of government.
In both cases, the power elites get what they want – a police state.
In terms of the pandemic response, a police state is already being established in many nations, and with most Western people’s predominantly disarmed there is little chance they will be able to resist the crackdown that will ensue as they try to protest the restrictions. But what about in America?
This is why it does not surprise me that the BLM riots are being encouraged so openly in the US. Look at it this way: If the elites cannot get us to go along with medical tyranny for fear of sparking an armed uprising from conservatives with actual training and ability, then they figure maybe they can trick us into supporting martial law in the name of defeating the political left.
The only solution is to refuse to support either option. We must repel the establishment of medical tyranny and stand against any overstep of state and federal governments against the Constitution when it comes to protests. Riots and looting can be dealt with, and dealt with within the confines of the Bill of Rights.
Also, once again I would point out that in almost every place where armed citizens organize and take up security measures in their communities the protests remain peaceful, or they don’t happen at all.
There is no legitimate excuse for a police state. There is always another way. Anyone who tells you different has an agenda of their own.

Gloom, Doom and Manipulative Mayors Part 2

A Texas firestorm erupted last week when Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner canceled the 2020 Texas State Republican Convention, scheduled for July 16-18 in Houston. The cancellation wipes out the plans of 6,000 preregistered TX delegates, and will cost many their nonrefundable airline tickets and hotel accommodations.
Even worse off than the delegates will be the hotel courtesy shuttle drivers, valet/parking attendants, bell staff/porters, door staff, concierge, technicians, maître d’hôtel, housekeeping, cooks, delivery service, room service, bartenders, and servers.
In calling the convention a “public health risk,” Houston Mayor Turner (D) turned out to be yet another leader fitting seamlessly in Senator Rand Paul’s category of “fatal conceit” or in Nobel Prize-winning economist Friedrich Hayek’s domain of the “pretense of exact knowledge.”
“It is a fatal conceit to believe any one person or small group of people has the knowledge necessary to direct an economy or dictate public health behavior. We shouldn’t presume that a group of experts somehow knows what’s best for everyone … It’s important to realize that if society meekly submits to an expert and that expert is wrong, a great deal of harm may occur when we allow one man’s policy or one group of small men and women to be foisted on an entire nation.”1
When asked for his response to the lawsuit filed against him, Mayor Turner replied, “[The Republican Party of Texas] signed the contract in March with a force majeure clause that included epidemics in Houston. That clause allows either party to cancel the agreement if an occurrence is beyond the reasonable control of the party whose performance is affected.”
“It’s ironic,” crowed the mayor, “that they’re going to the courthouse [for reprieve] … to ask them to agree to allow 6,000 people to meet in person when even the judicial community is hearing cases virtually.”
Mayor Turner’s purported concern for public health drips with dishonesty, duplicity, deceit, and deception given his addressing a crowd of some 60,000 George Floyd protestors just one month ago.2 Social distancing was neither maintained nor required. Social closeness and political nearness were widely practiced instead.
In matters like this it must be reiterated that what is happening in America has little or nothing to do with Republican vs Democrat. America’s war is spiritual, as two distinct religions are vying for control of the public square: transient and mutable secularism versus eternal and immutable Christianity. These two distinct religions cannot coexist, as one will ultimately go down as a consequence of the elevation of the other.
On the face of it, what is happening locally in Houston appears to be not related to what is happening on a large scale nationwide. Yet, on reconsideration, Mayor Turner’s acting in bad faith stands as clear proof of the level of spiritual warfare unto which Christians in America are called.
It is absolutely shocking to see how secular, liberal mayors and governors across America find common ground and join forces with subversive and seditious activists bolstered by Marxist outfits like Antifa and Black Lives Matter, even as they shut down church services, and now seek to stifle the constitutional right to assemble peaceably.
The fact that Democrat Party leaders are reveling in the nationwide looting, anarchy, and burning of America’s cities seems to indicate that something much bigger is going on in the nation than Covid-19 and race relations.
Take for instance Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego (D) alarmist and false claim that Maricopa County’s public health agency had ordered refrigerator trucks to store overflow COVID bodies. The reasons for Mayor Gallego’s mendacity are easy to find: “Democrats in the state believe they need to discredit Gov Doug Ducey’s Covid-19 response if they want to succeed in flipping John McCain’s old Senate seat, currently occupied by Republican Senator Martha McSally, on Nov. 3.”3
In light of the inaccurate, ambiguous and neglectful information that the mainstream media provide on the social and civil unrest in the nation, one wonders where America’s free and independent press is, once lauded as the cornerstone of a functioning, healthy republic.
Why do they keep silent about who is funding and organizing widespread, systematic violations of law in America?
In line with the misleading and contradictory messages from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], a federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services headquartered in Atlanta, and the United Nations World Health Organization [WHO], columnist Bethany Blankley reports on the Texas facts. Here are three examples:
“According to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services coronavirus database, as of July 9 data reported out of a population of roughly 29 million [Texans], there have been 2.6 million tests for the coronavirus. Among them, 230,346 positive cases have been reported, or 0.79 percent of the population. Roughly 8.85 percent of those who have been tested have tested positive for the virus. Only those who are presenting symptoms are tested, so the number is not representative of the entire population.
“In Dallas County [Dallas], the number of total coronavirus cases is 29,160, since the state and county began tracking the data. Of them, there have been 16,192 recoveries and 426 deaths. As of July 8, there are 11,529 active cases. Of the county’s 2.6 million people, the coronavirus case number/infection rate is 1.1 percent. The death rate as a share of the population is 0.016.
“In Harris County [Houston], the reported number of total coronavirus cases is 40,012. Of them there have been 12,856 recoveries and 411 deaths. As of July 8, there are 26,048 active cases. Of the county’s 4 million people, the case number/infection rate is 1.0 percent. The death rate as a share of the population is 0.01 percent.
“In Bexar County [San Antonio], the reported number of total coronavirus cases is 16,725. Of them, there have been 6,191 recoveries and 146 coronavirus-related deaths. As of July 8, there are 9,552 active cases. Of the county’s 2 million people, the case number/infection rate is 0.83 percent. The death rate as a share of the population is 0.007 percent.”4
All this must lead to the unescapable conclusion that liberal Democrat mayors and governors across America are using the coronavirus as a political weapon.
Although Arthur W. Pink died in 1952, he prophetically hits the nail on the head for Evangelical and Pro-Life Catholic Christians regarding the current state of America’s culture: “God grants His people no furloughs in the ‘good fight of faith’ (1 Timothy 6:12) to which He has called them, and should they take one, then their enemies will inevitably prove too strong, nor will the Captain of their salvation fight their battles for them.”
“The soul of the sluggard desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.” [Proverbs 13:4]
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” [1 Corinthians 16:13]
“If we heed not, most unpleasant will be the outcome.” [Arthur W. Pink]

