Easy Believism And The Feel Good Gospel
“When unrepentant sinners feel comfortable in a church week after week, month after month, and year after year, it is a clear signal that the entire counsel of God is not being preached, taught or adhered to. This is an indication that the church has abused grace and made it an excuse to live in sin. There is a lack of the fear of God in many a church today, and the Lord calls the fear of God the beginning of wisdom.”
Jude 4 “For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” (ESV)
A pastor friend of mine told his parishioners that after a solid dose of his preaching, enquirers to the faith would either run down the aisle for salvation, or run out the back door because sins’ hold on them was greater than their desire to repent. This is the intention and desired effect when people are confronted with the Word of God. Not everyone who hears the whole counsel of God becomes saved! The same sunshine that melts ice hardens clay. When the church becomes nonchalant and even welcoming towards the unrepentant, then the Lord will take His candlestick out and leave Himself.
