Suffering / Part 2

In the next parts on this doctrine of suffering, we will use many illustrations from the book “Broken Things and Why We Suffer,” written by  the late Dr. M. R. DeHaan, the founder of the Radio Bible Class and its speaker for twenty-seven years.  He was a practicing physician before receiving his call to ministry, and subsequently he pastored several churches prior to founding the Radio Bible Class.  This book is a mere 95 pages, and by far the best book I have ever read on suffering beside the Bible itself.  You and I suffer because of God’s great love for us, as he chisels us into His image.  Trust Him.   In Christ, Pastor Steve

People often do not care to discuss it, but it is suffering – A Natural Progression Of Christian Maturity

So many people do not like to even consider this topic because it is something the world does not like.  We like to look out for number one, satisfy the senses, and look and feel good.  Let us see what the Bible says about the Christian and suffering-

2 Timothy 3:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

The scripture tells us that NOT some or a few will suffer, but ALL, so we should expect and be ready for it.  If I do not suffer and experience persecution, the scripture tells me that I am not living godly in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10  King James Version (KJV)  Paul’s Thorn In The Flesh

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

1 Peter 4:12-13  King James Version (KJV)

12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

On farmland, there can be no blessing without effort, and no harvest without plowing.  The ground must be broken up before anything can be planted.  Before a thing can be made, something must be broken.  Before a house is built, earth, rocks and trees must be removed.  Before there can be life, there must be death.  Before there can be joy, there must be weeping.  The pain of the birth precedes the joy of the newborn child.  THERE IS NO MAKING WITHOUT BREAKING.  Life is full of broken promises and broken hopes, shattered dreams, and unfulfilled ideals.  No one can escape them.

As followers of God though, we know that broken things are the assurance that God is making something.  Romans 8:28 says it all:   28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Our heartache, weakness, sickness, pain, tragedy and bereavement are for the glory of God.

Only broken things are useful to God.  In Judges, chapter 7 we have the familiar story of Gideon.  When Gideon’s men attacked the enemy, they had to break the pitchers to let the light within, shine forth in the darkness.  The visual effect scared the enemy and they fled in disorder throughout the night.  Instead of 300 men, they thought there were 300 companies.

Let us examine the broken pitchers.  The pitchers were earthen vessels, and hidden in them were flaming torches of light.  We who are saved are the earthen vessels to whom the Lord has trusted the blessing of the Holy Spirit.  Within us is our burning torch, the Holy Spirit, by whom we can do all things.  We need to be broken before our light can shine.  It is only then that we experience a life of victory and power.

I Corinthians 11:24  Paul quotes Jesus   “…this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.”  Without the broken body of the Lord Jesus Christ, we could not be made whole.  God knows how everything must be broken before it can be used fruitfully.  A wild horse must be broken and tamed before we can use it.

2015 Second Orlando Prophecy Summit, Special Edition

Donald Perkins  /  Mark Of The Beast

This message is from a wonderful preacher in Southern California who has been preaching the Gospel for thirty years.  Unlike the many other installations of the 2015 Orlando Prophecy Summit on this blog site, you can watch this message live.  You will never hear a finer preacher who makes the Gospel plain and easy to understand.  Donald is patient, speaks plainly, and will talk at length with anyone  in his spare moments who sees him at the conference.  Our son Matthew and I were at this seminar.  This special edition video is the same as 2015 Second Orlando Prophecy Summit, Part 8.  Enjoy…   Pastor Steve   <><

Evangelist Don Perkins and his beautiful wife, Marie, are both Spirit-filled and committed Christians. They reside in Southern California. He has been ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ for nearly thirty years and has been a guest speaker several times at our prophecy conferences.
He is an absolutely wonderful preacher and also a dear friend to Linda Church and Prophecy in the News. We have just started offering his DVD sets of messages for the first time. Watch below as he speaks the message of “The Mark of the Beast” from our 2015 Orlando Prophecy Summit.