Patrick Henry: The Heart, Soul, And Vocal Firebrand Of The American Revolution And Spirit Of Independence

My greatest wonder about the anarchy in our land today, is where is the Patriotic opposition?  Why are the thugs of Antifa not met with Patriots?  Pray for a mere handful or even one with the spirit of Patrick Henry to ignite the Spirit of America which rests in the silent majority!  It is here folks, yet it is dormant and we just need a catalyst to wake us up from our spiritual lethargy,  so pray for one.  Have a blessed Independence Day.  In Christ, Pastor Steve <><

Henry’s Early Life and Times (and other life events)

Full Biography

Patrick Henry—Founding Father, patriot, orator, governor. Also husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Who was the man who walked the rolling lawns of Red Hill? He is best remembered for his speech given at St. John’s Church in 1775, in which he cried “ give me liberty or give me death!” to the charged crowd, urging them to Revolution. But he is also the man who fought for and won the Bill of Rights, which preserved individual liberties in the fledgling nation, and still does today. He was a five-term governor of Virginia, as well as its first.

He was also a devoted family man, fathering 17 children in the course of two marriages. He was remembered by his friends and political opponents alike for his sharp wit and strong integrity. He turned down appointments as a U.S. Senator, Secretary of State, Ambassador to Spain and France, and even as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, much to George Washington’s disappointment.

His was a rich life, and Henry himself a rich character. Read more below about why we at Red Hill are so committed to the legacy of this great patriot.

Early Life and Times

Patrick Henry was born at Studley in Hanover County, Virginia, on May 29, l736. His father John Henry was a Scottish-born planter. His mother Sarah Winston Syme was a young widow from a prominent gentry family. Henry attended a local school for a few years and received the remainder of his formal education from his father, who had attended King’s College in Aberdeen.

At fifteen Henry began working as a clerk for a local merchant. A year later, in 1752, he and his older brother William opened their own store, which promptly failed.

At age eighteen, not yet having found his profession, Henry married sixteen-year-old Sarah Shelton, whose dowry was a 600-acre farm called Pine Slash, a house, and six slaves. Henry’s first attempt as a planter ended when fire destroyed his house in 1757. After a second attempt at storekeeping proved unsuccessful, Henry helped his father-in-law at Hanover Tavern, across the road from the county courthouse, and began reading law.

By 1760, nearing his twenty-fourth birthday, Henry decided to become a lawyer. Self-taught and barely prepared, Henry persuaded the panel of distinguished Virginia attorneys Wythe and Randolph that he had the intelligence to warrant admission to the bar. With his energy and talents, and some encouragement from his influential family, Patrick Henry established a thriving practice in the courts of Hanover and adjacent counties.

The Voice of the Revolution

Patrick Henry’s political career began in December 1763 with his rousing victory in the Parsons’ Cause, a controversy rooted in the peculiarities of colonial Virginia’s tobacco-based economy that also became an important precursor of the American Revolution. Clergymen of the established Anglican church and other public officials in colonial Virginia received their annual salaries in tobacco – 16,000 pounds per a year for a clergyman. For decades the market price of tobacco had been about 2 cents a pound, but severe droughts in 1759 and 1760 drove the price of tobacco much higher. In response to this crisis, the colonial legislature passed a Two-Penny Act, which declared that contracts payable in tobacco should be valued according to the normal price rather than the higher “windfall” caused by the recent drought. Many of Virginia ‘s Anglican clergy, who already felt that their vestries paid them too little, protested the law. Eventually, the parsons appealed to colonial authorities in England, who overruled the Virginia statute and declared it void. This action aroused a controversy over the nature of British authority within the colony.

The Parsons’ Cause came home to Hanover County when the Reverend James Maury brought suit against the vestry for his back pay, and won. At that point the novice attorney Patrick Henry was asked to argue the vestry’s side when the jury convened to determine how much Maury should be paid. In a fervent oration that criticized the established clergy and challenged British authority, Henry persuaded the jurors of Hanover County to grant token damages of only one penny. Henry’s victory in the Parsons’ Cause enhanced his legal practice and launched a political career marked by similar moment of dramatic oratory.

Winning a seat in the House of Burgesses from Louisa County in 1765, Henry began his career in the lower house of the Virginia’s colonial legislature shortly after news had reached the colony of Parliament’s passage of the Stamp Act. Henry and entrenched leadership of the House of Burgesses agreed on the constitutional grounds for opposing the Stamp Act, but Henry was more outspoken and direct in his opposition to the Parliamentary taxation. By narrow margins on May 29-30, 1765, the burgesses endorsed Henry’s Stamp Act Resolves, which attacked Parliament’s claim of authority to tax the colonies and seemed to advocate resistance if the imperial government persisted in its course.

