The following is written by Daniel Thompson, and is a portion of his paper on The Pre Tribulation Rapture of the Church, for a course in End Times Prophecy / Eschatology, taken at the Southwest Florida Bible Institute during the summer of 2017:
…. “I explained that different people in the Church today believe that the Rapture will take place at different possible times, or maybe not at all. I also have explained what the Rapture of the Church is, and now I will tell you my own opinion of when the Rapture will happen. Based on what I have studied in God’s Word, I believe the Rapture will take place before the Tribulation Period. I am a Pre-Tribulation Rapture person due to the strong evidence of God’s Word. By understanding Daniel’s 70 Weeks prophecy, and knowing that the 70th week is Jewish time, not Gentile time. When the Church is Raptured, the 70th week will then begin what is known as the time of Jacob’s Trouble or the Seven Year Tribulation.
The other reason I believe that the Rapture will happen before the Tribulation, is that God sent His only begotten Son Jesus to come to this earth to pay a price for all the sin in the world. Since Jesus paid the price in full for each and everyone of us, why would we, the church, have to go through the Tribulation Period? Some scriptures such as Revelation 3:10, I Thessalonians 1:10, and I Thessalonians 5:9 all refer to the Church not being subject to wrath, and they will be kept from the hour of testing which we call the time of Jacob’s Trouble.
Also, would a natural father have his child go through a great time of tribulation? I don’t think so. If not, why would our Heavenly Father who loves us, put us through a time of Great Tribulation?”