The Last Days & The Anti Christ Spirit Lives Within Barack Obama

Amazingly, many Christians without knowing each other have come to the same conclusion that Barack Hussein Obama is/could be the Antichrist.  Watch the following videos.  Personally, I equate him as having the spirit of Antichrist, yet withhold judgment.  Many believe he is intentionally imploding the economy, so our nation will go bankrupt, and he can then institute martial law, and order people to receive the mark in order to buy or sell.  It has been suggested that our national deficit is actually 70 trillion rather than 18 trillion, since the government could be covering up and hiding the majority of the national debt.  Many believe his presidency will not cease, and he will progress into a nefarious global leader.

Here is a fascinating passage of scripture that refers to the Antichrist:  “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” (Daniel 7:25, KJV)  “Wearing out the saints and changing the laws” is what I find very intriguing.  The homosexual, sodomite, LGBT theme of his presidency, has indeed sanctified sodomy in the eyes of our government and even the world.  This is the first time this has happened in man’s history!  And he certainly is wearing out the saints with his apostate policies.  Do not forget, when he first came on the scene, he correctly stated that marriage was intended for  only a man with a woman.  Now consider his metamorphosis!

Note Obama’s Muslim faith, and his continual disparaging remarks about Jesus Christ and Christianity.  Note his attempts at rewriting history: 1) He said in his first inaugural speech:  “This is no longer a Christian nation.”  2) In classic dictatorial fashion, he has focused several times on addressing what he calls the “great influence of the Muslim faith on America.”  Our younger populace is primed for mass deception.  Bernie Sanders, a confirmed socialist, just won a Democratic primary in a major state (Michigan) over Hillary Clinton.  It seems to me that many people under forty are primed for a dictator.

Daniel 11:37
King James Bible
“Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.”  Some have concluded that the Antichrist may be a homosexual from this passage of scripture.

Suffice it to say at this point that I believe Barack Hussein Obama is evil, and pursued and achieved power in order to promote his wicked agenda.  Because of the unbelievable rebellion against God in the United States of America, the Lord has allowed this man to become president.  We received the leader we deserved.  Do I believe he is the Antichrist?  I believe he has the qualifications, but at this point in time I would never make such a bold assessment.  I am praying for revival in our nation for the sake of our children and grandchildren.  We may not deserve revival, but the Lord is full of mercy and slow to anger, and with Him, all things are possible.  Blessings, Pastor Steve

2015 Second Orlando Prophecy Summit, Part 30

Doug Stauffer  ~  Interview With Hagmann & Hagmann

Doug Hagmann and his son Joe Hagmann interviewed Doug Stauffer.  Doug Stauffer is a Bible student and Bible prophecy expert and has a website Bibledoug.com  He has written over ten books.  His latest DVD is God’s wrath verses the pre-tribulation rapture.  The Hagmann’s set up the interview to question Doug Stauffer about a pre-tribulation rapture.

Why is the timing of the rapture (pre, mid, post) so divisive?  If you go to the Bible with a private interpretation, you can make it say whatever you want it to say.  The point is, there is no private interpretation, there is only one truth, and it is our job to find that.  We must work and keep studying to find truth and answers.

What is God’s wrath verses Satan’s wrath?  God’s wrath is the Day of the Lord in Revelation 6, the great day of His wrath.  The trumpet and vial judgments in Revelation are God’s wrath.  God takes the church home prior to the Great Tribulation, and Satan intervenes directly with Israel (the abomination of desolation) through the Antichrist, the Beast and the False Prophet.

What is the Tribulation Period?  Deuteronomy 4:29 expounds on the Tribulation Period as does Daniel 9:24-27 which is called the 70 weeks of Daniel.  The Tribulation Period is the time of Jacob’s Trouble.  God will take away Israel’s sins one day.  God will also take away their blindness at the end of the church age (Romans 11:25).  In the church age, we are to provoke Israel to jealousy.  When Satan desecrates the temple (abomination of desolation), the Israelites will turn to God as a nation.  (The Jews worship the temple, they do not worship the true God of the temple).  They will flee into the mountains for the last three and one half years for protection.  Israel will realize that Jesus is the Messiah after the church is taken out of the way.