Henry’s Stamp Act Resolves, which were published throughout the colonies and Great Britain, established Henry’s place among the leaders of the American Revolution. Their passage was the occasion for one of his most famous orations, the “Caesar-Brutus” speech in which he suggested that the British monarch risked a fate like Julius Caesar’s assassination by Brutus, or Charles I’s displacement by Cromwell, if he permitted his government to disregard American liberty. Despite cries of treason from more cautious burgesses, his spirited remarks achieved their effect. With attendance at the session thinned by the early departure of many members, Henry introduced and carried five of an intended seven resolutions, finding it necessary to hold back two of the stronger ones that faced defeat. When one was later rescinded, but the newspapers printed versions of six or all seven resolutions, quickly establishing Henry’s reputation as an uncompromising opponent of imperial policy.

As tensions between the colonists and the British government persisted during the next few years, Henry remained a member of the Burgesses, occasionally challenging the older leaders but always joining them in opposition to British policies. His public career was balanced by the needs of a growing family and his law practice. After scarcely a decade’s labor in the county courts, Henry in 1769 was admitted to practice before the General Court, the highest judicial body in the colony.

As the imperial crisis mounted after the Boston massacre of 1770, Henry in 1773 joined with other Virginians in the establishment of intercolonial committees of correspondence. Both the Boston Tea Party in December and Parliament’s subsequent enactment of the Coercive Acts and its closing of the port of Boston in 1774, drew the colonies closer together in their resistance.

Henry attended the first session of the Continental Congress in Philadelphia in September 1774 as one of Virginia’s seven delegates and initially received several important committee assignments. Early in the session he demonstrated his powers as a speaker when he asserted that the old governments and colonial boundaries were swept away. “The distinctions between Virginians, Pennsylvanians, New Yorkers, and New Englanders, are no more,” he declared. “I am not a Virginian, but an American.” Henry took his seat in the Second Continental Congress in May 1775 but did not play a major part in its cautious deliberations. When Congress adjourned on August 1, Henry set out for home and never again to hold a continental or national office.

Henry and Independence

For the few months between the First and Second sessions of the Continental Congress, Henry returned to Virginia and organized a volunteer militia company for Hanover County while also coping with the tragedy of Sarah Henry’s puerperal psychosis, a severe mental illness that sometimes followed childbirth. When Sarah Henry died sometime in early 1775, Henry resumed an active leadership role in the Revolution, particularly at the second Virginia Convention at Richmond in March 1775. The Virginia delegates were divided between those who wanted only a peaceful solution to the imperial dispute and those who also were ready to prepare for military resistance. Henry led the call for preparedness and introduced a resolution to that effect. He supported its passage with the legendary speech that closed with “Give me liberty or give me death!” Henry carried the day by no more than a half dozen votes.

Virginia ‘s royal governor, the earl of Dunmore , responded promptly to the threat of armed resistance. On April 20, l775 he dispatched a small force of British marines to seize powder and guns stored in the Public Magazine in Williamsburg . The raiders were discovered, but the attempt aroused violent sentiments that threatened to explode into bloodshed. A few of Virginia’s more cautious leaders, who had often opposed Henry in the legislature, were able to quiet the citizens of Williamsburg and head off a march on the capital by several volunteer companies that gathered at Fredericksburg. Patrick Henry was not as easily turned aside. He led his Hanover militia company to the outskirts of Williamsburg and demanded payment to the colony for the cost of the seized powder and arms before he finally agreed to break camp.

During Henry’s brief absence from Virginia for the Second Continental Congress, the military preparations that he advocated had come to fruition. The Virginia Convention formed two provincial regiments, and by a narrow vote appointed the inexperienced Henry as commander of the first regiment and the senior officer of the entire force. “I think my countrymen made a capital mistake,” said George Washington, “when they took Henry out of the senate to place him in the field.”

Henry had little difficulty recruiting troops from his growing body of supporters, but in the end his political opponents thwarted his military ambitions. They dominated the Committee of Safety and dispatched the second regiment to fight Dunmore ‘s forces at Great Bridge , in Norfolk County , in December 1775. Early in 1776, when the two regiments were incorporated into the newly organized Continental army, Henry remained a colonel in command of his regiment was placed under the command of his former subordinates. He declined to serve, and his regiment threatened to resign in protest. Henry, however, in a little-known moment that many historians regard as one of his finest, refused to let personal disappointment hurt the American cause and persuaded his men to accept their new officers.

Patrick Henry’s short-lived military career was at an end but his political career was just beginning. As the colonies moved toward independence, Henry was elected to the last of Virginia ‘s revolutionary conventions, which met in Williamsburg on May 6, 1776 . During the next two months the Virginians instructed their delegates at the Continental Congress to declare independence; wrote a new constitution for the state, and adopted the Virginia Declaration of Rights – a precursor of America ‘s Bill of Rights. Without assurances of a strong union between the colonies and foreign support, such as an alliance with France, Henry was initially reluctant to support independence. Once reassured on these questions, however, he participated in drafting Virginia ‘s resolution calling upon Congress to declare the colonies “free and independent.”

Building a Nation

When Henry left the governor’s office in 1779, his political influence was strong. His social standing was confirmed by his marriage, on October 9, 1777 , to Dorothea Dandridge, who was from an old and prominent Virginia family and with whom he had eleven children. Settling upon a 10,000-acre plantation in one of the newly created Southside counties that was named for him, he declined election to the Confederation Congress in favor of his 1780 election to Virginia ‘s House of Delegates. Henry promptly emerged as one of its most influential members, rivaled only by Richard Henry Lee and James Madison. Shifting factions, rather than clearly defined parties, were characteristic of the Virginia legislature in the 1780s. Henry opposed many of James Madison’s efforts to enact reforms had been advocated by Thomas Jefferson, and he was always wary of fiscal policies that favored creditors over farmers and planters. Henry supported measures to provide the national government under the Articles of Confederation with adequate revenues, but was wary of giving other states too much control over Virginia ‘s future. Henry and his allies in the legislature passed only the occasional statute, often to provide relief to debtors, but they were generally successful in defeating or amending bills introduced by Madison and his allies. The major exception was Jefferson’s Statute for Religious Freedom, which Madison steered to passage in 1786. Although strongly committed to religious freedom, Henry opposed Jefferson’s plan of total separation of church and state, favoring instead the continuation of public taxation for the support of all recognized religious groups.

