Quotable Quotation

Charles Haddon Spurgeon was known as the prince of preachers in his day. He was never trained in an extensive formal seminary setting, yet founded Spurgeon’s Bible College. He also founded an orphanage, where he spent a good amount of time including significant days such as his birthday and holidays. He refused the title of “reverand.” He likewise declined a formal ordination service by men, claiming that God called him into the ministry. He pastored the world’s largest megachurch when such churches did not exist. His writings and sermons go on “world without end,” and one could make a career out of simply reading his excellant and extensive material. His contemporaries said: “Sell all you have and buy Spurgeon.” He is probably the best theologian that I have ever read, and even his quotations are succinct, pithy, and powerful! This site will offer his quotations frequently from now on, since there is always a need for sound and solid theology. The quotations will be signed as simply CHS. Here is the first by Spurgeon: “If your theology doesn’t change your behavior, it will never change your destiny.” CHS