God’s wrath verses the pre-tribulation rapture.  What is God’s wrath verses the pre-tribulation rapture?  Are we going to escape God’s wrath only, or will we be taken prior to the Tribulation Period?  The church will be raptured PRIOR to the Tribulation Period because all of God’s focus will return to Jacob.  It is the time of Jacob’s Trouble, it is Daniel’s 70th week, it is the time of His chosen people, His city is Jerusalem, it is the Jews, and it has nothing to do with the church.

At the rapture, God will resurrect all the bodies of the believers who died, and then they will meet their souls.  We who are alive will be raised in the twinkling of an eye.  The Bible says very clearly that all Christians who live faithfully will suffer tribulation before the Great Tribulation.  “All who live Godly in Christ will suffer persecution.”  (II Timothy 3:12)  The church will focus on Christ even more so as the Tribulation gets closer.

How will the media explain the rapture?  Rejecters of Christ will be sent strong delusion that they shall believe a lie that they may all be damned who have pleasure in unrighteousness.  They will believe the lie.  The media will spin the story and dupe people because they want to be duped.  ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN will fool everyone with a lie.  If one rejects Jesus Christ and the Gospel, they will not fall on their face before God.  People will believe the strong delusion and the lie.  God will provide them with a lie because ONCE THE CHURCH AGE IS PAST, GOD’S LONGSUFFERING IS FINISHED.  Matthew 24:4 tells us that people will believe in false Christs.  There will be great deception.

Doug Stauffer  ~  Deliverance or Devastation, Son of God or Son of Perdition?

God’s Wrath versus The Pre-Tribulation Rapture.   http://www.BibleDoug.com

Doug’s desire is to prove the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church.  The Tribulation Period is split into two periods of 1260 days.  Titus 2:11 tells us to look up for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of Jesus Christ.  I Thessalonians 5:8  “…for God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”  The blessed hope is when we obtain salvation from the wrath to come.  Romans 13:11  “…for now is your salvation nearer than when we believed.”  Jeremiah 30:3 refers to Israel coming back as a nation (1948) and the Day of Jacob’s Trouble (Great Tribulation).  Daniel’s 70th Week, Daniel 9:24-27 is the Great Tribulation Period.  Joel 2:31  “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood before the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.”  Joel 3:15.  Matthew 24:29.

The Day of Christ is not the Day of the Lord.  Philippians 1:6, 10, 2:16.  The Day of Christ refers to the rapture.  I Corinthians 1:8, 3:13, 5:5.  II Corinthians 1:14.  II Timothy 1:12.  The Day of Christ is the rapture.  The Day of the Lord follows the Great Tribulation Period.  II Timothy 1:18, 4:8.

Day of Christ-

A Day of Blessing/Reward.

For The Church.

A Heavenly Hope.

Time To Be Eagerly Anticipated.

*****************

Day of the Lord-

A Day of Judgment.

For Rejecters of Christ.

An Earthly Wrath.

Time To Be Feared and Dreaded.

The Trumpet Alarms

Zephaniah 1:14.  The Day of the Lord.  Revelation 6:12.  The sixth seal.  Zephaniah 1:7.  Revelation 8:1.  II Peter 3:3-7.  The Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.  Christ’s coming for the Church is mentioned repeatedly as a primary theme of the Thessalonian books.  The writings give us peace, hope and comfort.  This is contrasted with references to His Second Coming.    I Thessalonians 2:19.  I Thessalonians 1:9.  No scriptures in the Word of God teach pre wrath or mid tribulation.  I Thessalonians 4:17.  In Doug Stauffer’s opinion, I Thessalonians 5 refers NOT to the Rapture but to the Day of the Lord.