Late in that same year, Henry declined reelection to the governorship, citing reasons of health and the need to look after his private affairs. A movement to strengthen the central government of the new nation was gaining force, which culminating in the Philadelphia convention of 1787. Henry remained committed to augmenting the resources of the Confederation government but suspicious of those who sought to replace it with a stronger central government. Virginia’s emerging Federalists hoped that he might be won over to their viewpoint, and he was among those chosen to participate in the Philadelphia constitutional convention.

Henry declined the honor, citing a lack of funds. He was, however, clearly suspicious that the supporters of a stronger national government included many New Englanders who had favored a treaty with Spain in 1786 that, had it been ratified, would have sacrificed southern interests in the free use of the Mississippi River in favor of commercial advantages for northern merchants. When George Washington sent him a copy of the new constitution with a letter outlining its advantages in September 1787, just after the convention had adjourned, Henry composed a cryptic reply that made his deep reservations clear: “I have to lament that cannot bring my Mind to accord with the proposed Constitution. The Concern I feel on this account, is really greater than I am able to express.” By the end the year James Madison regarded Patrick Henry as the greatest threat to ratification by Virginia.

Henry ran as a delegate to the state ratification convention from Prince Edward County , where he then resided. When the convention met in Richmond on June 2, 1788 , its members were closely divided. As the foremost spokesman for the Anti-Federalists, Henry detailed his objections to the document with eloquent reminders of the liberties for which Virginians had fought and confidence in the state’s autonomy. The unifying theme of all Henry’s speeches in 1788 was the abiding fear of any powerful government that was too centralized and too far removed from its citizens. He denounced the constitution as “clearly a consolidated government” that would destroy the rightful powers of the states. Its principles, he continued, were “extremely pernicious, impolitic, and dangerous.” The Philadelphia convention, he asserted, had proposed “a revolution as radical as that which separated us from Great Britain.” In the end, the Federalists outmaneuvered Henry with a strategy, which had already been successful in other states, of accepting ratification along with a slate of proposed amendments. This concession was enough to win over a small but critical group of moderate Anti-Federalists. Virginia ratified the Constitution by a vote of 89 to 79.

Convinced that individual liberties and Virginia’s interests remained at risk unless the Constitution was modified, Henry maintained unrelenting political pressure toward those goals. When the General Assembly convened on the heels of the ratifying convention, Henry commanded a strong majority of former Anti-Federalists that blocked Madison’s aspirations for a seat in the Senate and promoting a second convention to amend the Federal Constitution.

Once the new government went into operation, many Virginians who had supported the ratification suddenly found themselves opposed to the economic policies advanced by Alexander Hamilton. During the 1790s the commonwealth experienced a major political realignment in which many of Henry’s former Anti-Federalists joined forces with their former opponents to create the new Democratic-Republican party of Jefferson and Madison.

The Later Years

In declining health, Henry retired from the legislature at the end of 1790 and devoted himself to a busy law practice, winning cases in some of his most successful courtroom appearances. By the middle of the decade, however, his political allegiance took a surprising turn, shaped in part by the bloody excesses of the French Revolution, which Henry attributed to the deism of its leaders. Henry proved receptive to overtures from Virginia Federalists such as Washington, Henry Lee, and John Marshall who shared his increasing dissatisfaction of the Democratic-Republican opposition led by Jefferson and Madison. Henry declined appointments as secretary of state, attorney general, justice of the Supreme Court, and minister to Spain and to France, but he reentered politics in 1799 in response to controversies over the repressive measures that Federalists in Congress had enacted against their Democratic-Republican rivals. Henry never endorsed the Federalist’s Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798, but he was equally alarmed by the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions of 1799 (written anonymously by Jefferson and Madison), which advocated state intervention against unconstitutional actions of the federal government. Disunion, he feared, would undo the revolution and lead to anarchy or tyranny. In the spring of 1799 Henry supported John Marshall, a moderate Federalist who had not voted for the Alien and Sedition Acts, for reelection to Congress. At the same time, in response to a direct request from his old friend George Washington, Henry ran again for a seat in the state legislature. He won easily after delivering his last public speech at Charlotte Court House, but he died at Red Hill on June 6, 1799, before the legislature convened.

On June 14, 1799, the Virginia Gazette announced the death of Patrick Henry. “As long as our rivers flow, or mountains stand,” said the Gazette, ” Virginia . . . will say to rising generations, imitate my Henry.” Of the many Americans who were active in the American Revolution at the state level and who generally opposed ratification of the Federal Constitution, Patrick Henry was one of the few who rank among the truly major figures of American history. Unlike most of America’s political heroes, Henry never held high national office. By his oratorical prowess and his unfailing empathy with his constituents and their interests, Henry made the Revolution a more widely popular movement than it might otherwise have become. He explained the revolution to ordinary men and women in words they understood. As an eloquent spokesman for American liberty, Henry also expressed a distrust of centralized political authority that remains a persistent theme in American political culture. “It is not now easy to say what we should have done without Patrick Henry,” said Thomas Jefferson. “He was before us all in maintaining the spirit of the Revolution.”

Near his last will, Patrick Henry left a small envelope sealed with wax. Inside was a single sheet of paper on which he had copied his Resolutions against the Stamp Act. On the back, Patrick Henry left a message that he knew could only be read after his death. It began with a short history of his Resolutions against the Stamp Act, which had “spread throughout America with astonishing Quickness.” As a result, the colonies were united in their “Resistance to British Taxation,” and won “the War which finally separated the two Countries and gave Independence to ours.”

