Questions Asked How To Receive Jesus Christ As Lord And Savior

Many questions are asked about when Jesus Christ returns to this earth.  I have been asked who God will take to Heaven, and who will be left.  Last week’s message was about the rapture- what it will be like and when it will happen.  When it will happen no one knows for sure but I think it is close.  Folks, this event is real and every believer is waiting for this day.  Jesus will be the One who will decide who will go and who will stay.

The Bible scriptures make it clear what we must do.  A commitment has to be made with Jesus Christ, there is no other way.  I don’t care how good you are, or how nice a person you may be, or how much you have accomplished.  Without this commitment you will be left here when He comes.  Folks, you have to realize that when we are born we have a sin nature which we receive from Adam and Eve.  When they sinned against God, all sin passed on to their descendants which includes us.  God does not tolerate sin, therefore no sin will enter into heaven.  Anyone who has not made that commitment with Christ is separated from God.  This commitment is easy folks.  Pray to God and say I know I am a sinner.  I believe Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for my sins.  I’m sorry for the wrong I’ve done to you.  I believe Jesus rose from the dead, making it possible for me to experience a new life in heaven.  Thank you for forgiving me.  From this day forward I will choose to follow Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  This is the commitment folks.  See, it wasn’t that bad.  Now you have security in this world.

When Jesus died on the cross, He bore the punishment for our sins.  You are not separated from God anymore.  You have access to heaven.  There are so many people lost in our world, who have no hope when they die.   Jesus tells us in the scriptures that He will return to earth to claim His people- those who have made a commitment to Him.  When Jesus comes, it will be an hour when we least expect Him.  It will be fast and suddenly.

The Bible tells us to always be on guard and to be ready and alert.  Folks, a lot of people won’t believe these events, but they will come true, but when, we do not know.  There are no more prophetic events yet to be fulfilled, so Jesus told us to watch for signs.  This generation we live in may be it.  Pray folks- things and events are happening very fast.

***   The above article resonates not only with salvation, but also with Christmas.  Why?  Because Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem in order to die for our sins thirty three years later.  He is Lord and Savior of all who place their belief and trust in Him.   ***   Pastor Steve
