This data is not something I enjoy sharing but it is true and can aid Americans in placing things into perspective. We often view the Nazi political party as wicked and evil, and rightly so. Like many of you men, I devour the plethora of specials on the history channel which describe the rise and fall of the Third Reich from the early 1920’s to 1945. The Nazis are credited with the killing of about 6,000,000 Jews. I visited the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, and the PA system announces the names of the victims 24/7/365. Since the infamous Supreme Court decision of Roe vs. Wade, we have aborted about 60,000,000 babies. Yes, that is ten times the aforementioned amount of deaths in the Holocaust. That is simple mathematics. Let us consider God’s mathematics and the spiritual law of reaping what we sow. Galatians 6:7 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Numbers 32:23b “….and be sure your sin will find you out.” Now do the spiritual mathematics from God’s perspective. It may help one to understand why He is allowing our current administration to encourage and even bus in thousands of “illegal” immigrants, including masses of children. Make no mistake– this president is extremely clever. To say no to the arriving immigrants would play on the heart strings of the rightfulness of humanitarian assistance. Once they are here, what do we do? Turn them away? Many are only children. The Central American countries are even encouraged by our government to drop off their children at our borders. We find ourselves in a no win situation, between a rock and a hard place.
Let me close with a very appropriate quotation from colonial times on the threshold of Independence Day by Alexis de Tocqueville:
“I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers – and it was not there . . . in her fertile fields and boundless forests and it was not there . . . in her rich mines and her vast world commerc – and it was not there . . . in her democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution – and it vas not there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.” [Note: Recent scholarship reveals that this quotation may have erroneously been credited to de Tocqueville. It matters little to me who said it. The main point is that it is a profound and accurate observation, and it is true].
Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
Have a blessed Fourth of July and pray for our country…..