Whether America’s independence “will prove a Blessing or a Curse,” Henry continued in his message to posterity, “will depend on the Use our people make of the Blessings which a gracious God hath bestowed on us. If they are wise, they will be great and happy. If they are of a contrary Character, they will be miserable. Righteousness alone can exalt them as a Nation. Reader! whoever thou art, remember this, and in thy Sphere, practice Virtue thyself, and encourage it in others. P. HENRY”

The Top 10 Bible Prophecy Stories Of 2019

If you have an inkling that we are racing towards Armageddon, you are not mistaken.  The convergence of events that are setting the table for the end of the church age is evident for all with spiritual eyes to see.  The article below should coincide with the mindset of all Christians who are asking:  “What in the world is going on?”  We are observing the total erosion of Biblical morality, LGBTQ is being forced down everyone’s throat, an explosion of technology that is nearly impossible to keep up with, personal privacy is history, and an Antichrist paradigm within the global elites that will not be stopped.  This article is superb, confirming all of this and then some…    Maranatha, Pastor Steve  <><

The Top 10 Bible Prophecy Stories Of 2019

There was a time when news of last days’ significance was sporadic. In the last decade, that has all changed. The stunning convergence of events is no coincidence and while there could be over 100 events to list – here are the top 10 of 2019.

There was a time when news of last days’ significance was sporadic. I could easily do a weekly radio program and hit the highlights of the week in an hour or two on air.

In the last decade, that has all changed. Now, when trying to prepare a new message on the signs of the times, I find myself having to leave out information due to volume. Some things just have to be set aside.

In light of that, let me present what I think are the top ten Bible prophecy signs of 2019. As stated, I could present 110. In some cases, these signs are Tribulation-related events but they are still casting a shadow on the Church Age.

They are not in order of importance because each item is important!

1) The spirit of the Antichrist has been poured out around the world.

In dozens of countries, we see anarchy, lawlessness, rage, and violence. It even came to the heartland of Minneapolis when President Trump spoke here in October. The area around the rally turned into a war zone. It is now cool to be a member of Antifa and to create destruction.

2) The last year has seen the rise of Romans 1 behavior and thinking, the explosion of strong delusion, and the increase in the hatred of God.

There is a collective shrug over things like “Drag Queen Story Hour.” So what, yet this measures our decay more than anything else. A 6’5″ male won the “woman of the week” award at the University of Montana–strong delusion.

Millions of free Americans long to have our country succumb to Socialism and some are praising Marxism. Again, an irrational delusion.

The Western world now has a rabid hatred of God that would be unexplainable had the Bible not warned us that the last days would be characterized by this sentiment. First Europe threw God out and now America is close to it. This is again delusional thinking.

Seminary students in New York are praying and confessing sins to plants. How else can these things be explained other than the pouring out of strong delusion and reprobate mind thinking in these last days?

3) In the last year we have seen a rise in a new world religion.

The Pope of climate change has announced a global crisis. So will climate be the pathway to the New World Order? I think so. The NWO must have a crisis. It will ultimately be the Rapture of the Church but before that, their sky is falling with perceived rising temperatures.

How does an autistic teenager take the world by storm just for having a climate temper tantrum at the U.N. in September? Greta Thunberg was named the successor to Jesus Christ by her home nation of Sweden.

Understand she has a machine behind her–a globalist climate-alarmist machine. And this kind of radicalism is becoming a global religion. It will be a major component of the coming one-world religion.

4) There is a stunning rise in wickedness. Yes, evil is to wax worse and worse (II Timothy 3:13), but it is now out-of-control.

Voodoo dolls are sold in retail stores. Witches continue to try to hex President Trump as well as all Christians or conservatives. Today this makes headlines and is the lead story on Fox News.

Walmart, Amazon, Target, Barnes & Nobles, and others, are selling the “Children’s Book of Demons”, teaching them how to conjure demons and implement them in their lives. They advertise saying, “summoning demons has never been so much fun.”

We learned this year that the drag queen story hour is really rooted in occultism. And the world’s largest Ouija Board made national headlines.

There are now more witches in America than there are Presbyterians according to the Pew Research Center.

Netflix is releasing a new feature January 1 titled “Messiah” but in looking at the trailer, one has to wonder if it isn’t promoting the Antichrist.

5) The mocking and scoffing of the truth has risen to new levels (II Peter 3).

People who want to share the good news of the gospel or the hope of Christ’s return have few who will listen and those who will listen shoot the messenger and the message like never before.

Joy Behar on “The View” is acclaimed for saying Mike Pence has mental illness because he hears the voice of God.

Have you attended a good Bible prophecy conference lately? Understand these are just “hysteria conferences.” Shame on you for believing that the King is coming any day.

Just about the entire secular Left is mocking Christianity or coming up with new laws to undermine Christianity.

6) Christians and Jews are on the run.

Christians are running for their lives and Jews are running to Israel for safety. As The Gatestone Institute reports, the numbers of Christians being killed for their faith is “too many to count.”

Pope Francis just stated that fundamentalist Christians are a “scourge.” Jews and Christians are the “people of the book” and the predicted last days’ condemnation on both has risen to new heights in the last year.

A pro-Palestinian group at the University of Minnesota, just 20 minutes from my home, just called for the slaughter of all Jews and had enormous local support.

Anti-Semites like Rick Wiles are gaining in popularity as he calls the mess in Washington a “Jew coup” and blames the Jews for every problem in the world. He even says their goal is to kill all Christians!

7) The “epicenter”–the Middle East–is in a shake-up.

Vladimir Putin is now being called the new “King of the Middle East.” Is this a foreshadowing of Ezekiel 38-39–the Gog-Magog war?

The players in the Middle East are re-aligning according to the Bible since President Trump abandoned the Kurds this year. Even Israel was shaken by that mistake. Many Jews are asking if Israel is the next to be betrayed?

The constant turmoil is a foreshadowing and stage-setting of a foretold event, the obliteration of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1) likely followed by the Gog-Magog War.

We are just one election away from the complete U.S. abandonment of Israel if a leftist gains the White House.

8) The efforts of the globalists were advanced in the last year.

Pope Francis continued to beat a drum for globalism. Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu continue to represent the nationalist mentality and the globalists are trying to run both out of office.

The United Nations called for global government in less than 12 years.

