Eschatology 30, Nineteenth Sign Of Christ’s Coming………….

The nineteenth sign of the Lord’s soon return is the apathetic spiritual mindset of nearly all people today.  “I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”  (Luke 18:8)  This is the rhetorical question that Jesus asked the people of His day.  A mere decade or generation ago, it would have been difficult to make sense of this question.  People then who never attended church still believed in God and often had the fear of God.  But my oh my, how the times have changed.  I would never dream we would be showing a movie in our church called: “God Is Not Dead.”  Unfortunately, most people are so faithless that this film resonates with the times.  Another sign of Christ’s coming is the waning in understanding and acknowledgement of the reality of the Godhead.  This generation understands how to avoid work and receive entitlements, they study ancient myths, and they know the way to the tattoo parlor but not much else.  Oh yes, this statement is an exaggeration with many notable exceptions; nonetheless, there is a lot of truth to it.  People today pride themselves for being atheists and agnostics, believing that slime plus a lot of time and chance, accounts for the complexities and orderliness of our marvelous universe.  They are indeed “willingly ignorant” and God has only one statement in the Bible about atheists (Psalms 14:1; 53:1), calling them fools.  Churches today are top heavy, and folks aged forty on down are missing in action.  Baby Boomers are doing double duty and tired.  I have seen many young and middle aged adults who were baptized in church and they formerly attended church on a regular basis, who now will not even attend on Christmas Eve or Easter morning.  The family structure is no longer just fragmented; it is also totally convoluted, redefined, and there is no longer even any real clear definition of the family unit.  [This is why Southern Baptists updated the Baptist Faith And Message at our annual meeting in Orlando, Florida on June 14, 2000.  Our leadership correctly discerned that the concept of family was going through a paradigm shift in our nation.  That is, the concept of family based on the Judeo Christian ethic upon which this nation was founded upon- husband, wife and children, is seen by our decaying culture as only one of many options.  Pagan liberals even believe homosexual, lesbian and polygamous relationships are healthier!]  There is no fear of God with most people, and drunkards and fornicators brazenly parade their immoral lifestyles with little if any opposition from the church.  Why say all this?  Because these are the demographics that set the stage for the Day of the Lord, including the Great Tribulation Period.  “Every man is doing that which is right in his own eyes”  (The repeated phrase in the book of Judges).   I saw a lady drawing water at church yesterday, and I invited her to worship with us.  She mumbled that she was a priest, and later in our conversation she called herself a pastor.  The following is the whole point and reveals why today’s zeitgeist is yet another sign of Christ’s soon return:  During the Tribulation Period people will not be able to buy or sell except they have the mark of the Beast and they worship the Beast and Antichrist  (Revelation 13:13-18).  It would take a feckless, narcissistic, and lazy people without any spiritual conviction to do this.  Go to the local shopping mall and just watch people on the street.  Examine the priorities of today’s populace.  We have arrived.  A people totally void of spiritual truth and understanding are being prepared to enter the Great Tribulation period, which is yet another sign that the rapture is imminent.   Our nation has already left our spiritual foundation built upon the Christian faith and we have gone secular, which is the first step in an Islamic takeover.  People who do not take the mark of the Beast will be beheaded  (Revelation 20:4).  Like Esau, this generation would sell their soul to the Devil for mere bread and circus.  A godless amoral people will take the mark en masse.  This is the nineteenth sign mentioned on this blog site under eschatology of the soon return of Jesus Christ.

  1. I opened my Bible and this is what God revealed to me. No sure if this is relevant with your new post.
    Isaiah 28: 1-13
“1 ¶ Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! 2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand. 3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet: 4 And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up. 5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, 6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate. 7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. 8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. 9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.” (Isa 28:1-13 AV)
