Scriptures That Expound On The Consequences Of Sexual Union Outside Of Holy Matrimony

People who have issues with the following scriptures are in rebellion against God.  If one is always “repenting” between bouts of  sexual sins, perhaps they are merely confessing and never really repented to begin with.  Prior to the scriptures on sexual immorality, here is the classic scripture for those who abuse and misapply God’s grace.  Several translations are given and they all speak very loud and clear:

 

Jude 4

New International Version
For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

New Living Translation
I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

New American Standard Bible
For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

King James Bible
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
For some men, who were designated for this judgment long ago, have come in by stealth; they are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into promiscuity and denying Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord.

International Standard Version
For some people have slipped in among you unnoticed. They were written about long ago as being deserving of this condemnation because they are ungodly. They turn the grace of our God into uncontrollable lust and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus the Messiah.

NET Bible
For certain men have secretly slipped in among you–men who long ago were marked out for the condemnation I am about to describe–ungodly men who have turned the grace of our God into a license for evil and who deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Wesley’s Notes for Hebrews 13:4    Marriage is honourable in, or for all sorts of men, clergy as well as laity: though the Romanists teach otherwise. And the bed undefiled – Consistent with the highest purity; though many spiritual writers, so called, say it is only licensed whoredom. But whoremongers and adulterers God will judge – Though they frequently escape the sentence of men.

So many people in today’s time don’t walk into marriage with the fear of God in mind. If people still knew what it meant to have the fear of God within their hearts, truly putting Him first, and truly lived by His Word, more marriages would have the foundation needed to last.

It is the grace of god, if God says it, He will give the grace to live it. There is so much fornication and adultery in the church these days. This is all because those that should speak and teach it are not confident they won’t fall foul of it. God help us.