Europe cries for no borders and liberals in America decry borders.

The world continues to long for a single leader to make all things right as well as for global government.

9) The Church of Laodicea blossomed and lurched even further to the left in the last year.

Apostasy is talked about more than just about any other end-time phenomenon.

Movements such as the New Apostolic Reformation gained new strength calling for Heaven on earth and emphasizing experiential Christianity. This is the fastest-growing “denomination” in the world.

Social justice and “critical race theory” became prominent in the evangelical church that once emphasized soul-winning.

Bible prophecy and Christian support for Israel fell deeper into obscurity in the church.

10) The surveillance of humanity is now big business and privacy is completely gone.

New technologies have emerged that reveal our every step is now being tracked. Someone is following our every move online and our “smart” devices, that seem smarter than humans, are spying on us 24/7. This is a set-up for Antichrist’s empire, as is new technology utilizing artificial intelligence.

Limiting my list to just ten important items forced me to leave off events such as third temple talk in Israel, record-setting birth-pang natural disaster destruction, and the stunning “convergence” of things we have never seen so prominent.

But, I hope I have helped you focus on “signs of the times” that are a herald of His coming in the last year.

And keep in mind that many of these items are going to fully blossom in the Tribulation. What we have now is just a foretaste. God will spare His Church from this wrath as we are enjoying Heaven during this seven-year period of utter chaos on earth.

While it is a challenge to be born for such a time as this, it is encouraging to know that everything is falling into place just as God promised it would.

No matter how globalism is repackaged, it always smells the same way in the end. For decades, the globalists have subtly (or sometimes not so subtly) been moving us toward a world in which national borders have essentially been made meaningless.

The ultimate goal, of course, is to merge all the nations of the world into a “one world socialist utopia” with a global government, a global economic system and even a global religion. The European Union is a model for what the elite hope to achieve eventually on a global scale.

The individual nations still exist, but once inside the European Union you can travel wherever you want, economic rules have been standardized across the Union, and European institutions now have far more power than the national governments.

Liberty and freedom have been greatly restricted for the “common good”, and a giant horde of nameless, faceless bureaucrats constantly micromanages the details of daily life down to the finest details. With each passing day the EU becomes more Orwellian in nature, and that is why so many in Europe are completely fed up with it.

Unfortunately, this is precisely what Antifa, the Democratic Socialists and others on the radical left want to bring to America.

Our high schools and colleges have become hotbeds for “progressive” beliefs, and they are producing millions of young people that have completely and utterly bought into the globalist program. A lot of older Americans simply do not understand that many of these young people want to do away with the United States entirely.

To many of us, such a notion is unthinkable, but the idea that the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. government should be done away with is really starting to catch fire among certain circles.

For example, on Sunday Antifa activists were boldly chanting “no border, no wall, no USA at all”…

Open borders protesters and members of the left-wing anarchist group Antifa chanted death to America during a counter-protest in Washington, DC, on Sunday.

In a video by Breitbart News’ Ian Mason, Antifa members and open borders activists can be heard and seen marching down streets throughout Washington, DC, demanding an end to the United States.

“No border, no wall, no USA at all!” Antifa and open borders activists chanted.

This is what they actually want.

They want a world without national borders, and they want a world in which the United States has been absorbed into a global socialist entity.

And as far as Antifa is concerned, they would be happy to achieve this goal by peaceful means, but they have also publicly embraced violence if that is what is necessary.

On Sunday, Antifa demonstrators in D.C. were also openly advocating the “overthrow of the United States government”…

Antifa and other left-wing groups gathered at Freedom Plaza in downtown Washington, DC, on Sunday carrying signs that reveal one message loud and clear: Remove racist President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence from office and overthrow the United States government.

People passed out “Trump Pence Must Go” stickers and carried signs and banners displaying anti-Trump slogans, including, “Drive Out Trump Pence Fascist Regime.”

You can see some of the protest signs that demonstrators were displaying right here.

Of course Antifa represents a relatively small (but growing) portion of the overall population.

But a movement that represents a whole lot more people is the Democratic Socialists. Thanks to her recent stunning victory in New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become their new standard-bearer, and she is publicly calling for the abolition of ICE…

Democratic New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez explained her belief that abolishing the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is “common sense” during an interview on CNN with John Berman on Thursday morning.

“I think now, we’re starting to realize that ICE — part of that suite of legislation has a structure that allows for civil rights and human rights abuses,” Ocasio-Cortez stated. “And, you know, it may seem like a radical position, but I actually think it is very, very common sense. You know, we should not be separating children from their families.”

But if we don’t have anyone enforcing or protecting our borders, then it would essentially mean that we don’t have any borders at all, and that is precisely what they want.

For Democratic socialists like Ocasio-Cortez, a lack of money is never a concern. They believe that we can completely open up our borders and allow millions upon millions of new immigrants to come pouring in, and that we can also afford to provide free healthcare, free college education, free basic housing and a whole host of other social benefits to them and to everyone else that is already living here.

And even though we are already 21 trillion dollars in debt, somehow we supposedly have the resources necessary to pay for all of this.

I know all of this sounds crazy, but this is what they want, and they are passionate about getting it.

Today, the radical left completely dominates our system of public education, and that is why so many of our young people have become radical leftists. And many of these “true believers” openly talk about a “revolution” in the United States.

Even big stars such as Michael Moore are speaking about “a real insurgency” these days. In his new film, Moore claims that Donald Trump will be “the last president of the United States”, but he doesn’t give any specific details.

So what exactly did Moore mean by that?

Somebody needs to ask him that question.

Sadly, these leftists ultimately don’t want more liberty and freedom.

Instead, they want a world that they can “transform” into their own image. They want a world where free speech is highly censored on the Internet, where your money is taken and “redistributed” to someone else, and where even the smallest details of your daily life are micromanaged “for the good of humanity”.

Ultimately, what they crave is tyranny.

They better be careful what they wish for, because someday they might end up getting it.