Consider some facts about how a thief operates-

A thief comes unexpectedly; the world will not be ready at Christ’s Second Coming.

A thief does not take everything; Christ will not take everybody but limits His gathering to His jewels (Jewish believers).

A thief leaves much more than he takes.  The Bible says that few are saved and the majority have rejected the way of escape.  Matthew 7:13.

I Thessalonians 5:9.  The Blessed Hope and Rapture of the Church.

II Thessalonians describes the Mystery of Iniquity.  (Antichrist).  Satan will become a man.  We are with the Lord at His coming.

We are in for a pre-tribulation rapture, we are not in for God’s wrath.

There will be a great falling away (apostasy) prior to the rapture, THEN the Man of Perdition will be revealed.  Michael the archangel is hindering the man of sin from being revealed.

We are looking for the blessed hope. Amen.

What are you waiting for?

The signing of the covenant?

The War in heaven?

The Breaking of the Covenant?

The Abomination of Desolation?

Fleeing into the Wilderness?

The Sun and Moon to be darkened?

The Angels gathering the Elect?

Eschatology 31 ~ The Rapture- Pre, Mid Or Post Tribulation?

Nearly all Christians will tell you that they believe the next apocalyptic event on God’s calendar is the Rapture of the Church and the coming of Jesus Christ for His Bride.  This was believed in the early church, and they greeted each other with the phrase “Maranatha,” meaning the Lord is coming!  In fact, the believers in Thessalonica believed in it so strongly that they thought they missed it!  Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, wrote Thessalonians I and II in order to set them straight.  Thessalonians is all about a Pre Great Tribulation Rapture of the Church.  Lost people will believe peace and safety will prevail and sudden destruction will come upon them.  This time period, however, will not catch the discerning Christian by surprise.

**********

Revelation 3:10 King James Version (KJV)

10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

**********

I believe the Bible gives strong credence to ONLY a Pre Tribulation Rapture of the Church.  Why?  For one thing, the Lord never judged the just (those saved by faith) with the unjust at Noah’s Flood, at Sodom and Gomorrah, or even in Jericho.  In each case, believers were taken out and protected from God’s universal judgment.  God says about Himself:  “I am the Lord, I change not.”  The hermeneutical first mention principle tells us that God will totally exonerate believers from the worst “one of a kind” judgment to ever strike planet earth.  Christians erroneously tell me that since we must endure trials and tribulations, this proves we must endure at least part of the Great Tribulation.  This is convoluted logic.  The tribulations we endure in our daily walk have absolutely NOTHING to do with a just and holy God treading the wine press and unleashing His fury on a Christ rejecting world.  The Great Tribulation is called Jacob’s Trouble, and there is no period in human history to compare it to.  We are talking total hell on earth.  Our tribulations are 1) getting fired from a job because of our faith, 2) an unbelieving spouse leaving us, 3) being ostracized by people because of our faith.  To compare the Great Tribulation to our persecution, trials and tribulations is comparing elephants with apricots- no can do.

Furthermore, the major prophecy conferences such as Joe Van Koevering’s “International Prophecy Conference,” and the “Prophecy In The News” summits in Orlando, Pike’s Peak and elsewhere, all promote a Pre Tribulation Rapture.  These conferences typically host up to twenty speakers and their eschatological theology is of one accord.  The following household names all believe in a Pre Tribulation Rapture: Hal Lindsey, Tim LaHaye (Left Behind Series), Jack Van Impe, Thomas Ice, David Jeremiah and John MacArthur.

**********

Now, why else do we know that the Rapture will happen before the Great Tribulation?  The alternatives do not make any sense.  A Post Tribulation Rapture would place the Rapture at the same time as Jesus Christ’s Second Coming, when He comes to the earth in judgment at the end of the Great Tribulation period.  The Mid Tribulation idea is just as faulty because it “dates” the Rapture.  How so?  The Great Tribulation will commence with the signing of a peace treaty between Israel and the Antichrist.  If the Mid Tribulation theory was true, the Rapture would happen three and one half years after the peace treaty and we would know all that time in advance when the Lord would come for His Church!  We would have a date set years in advance.  How absurd.