You Tube Pulls Plug On Bible Videos

News Image

Bob Unruh

Posted with permission from WND
Videos promoting ISIS and violent jihad can be found on YouTube. So can those of the KKK, communists and antifa.
But the Bible lessons and radio interviews posted on the personal channel of Carl Gallups, a popular pastor and author, can’t.
They’ve been censored by the Internet giant. Pulled down. Dropped.

According to Gallups, the channel was terminated over Thanksgiving weekend without explanation, even though there had been no “marks” against it and he rigorously followed the rules.
It’s not the first time a faith-focused or conservative-oriented channel has been censored by YouTube. At least three other major cases developed this year, against columnists Michelle Malkin, Michael Brown and Dennis Prager, all of whom have conservative views.
Nor is it the only time there’s been a hint that the company is not fond of conservative thought. An undercover video by Project Veritas captured Earnest Pettie, the brand and diversity curation lead at YouTube, admitting he helped “push to the top” the videos of an editor for the left-leaning New York Times.
“In very rare cases, we will try to make up for the fact that something isn’t in the trending tab,” Pettie said. “We will, like, use some type of intervention … to encourage the thing to be there.”
See Carl Gallups’ library of work, in “When the Lion Roars,” “The Rabbi Who Found Messiah,” “Be Thou Prepared,” “The Magic Man in the Sky” and “Final Warning,” all at the WND Superstore.
He said “algorithms do control everything but sometimes you need humans to provide a check.”
Gallups told WND he tried to get an explanation from YouTube, because his channel was “in perfect standing (all green)” immediately prior to its termination.
He noted that there was no warning, and while YouTube has a “three strikes” policy, “We never even received strike 1.”
“YouTube gave no explanation at all for this termination but rather, after repeated requests for an explanation, simply referred us to their ‘Terms and Conditions’ page,” he said.
YouTube declined to respond to a WND request for comment.
Gallups said his channel ” was fully monetized,” explaining “we only used either our own material or music sanctioned by YouTube’s creator studio as suitable for use and monetizing.”
That means, he said, the channel’s termination “has caused great harm to our messaging ability and done irreparable damage to our relationships within the professional community.”

The channel contained his biblical videos and a few of his radio interviews.
He said he suspects he was targeted by a “flagging” effort by an activist group to generate complaints from those “who disagree with our views and opinions.”
WND reported last month a lawsuit was filed on behalf of WND columnist Dennis Prager in his fight with YouTube.
The complaint expressed outrage over how the online giants “use their restricted mode filtering not to protect younger or sensitive viewers from ‘inappropriate’ video content, but as a political gag mechanism to silence PragerU.”
Prager University, founded by Prager, is “a conservative nonprofit digital media organization that is associated with and presents the views of leading conservative experts on current and historical events.”
Liberty Counsel, which is defending Prager, explained the organization produces short videos viewed by millions that are “broadly based on Judeo-Christian values and conservative thought.”
WND commentator Michael Brown said in August that 900 of his videos were demonetized.
“Debates I had with rabbis were flagged; powerful stories, like a Muslim woman being healed by Jesus, were flagged; videos where I answered questions like, ‘Should Christians Homeschool Their Children?’ or ‘Did Jesus Claim to Be God?’ were flagged, along with videos of spiritual encouragement (like the one encouraging believers to look to the Lord in the midst of chaos),” he said. “Teaching videos were flagged (like the one explaining that the preface to the King James Version of the Bible refutes King James Onlyism), along with motivational videos (like the one where I talked about how I lost 95 lbs.). All these were flagged, along with the many videos that focused on LGBT issues or radical Islam or politics. Seriously?”
And Michelle Malkin said: “If you post videos on YouTube radicalizing Muslim viewers to kill innocent people, YouTube will leave you alone. But if you post a video on YouTube honoring innocent people murdered by barbaric jihadists, your video will get banned.”

In January, the YouTube account of the blog Legal Insurrection, by Cornell Law Professor William Jacobson, was ended.
Several years ago, a video on a channel to which Gallups contributed had been targeted, resulting in termination of the channel.
However, after a review, it was reinstated.
At that time, a source inside Google who asked not to be identified told Gallups a “coordinated flagging” campaign had occurred, which triggered the termination of the channel.
The targeted video was titled “A Call To Prayer.”

Videos posted on YouTube can be rated by viewers. An individual can click the “like” button (a “thumbs up” icon) or the dislike button (a “thumbs down” icon). A viewer also can click a “flag” icon to tell YouTube a video a certain video is “inappropriate.”

Top Bible Prophecy Stories Of 2017

Top Bible Prophecy Stories Of 2017

By Jan Markell/Olivetreeviews.org December 29, 2017

Pieces of the eschatological puzzle continue to manifest daily. Even signs that are primarily Tribulation events are casting a shadow today. As I perused news stories of the year, I selected 15 items that tell us time is short. The King is coming soon. Don’t ever doubt that.

1. Jerusalem became a greater “burdensome stone” with Donald Trump’s acknowledgement that this is truly Israel’s capital and holy city. See Zechariah 12:3. Greater controversy will surround her in the year ahead.

2. The Gog-Magog alliance went on fast-forward. Iran, Turkey, and Russia are uniting with a primary goal in mind — coming against Israel as foreshadowed in Ezekiel 38-39. Turkey’s Erdogan threatened to “wipe out all Jews” after the Jerusalem announcement.

3. A new false god came on the scene and many hailed its arrival. An ex-Google executive is founding a church where artificial intelligence will be worshiped. It’s called AI for short and keep your eyes on this in 2018.

4. The scoffing of eschatology went to a new level. Many said the announcement concerning Jerusalem was received well by many Christians only because it will hasten Christ’s return. Many who love prophecy have given up finding a church that will address this.

5. Tribulation Temple talk escalated after Donald Trump’s announcement concerning Jerusalem.

6. One salacious scandal followed another in 2017 revealing that man’s character now reflects the end-time warnings of Romans 1 and II Timothy 3.

7. Israel continued pounding targets in Syria foreshadowing the day when she will carry out the prophetic verse found in Isaiah 17:1 — the destruction of Damascus.

8. The idea of micro-chipping is now so accepted that one news outlet said people will soon be eager to be micro-chipped. It was suggested that we will eagerly line up like dogs for a chip.

9. As predicted, evil is waxing worse and worse (II Timothy 3:13). Pagan gods are appearing in many places including at the U.N. The occult is more appealing than ever and Millennials are “spellbound” by the paranormal.

10. Lawlessness is growing and the ‘spirit of Antichrist’ seems to be poured out on the earth in greater ways this past year. The Antifa movement is one illustration. George Soros is busier than ever in his waning years.

11. There has been an intensification of calling evil good (Isaiah 5:20). Islamic jihad proponent Linda Sarsour made threatening comments about President Trump yet almost became Time magazine’s “person of the year.” In the mind of the Left, Islam must be celebrated.

12. The world of technology has declared war on Christians and conservatives. Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and more, are pulling the plug or limiting righteous comments and ideology yet they often celebrate evil. This reached new levels in 2017.

13. The terms “peace and security” are used in the Bible in I Thessalonians 5:3. It is false peace and security. The term was used with greater intensity in the last year. Donald Trump has been heralded as the president who will bring Israel “peace and security.” On December 18, Fox News said President Trump would bring peace and security around the globe. The President stated that he “has laid a pathway to peace and security in our world.”

14. In spite of world turmoil, there is a greater “business-as-usual” atmosphere particularly in America. Since Donald Trump has been President, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has closed at record highs 82 times. The Bible suggests there will be such a comfortable time on earth when Christ returns in spite of the frequent “birth pangs” which have also been record-setting.

15. There is even more evidence that only Jesus ruling and reigning from Jerusalem will provide great government. It has become evident that mankind cannot drain a swamp filled with alligators and poisonous snakes! Washington is corrupt to the core because mankind’s heart is “desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9). Draining the swamp was a great campaign slogan but 2017 showed us that first man’s heart must be made new.

We can look at a list like this and focus on ” sighs of the times” rather than realize that they are ” signs of the times.” The pieces of the puzzle continue to fall into place. Nothing is falling apart but instead falling into place.

Because of the turmoil of our times, someone said that the future is not what it used to be. Not true. The future was foretold and is playing out with a precise script and a predictable end only because it is all outlined in scripture. We can watch it in high-definition color with surround sound and even in 3D. We have front row seats!

The King is coming, perhaps today.

Antifa Rallies Planned in at Least 20 U.S. Cities – Won’t ‘Stop Until This Regime Driven from Power’

Antifa Rallies Planned in at Least 20 U.S. Cities – Won’t ‘Stop Until This Regime Driven from Power’
November 04 2017

The left-wing, Antifa Refuse Fascism group is planning rallies in at least 20 cities across the United States on Saturday to demand that the duly-elected President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence be “driven from power.”
In a full-page ad in the New York Times on Wednesday, the group advertised its event:
Nov 4 it begins — be there — join with the thousands who will gather in cities and towns across the country. A movement of protests that continue every day and night, growing until we become millions … determined not to stop until this is driven from power.
Newsweek reported on Thursday:
“Refuse fascism,” a nascent protest group with ties to a more explicitly left-wing radical group, “the revolutionary communist party,” doesn’t seem like a typical fit for the left-leaning pages of the paper known as The Gray Lady, but very little has been normal about the Trump era so far, according to organizers.
The regime is destroying the planet by ignoring climate change, they say, and they claim it is turning America into a fascist country through an unprecedented series of executive orders.
“What Trump and his administration are doing could pose an existential threat to humanity,” Andy Zee, a member of the advisory board for Refuse Fascism, told Newsweek in a phone interview.
“We’re in one of the most perilous moments in history right now,” Zee said.
The Refuse Fascism website states:
No! In the name of humanity, we refuse to accept a fascist America! Take to the streets and public squares in cities and towns across the country continuing day after day and night after night — not stopping until our DEMAND is met: This Nightmare Must End: The Trump/Pence Regime Must Go!
A list follows naming what those nightmares are, including discrimination against Muslims and gays, objectivism and harassment of women, and the danger posed by climate change.
The “about” portion of the Refuse Fascism states:
We launched RefuseFascism.org at an emergency meeting at the Great Hall of Cooper Union in NYC on December 19th, 2016.  Watched by some 200,000 people on HuffPo’s FaceBookLive, Andy Zee, PZ Myers, Carl Dix, Jeremy Scahill, Imam Ayub Abdul-Baki, Rev. Doris Johnson, Sunsara Taylor, Immortal Technique, and Fran Luck spoke along with messages from Gloria Steinem, Chase Iron Eyes, Isabel Cardenas, and others on the fascist character of the Trump/Pence Regime and called on people to get organized to stop it before it came to power.
But some are saying that the reaction to the planned rallies is overplayed and is being characterized by some conservative websites as the start of a civil war.
The Washington Post reported:
Infowars has warned “Antifa Plans ‘Civil War’ to Overthrow the Government.” The John Birch Society put out two recent videos warning Americans to “stay home and tell your children to do likewise” on Saturday.  YouTuber “A Glock Fanboy” notched more than 400,400 views for a clip raising the alarm about “the first day of the revolution or whatnot.”
Time magazine flatly said the claims of an insurrection are: “simply not true.”
There will indeed be anti-Trump rallies in 20 cities around the U.S. on Saturday, from Atlanta to Honolulu, organized by a left-wing political action group called Refuse Fascism whose goal is unseating Trump. But its tactics — including but not limited to a “passionate speak-out with music and participatory art” — are a far cry from violent insurrection.
Nor is it likely that the streets will be teeming with angry mobs: only 990 people have said that they’re attending the demonstration in New York, according to the event’s Facebook group.
Among the at least 20 cities where rallies are set to occur are Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.