The ONLY way that the Rapture can always remain immanent, is if it occurs BEFORE the Great Tribulation period commences.  Any other time would place a date on it.  If that were the case, the next apocalyptic event would NOT be the Rapture, it would be the signing of the peace treaty between the Antichrist and Israel.  People who believe in a Mid or Post Tribulation Rapture are waiting for the appearance of the Antichrist.  Folks like me who believe in a Pre Tribulation Rapture are focused on the coming of Christ for His Bride, the Church.  Praise God, I can say:  “Maranatha, the Lord is coming!”

“Be ye therefore ready also, for the Son of Man cometh at an hour when ye think not.”  Luke 12:40   One cannot believe this verse unless they understand the Pre Tribulation rapture!

Blessings, Pastor Steve

2015 Second Orlando Prophecy Summit, Part 27

Doug Stauffer  ~  The Christian Race:  Ready…  Set…  Gone!

Pre-tribulation Rapture:

“Many teachers view the teaching on the Pre-tribulation Rapture like the Titanic viewed the iceberg- they only saw the top part of it.  The magnitude of the evidence offers them a sinking feeling when they realize the truth.  That is really the truth of the Pre-tribulation Rapture.”  I and II Thessalonians teach a Pre-tribulation Rapture.

II Thessalonians 2

The message of the Lord’s return for the church is a message of hope, encouragement and comfort, not one of fear and wrath.  The Church will not be removed from the earth because the world views us as righteous, but simply because God does.  We will go through tribulation, but not THE Great Tribulation.  We will suffer persecution but not THE Great Tribulation.  Daniel’s 70th Week or Jacob’s Trouble, deal with the nation of Israel and not us.

II Thessalonians 2:7  “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.”

The mystery of iniquity will culminate in the Abomination of Desolation at the mid-point of Daniel’s 70th Week.  The mystery of iniquity discussed in II Thessalonians chapter 2 is the antithesis to the mystery of godliness.  The mystery of godliness is I Timothy 3:16, referring to Jesus Christ, that God was manifest in the flesh.  The mystery of iniquity is Satan manifest in the flesh.

************************

II Thessalonians 2: 1-2  “Our gathering together unto Him” refers to the rapture of the church.  That is the blessed hope, the hope of salvation.  I Thessalonians 4:17 speaks of us being caught up together.  The rapture of the church was a mystery until Paul revealed it.  We will meet Jesus in the clouds.  The believers thought they missed the rapture of the church.  There will be a lot of tribulation before the Great Tribulation.

II Thessalonians 2: 3-4  The Day of Christ (Rapture) will not happen until there be a great falling away (apostasy) and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.  An apostasy happens prior to the rapture of the church.  Men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, ever learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.  Evil men shall wax worse and worse.  It involves a departing from the faith in the later times.  Christians are departing from the faith.  The falling away precedes the revelation of the man of sin by 3 1/2 years.  The man of sin is the son of perdition or the mystery of iniquity.

II Thessalonians 2: 5-6  The abomination of desolation is withheld for 3 1/2 years, the first half of the Great Tribulation.

II Thessalonians 2: 7-8a  Michael the archangel is hindering the revelation of the wicked one.  (Revelation 12:7)

II Thessalonians 2: 7-10  Michael will be taken out of the way and the wicked one will be revealed- the Abomination of Desolation.

II Thessalonians 3:5  “The patient waiting for Christ” is the blessed hope.  We are patiently waiting for Christ and His soon return.

As apostasy, persecution and tribulation come, preach Christ and Him crucified!

We are waiting for the blessed hope!  Even so, come Lord Jesus.  Maranatha.
